Chapter 251: Let’s Go

Chapter 251: Let’s Go

The human mind was a complicated and sometimes very cruel place. Especially to the person who said mind belonged to. That was something that a lot of people knew and accepted as being just the way things were.

But that did not stop Derek from wishing with everything in him.

That of all the times his mind had chosen to attack him. It had chosen some point in the distant future. But he had no such luck. His mind had sensed weakness and had not wasted any time.

’Just because she is your girlfriend, that does not mean that she loves you.’

’You might love her, but Emily Molson might turn her back on you the moment that you mentioned those three little words.’

’Will you be able to take it if you confess and instead of saying I love you too. She instead turns around and begins running away from you as quickly as she can.’

’Or even worse, what will you do if she decides to hit you with... I like you a lot, but I do not love you. How about we give this a bit more time, and I will see if my feelings for you progress...The friend zone, without the friend zone.

’Will the mighty Derek Haven be able to bear that? Or will you crumble and turn to dust?’

His mind was being particularly vicious.

’Maybe you will not even get a chance to confess your love. What if this entire time she has just been looking for a way to let you down gently. To break up with you without making things too awkward?’

Those were the thoughts in Derek’s head. Driving him to near insanity until he finally just forced all of them away. Shoving them in some deep pit somewhere within himself. Locking it, and then throwing away the key.

The thoughts were valid fears. Things that he had every right to be wary of.

His intentions with Emily were serious after all.

By telling her that he loved her. He would literally be ripping his heart out of his chest. Handing it over to her, and asking her to keep it safe for him.

That was a big deal. Had Derek not been nervous, that would not have been a good sign. But still, nerves and all.

He was going to tell Emily how he felt.

Emily Molson, I love you.

That was exactly what he was going to tell her. Whether she rejected, or accepted him would be up to her. At the end of the day, Derek would have said what he had come to say.

But before all of that, Derek had to let Emily know that she was someone of great value in his life. Which was why on Saturday morning. Instead of the two of them staying in bed, cuddling, kissing and doing all manner of naughty things.

They were up and about, getting ready. The location that he had picked for their date was not in the city. It was actually an hour and a half away. So if they were to reach there on time, they had to leave early. Something that Emily was very clearly not pleased about.

But she at least trusted him enough to get ready when he asked her to.

"Derek, this surprise of yours had better be worth it," She told him. She was staring at Derek’s abs hungrily as he put on some lotion and he grinned at her. Only to stop when she squeezed her breasts in his direction, letting him see the cleavage. Seeing his distracted look, Emily smirked.

"Exactly. See what I mean? By going wherever it is that you say we have to be. We will be missing out on all the fun that we could be having here, so you have to make sure that it is worth every single orgasm that you and I will be giving up,"

Turning away from her to keep his resolve from breaking, Derek finished applying the lotion and then went for the clothes that he had set out on the bed.

"Emily, I promise you this will be worth the sacrifice that you are making right now. You will not regret it," He told her.

Turning back, he found her frowning softly, and he gave her a reassuring smile.

"I promise it will be worth it," He reassured her again, and her frown disappeared. Instead, she nodded.

"Did you say the dress code was casual or semi-casual," She asked.

Derek looked down at his shirt and jeans. Then he looked back at her again.

"Casual, definitely casual. That is why I asked you to bring sneakers when you came over for the weekend. We are definitely going to be putting them to good use," With a shrug Emily went back to focusing on the attire that she had brought over,

and the two of them finished getting dressed in silence.

Once done, Derek turned to Emily and did not even try to suppress a smile. He had picked clothes at random from his closet, knowing that whatever he chose would look good.

Emily had brought in her own things.

The two of them having not really sat down and talked about their outfits for the day. But somehow, they had ended up matching. They were both in dark blue jeans and sky blue shirts.

It would not take a genius to look at them, and know that they were together. The thought made Derek’s heart flutter. They were a couple, doing couple things like wearing matching clothes even when they had not meant to.

That felt good.

Taking her hand and leading her downstairs, Derek expected the two of them to just be out the front door. Instead the moment that they reached the downstairs area. Emily gently pulled her hand out of his, and headed for the kitchen.

"Judging by our attire, I think that we are going someplace where we are going to be doing a lot of walking. If not walking then some sort of physical activity. So I’m going to pack us a few provisions," She said. And once again Derek was reminded that between the two of them Emily was the planner. She was absolutely right. They would be needing some form of sustenance. If not, for where they were going. Then for the trip there. So he did not complain as she grabbed some bottles of water, and then some fruit.

Provisions acquired, the two of them set off.
