Single Wish: Rise Of The Omniscient Paragon -
Chapter 847 - 844: The Third Day
Chapter 847: 844: The Third Day
After the decision was made, the Thirteenth Dawn and Corey left the building and began running towards the center of the Dying City.
It was the Third Day, and unlike the Second Day where they did not have any experience with the Dying City, this time around, they were more experienced.
They knew of the possible dangers and also what the Dying City could throw at them.
Although they knew that the deeper and closer they got to the source of the corruption, the more dangerous the city would get... Even during the Day.
Despite having more experience with the Dying City, the Thirteenth Dawn had to be more cautious for several reasons.
And one of them was because of Yara and Rhys.
Both Yara and Rhys had something taken from them, and their current condition was not suitable for battle at all.
Especially Yara.
Her eyes were still dull and lifeless, and if not for Aelric who suggested carrying her with a summoned undead of his, the group would have been slowed down drastically because of this.
However, the undeniable fact was that their combat prowess had been reduced by a significant margin because of Yara’s inability to fight.
Not only that, her scouting capabilities were no longer available to them.
Certain dangers that Yara had been able to notice ahead of time was no more. Also, her ability to go ahead of them and scout out the right path for them to take which would lead them forward was no longer available to them.
It was a massive blow to the Thirteenth Dawn, and they had to come up with a countermeasure.
Aelric suggested using some of his undead to scout out the path ahead for dangers, and Kieran agreed.
Although there were dangers in doing this like the extremely high possibility of Aelric’s undead being noticed, it was the best choice for them.
’First, we lost Rhys. Now we’ve lost Yara... Our group’s fighting power has been drastically reduced.’
’Hopefully, they’re able to recover what they lost if we survive the trial and we’re able to leave.’
’Or the Thirteenth Dawn would be a thing of the past.’
Kieran thought as his gaze was on Aelric’s undead which was being sent ahead of them to scout out the path for them.
He shifted his gaze to Rhys, who was visibly struggling to use his mana senses to navigate his surroundings since he no longer had eyes.
’He’s better than before, but it’s obvious he’s not at his best. The battle against the Tier 5 creature proved it.’
’He was meant to protect us against the creature, but we had to protect him a lot of times because he could not see.’
’Hopefully, he’s able to get used to his new skill because we’ll need him in the future battles.’
’His defensive abilities are extremely crucial for our survival.’
In the past, a rope was connecting both him and Zeke so that Rhys would not go towards another direction.
However, Aelric had suggested to Rhys that he should use his ability to sense mana to visualize his surroundings.
It was an ability that was majorly for Mages because of their high perception, and Rhys was at first skeptical about Aelric’s words since his perception was not that great.
But Aelric gave him some tips, and Rhys gained the skill, Mana Sense on the Second Day.
It might seem surprising and noteworthy that Rhys had gained the skill, Mana Sense so quickly. But one should not forget that Rhys was a Mystic Being.
Gaining a basic skill like Mana Sense was not a notable feat at all for a Mystic Being, whether Tier 4 or not.
Although he had gained Mana Sense on the Second Day, he had not been able to get used to it until the Second Night ended.
What Corey did not know was that Rhys had been using Mana Sense to fight against the Tier 5 creature, and in a battle which he completely believed was a Life and Death Battle, he quickly got used to using Mana Sense, not only in common situations, but in battle.
This improvement even showed itself after he woke up.
Rhys was not the only person to benefit or gain an improvement from the ’Life and Death Battle’ they went through, every single one of them had benefitted in one way or the other.
Corey did not know this because he had not attempted to scan any of them, and also because he truly did not care.
But if he did, he would have been surprised because that meant he had inadvertently found a way to train people and improve their skills.
And if he did, he would have realized that the reason why this was possible was because the illusion ability of his Tri-Pupil Eyes did not only affect the physical senses of an individual, it also affected the spiritual senses of the individual.
And this was reaching far deeper into the core of the individual, and it could be extremely dangerous to the individual or beneficial to the individual... Depending on the will of the owner of the Tri-Pupil Eyes.
Corey did not know any of this, and even if he did, this would not be at the forefront of his mind because he was thinking of how he could leave the Thirteenth Dawn behind.
Unlike what he did when he left the group to check out the Archive, he could not do such a thing anymore.
Leaving behind an illusion could not work because it couldn’t talk, and he wanted to completely leave the group.
However, he wanted to leave in a manner that would not cause him future annoyance and headaches.
’How I wish I could create a perfect clone of myself.’
Just as Corey had this thought, his gaze suddenly landed on the Archive.
Because they had been running at a fast speed, they were closer to the building.
At first, Corey merely took a glance at it and was about to look away, but a second later, his eyes narrowed.
’What is that?... Wait... That could work.’
