Chapter 855: 852: Back To Reality

If an outsider were to hear Corey’s thoughts on how good and satisfying the battle against Eidolon had been, they would call Corey a mad man.

And he would not deny it.

Battling Eidolon was a good thing for him because it brought him back to reality.

He was not humbled by Eidolon, and majority of his injuries were literally self-inflected, caused by his usage of so much mana at once.

Eidolon was not extremely strong to the point where it could overpower and overwhelm him, but it was dangerous... dangerous enough for his instincts to warn him of its threat.

And Corey was grateful for this.

Although he had never said it out loud, he knew that he had been getting overconfident and filled with less wariness at the possible dangers of New Earth.

Especially after his recent upgrades in Trollspire Dungeon.

He could battle Tier 6s, even some talented Tier 6s, and on New Earth... how many Tier 6s could there be on New Earth?

New Earth was still in its awakening phase, and the damage Tier 6s could cause on the planet was immense.

A Tier 6 was basically a catastrophe on New Earth... And Corey was one.

If not for the Outsiders, and maybe some unfathomable secrets that were in New Earth, he knew that very few would be able to defeat him in battle.

And this thought had been making him to feel overconfident.

The capital of the Kingdom of Miracles, Serithal, was a place he was not truly wary of.

The only place that was a sort of concern for him was the Temple of Miracles because it dealt with a god.

Another reason why he was grateful for his battle against Eidolon was because he had also been feeling like even most Tier 6s were no longer a threat to him. Only Tier 7s and above were unfathomable to him.

And there was a very valid reason for this.

When an individual passes the Tier Advancement Trials to become a Tier 5, they gain the ability to manipulate space.

This is where people gain the ability to teleport and use spatial attacks depending on their proficiency in manipulating space.

However, for an average Tier 5, manipulating space usually consumed a lot of mana. It consumed so much mana to the point that most used it only when they truly need it.

Some average Tier 5s might even only be able to use it thrice at most.

This was why most Tier 5s refuse to randomly teleport in battle.

As for Tier 6s, they gained the ability to manipulate Time after successfully passing their Tier Advancement Trials.

Average Tier 6s could certainly manipulate space far easier than Tier 5s could, and their energy reserves were far more greater than that of Tier 5s, which allows them to teleport a lot more than Tier 5s.

However, manipulating Time consumed a lot of energy, and average Tier 6s could barely manipulate Time.

After awakening his Void Phoenix Heart and gaining the ability to control the Void, manipulating both space and time was extremely easy for him since the Void encompasses both Space-Time and several other concepts that he was still trying to understand.

Because of this, he knew that whenever he faces a Tier 5 or a Tier 6, he had an advantage over them.

Or to be more precise.

Some of their advantages over those of lower Tiers could not be applied to him.

Very few could match him in his spatial and temporal manipulation ability, and if there was somebody that was extremely talented in space or time or both space and time?

He was confident that he would be able to find a chink, an error, a weakness that would allow him to either win or... survive.

As for the potential Mystic Energy of Tier 6s, he had three Infinity Crystals, and if the quality of his energy reserves could not match theirs, he could use quantity to win.

There were so many reasons as to why he had been confident in facing any Mystic Being.

Was it their mental prowess?

He was certain that very few Mystic Beings could match his. He literally had the soul origins of the dead gods of their entire universe in him.

Was it their high skill proficiency?

He could match theirs. In fact, he had a feeling that the skill proficiency levels of his skills were far higher than 99% of the Mystic Beings in the universe.

He knew all of these, and because he knew all of these, a seed of nonchalance and overconfidence had rooted itself in his heart.

To him Tier 6s and Tier 5s were no longer a danger to him, but his fight with Eidolon had brought back him to earth.

Although he was powerful and extremely unique, he could not underestimate any one of them.

Eidolon was a monster who was not as cunning as a human. It could not make plans, and the only thing it had was power.

Power that threatened his life.

’If I was battling a cunning human who was as powerful as Eidolon, it would have been far more dangerous.’

’... And I could have lost my life.’

Corey slowly lowered himself to the ground by manipulating the wind runes of the world.

His feet landed on the floor, and he stretched out his right hand.

His Genesis Armament slowly fell in his hand. He spun it once, and then he rested on it.

His gaze landed on the corpse of Eidolon, and he looked at it with fascination and intrigue.

His gaze shifted to the Maledro’s Gu that were devouring the corpse with visible joy and hunger. He could feel some Maledro’s Gu dying to the vast amount of energy, mainly death energy, that was in the corpse.

However, he could also feel some Maledro’s Gu experiencing a significant metamorphosis that made him smile.

It was not surprising that the Maledro’s Gu were experiencing a drastic change since they were devouring the corpse of a Tier 6.

He had expected it, and he was curious to know how strong they would become and what changes would occur to them after the metamorphosis.

’I can’t wait.’

Corey smiled, and then something he had been expecting happened.

A system message appeared before him.
