Chapter 853: 850: Eidolon (4)

Paragon Martial Arts: Cosmos Cleave

This was the second time Corey was using the Paragon Martial Arts ever since he fought the Capra King, and he could not help but recall how the Capra King who was a Tier 6 had nonchalantly slapped his attack away.

Back then, he was a Tier 2 Demi-Paragon who had not even awakened his Void Phoenix Heart.

But this time around, he was a Tier 3 Demi-Paragon with a fully awakened Void Phoenix Heart.

The difference between the two was massive, and this difference could also be seen in Cosmos Cleave.

----

Cosmos Cleave: A powerful downward strike that combines the might of heavy weapons like axes and the finesse of blades. The user channels their energy into the weapon, creating an arc that slices through space itself, cutting enemies and even disrupting nearby energy fields.

----

Back when he used Cosmos Cleave against the Capra King, he combined it with several other skills and the Capra King had still nonchalantly slapped his attack away despite using so many skills.

Although the definition of Cosmos Cleave seemed simple on the surface, it was anything but simple.

Its definition of slicing through space was not so simple because if Corey could master the skill to perfection, he would be able to truly slice through space.

A cut that would completely sever space.

Although Corey could not do that yet, his Cosmos Cleave could sever the space of this trial realm to the point where it would take a fairly long time before it could heal itself.

----

As Corey’s Genesis Armament was raised above him, Dreamfire flowed like water around the blades of his axe, a translucent sharp and heavy light were appeared on the edges of his blades, and the Runes of Empowerment and Decay blazed to life as Corey poured his mana into it.

THRUM!

An extremely heavy and loud thrum echoed throughout the world, and in the next second... The world stilled.

In the eyes of an outsider, they would see that above the blood-soaked ruins of the Archive were two powerful forces that shook the space around them.

On one side was Corey whose pure white eyes blazed with a bright light, and his Genesis Armament glowed with runes that thrummed with a terrifying power.

His Dreamfire suddenly increased in intensity, and then it surged behind him, wrapping around his figure like a veil.

And on the other side was Eidolon.

Its massive, grotesque form coiled the more, and its stitched mouth trembled with strain. Its three eyes- red, blue, and gold- had aligned into a singular white spiral.

And the spiral eye pulsed.

And then... it opened.

What spilled forth was light... A seemingly pure and seemingly endless light. It was a stream of glowing white brilliance laces with fragments of red, blue, and gold that unraveled space, time, and even... the soul.

This was not merely an attack or matter or energy. It was an attack that was meant to disintegrate and unmake whatever unfortunate thing that touched it.

Corey could feel his instincts screaming at him as the attack disintegrated both space and time as it travelled towards him.

He swung his axe... And then a crack resounded across the world.

His Genesis Armament split the air, and a massive arc of destruction was dragged in its wake.

Runes flickered in the trail of the arc across the sky as his blade painted a crescent of blazing white, violet, and green.

The strike contained not just mana and not just force... but a power that Corey knew was there but couldn’t comprehend no matter how much he tried.

It was a power he had felt the fleeting traces of, but despite his enormous mental capabilities, the power was just beyond him.

And he knew why.

Because he was still a Mortal... He didn’t have the authority to have knowledge about this power.

Although he didn’t know what this power was, what he had come to realize ever since his Stars of Consciousness kept on analyzing the Paragon Martial Arts was that Cosmos Cleave wasn’t just an attack.

It was a verdict.

It tore through the air, through the remnant storm of his unleashed Miasmic Wind, and through the clones that were still melting in his Toxic Domain.

A screech resounded throughout the world as the arc split the space of the world.

And Eidolon’s Eye of Oblivion met it head-on.

The two forces collided in the space above the Dying City.

The result?

Madness.

Time twisted, and the winds vanished. The world went silent for a moment before an extremely loud screech that was like two metals scraping across one another echoed in every part of the trial realm.

All across the Dying City, trees were uprooted. Windows shattered. Old, forgotten buildings began to decay into dust. And every unfortunate lifeform that was in a ten kilometer radius of the clash either died before they knew it or became terribly injured.

The clouds above froze.

Then reversed.

Then stopped again.

Time became extremely chaotic, and the space at the center of the clash was split open like it was flesh beneath a blade.

A single cut appeared in the sky, like a scar carved into the heavens, and the objects in the vicinity along with every bit of energy bent towards it.

Despite all of these, the clash was not over.

Eidolon’s Eye of Oblivion was still releasing its blinding white light, and Corey’s Cosmos Cleave was still very much present, causing more damage to the world.

Eidolon’s Eye of Oblivion pulsed once more, and the massive beam of white light became a spiral that began pulling everything around it into the spiral.

Even the massive spatial cut was beginning to get pulled into it.

The spiral attack was getting stronger.

But Corey’s Cosmos Cleave pushed forward.

He didn’t give up, and even the blood of Paragon in him and Cosmos Cleave itself refused to lose to an attack from a mere Tier 6.

Cosmos Cleave was meant to cleave universes and dimensions. How could it call itself Cosmos Cleave if it lost against an attack against a mere Tier 6.

It was unwilling.

Corey was unwilling.

His Dreamfire was unwilling.

And his Phantom Plague Axe Heart Intent was unwilling.

’You want to absorb the energy of the world?’

’Fine.’

’I’ll give you more than what you can chew.’
