Chapter 79: Blood Mist
Chapter 79: Blood Mist
¤●¤
It was happening again... a dream. Just like the time he fell asleep beside Ava but now he laid on her lap he suddenly felt the impulse to close his eyes and before he knew it he had gone into the realms of sleep and all communications with the real world gone.
It was stronger this time, almost like it wasn’t sleep that took him but something powerful enough to pull his consciousness into another body.
The body of a baby, pulling a silver strand and holding it tightly with tiny hands. He was carried in the arms of warmth but once again he couldn’t see her face, just her lips with a sad smile. He wanted to hold her face, run his lips through her delicate skin and seek closure.
What stopped him in his tracks was the tears that slid down her cheeks that caught his attention, he suddenly could feel her pain, a strong pristine pain that was able to measure his little heart too.
This woman was not alone... there was a man beside her, he could tell by his defined jaw, his hair compared to the woman was a raven color, but he preferred the silver hair to the woman that was identical to his.
Suddenly the warmth was gone and he felt himself being placed on something comfortable but it didn’t bring comfort like the woman’s arms, he wanted it to the point he started crying and calling for her to come back and hold him so that he would careless her hair, it was cold without her warmth so cold as he drifted further and further away, taken away from light.
’Do not worry my William, I believe we shall reunite one day, I wish you all the happiness any mother would give and I believe what lay ahead of you is nothing but wonders, I pray for you to find love just as I have, and that love just as mine will be your salvation...’
William flicked his eyes open and met with the dim skies, he held his head and the voice kept coming, it lingered and plagued him, but what captivated him the most was the phrase she used ’Mother’
"Ava" he mumbled hoping to turn and set his eyes on enthralling brown eyes but he just realized he was alone.
He sat up and found out he didn’t lay on her lap any longer but instead, his head had been resting against the blanket.
His eyes scanned the empty area but she was nowhere to be seen.
Where did she go? Alone?
He could easily trace her scent so he did... but there was one problem, his nose wasn’t working quite well because of the creatures here, they have a powerful scent like Ava and it mixed with theirs, now it was telling him she was everywhere but she cannot be everywhere.
The first thing he thought of was to explode in anger but he remained calm, he specifically told her not to leave his side, his teeth clenched and the thought of her wandering alone in a place that might cause her more harm than good made his body go rigid.
She never listens
She’s getting stubborn
He should have known how curious of a being she is... how much she craves nature and it calls to her, it’s a natural thing and he wouldn’t blame her, but instead, he blamed himself for falling asleep like that... but the impulse was just too strong, just like that night like he was under a spell.
He knew without a doubt that sleep did not come naturally. Something levied on him. He would know if there was a threat spell, and this wasn’t.... Could it be Ava’s doing? The two times he has fallen asleep and saw that strange memory, she was always there.
But he couldn’t think clearly about dreams and sleeps, he needed to find Ava... his body did not settle well with him.
He would scold her when he finds her, and spank her until she begs him to stop because of her unacceptable behavior. That’s a promise.
If she was too far away his aura would not be able to protect her, that was what ticked him and aggravated him the most, the thought of her alone without any protection, visible to the eyes of the creatures here who would marvel at the mere sight of her. Something that was only meant for him!
He came to a stop and stared into the dark skies illuminated by a thousand stars and reflecting on all nature making it glow. It is dark and he still has not found her.
Hells!
Growls were leaking from him and his anger he didn’t want to dwell on was getting the better of him. Not until the strong wind came and a certain scent he had been trying to trace filled his nose but more importantly the area, the air around turning into a mist red, this wasn’t her scent... this was the smell of her blood!
He held his head as his senses, and sight grew exacerbated, the smell of her blood not only made him bleed from hunger but drove out a part of him that was ready to consume the entire area in wrath and a realization that struck him.
She’s in danger
His Fairy is in danger!
His inhuman speed was already set in motion, he blurred his way to the source keen and seething to get to her and along the way trying to keep his hunger sedated, now was not the time for it but how can he help it when her blood covered the entire place? Like red mist, polluting the area.
And then he heard it, the malicious sound of damn Pixies who didn’t think twice to show their faces around him because of fear... but there they are, the little demons having the guts to clutter his Fairy like a bloody feast.
The sight of her was enough to stop his slow-beating heart until there was no sound left.
