Chapter 70: Outside The Walls Of The Holy Library {1}

I couldn’t stop the excitement that coursed through me, I was all lively from the very first break of dawn. I was certain Elvenia could feel every ounce of joy on my body as she tied my hair in a ribbon.

"Elvenia have you been outside?" I asked, breaking the silence that brooded between us, even though she was always inflexible. I really wanted her to speak to me, it’s been a while.

"Look I’m sorry about the kitchen and-"

"That is where I came from... so yes I have been outside the Holy Library walls," she said, cutting me off and I figured she didn’t want to talk about the incident in the kitchen. Noted.

She was done with my hair and walked to get something, I took that opportunity to rise to my feet and assess my dress. it was beautiful compared to the ones I usually wore within the library, this looked like a dress clearly made for outside.

Beneath, I wore an empire waist white gown starting from beneath my chest, and on the outside, it was the same style of jacket, light blue color with dark blue designs embodied on it, the knot tied just beneath my chest, it was long sleeve but stopped at my elbows, the texture of it was thick too. I also have light blue gloves on my hands. My hair was packed up in a curly bun with a black ribbon.

I could barely recognize myself, I couldn’t believe what I saw, I looked like those girls I admired back at the orphanage taking a stroll outside. I smiled taking in everything, comfortable and proud of what I was seeing.

I adjusted the collar of my jacket and hissed when I felt a pain, that same pain ever since that night, I was unable to make sense of it because of what happened yesterday. So I quickly pulled down the collar and turned my neck to the side and I gasped.

There was a puny red long line of cut on my neck, It wasn’t deep and it was barely visible almost like a knife greased me, but I knew all far too well that a knife didn’t cause this, I vividly remembered William’s canines greasing me that night and how he sucked deeply on it hence the sting, the mark wasn’t visible but my red skin was from his suck.

I blushed deeply as I quickly put my collar up, god even last night he sucked on that spot too so imagine the redness.

Elvenia was back with a box and I quickly sat back down clearing my throat, fidgeting with my collar, as if she hadn’t seen it during my bath, she must have and the thought of it caused chagrin to flood me.

Elvenia placed the large black box on the table and I gasped to see the pieces of jewelry on the white platform that looked like cotton, it was all shiny.

"T-There is no need for this, I look okay"

She paused. "It’s yours and you should wear them," she said, ignoring me as she grabbed a necklace and matching earrings.

Mine? My wide eyes landed on it, these were mine?

I was in shock and silence as I watched her pining the pinup earrings that were glittering from the sunlight reflecting in the room and then placing the necklace around my neck.

I looked like a royal when I wasn’t even one. Was I even worth this? The beautiful clothes, the luxury, and the jewelry.

My shoes made noises as I walked to the entrance of the castle, I fixed my hat properly, slightly nervous and my mind swirling with thoughts. I raised my head when I caught a flash of silver and it felt like my world went into pause when I took in the man before me. My lips parted as my orbs feasted upon grandeur.

Just at the entrance where the giant’s doors were left open and the sunlight coming through stood William, the wind carrying his long silver hair back and forth... It looked like splendor was unfolding before my eyes and as if that wasn’t enough he made a turn and the air in my lungs shut for a second.

Yes... William has always been well dressed but this looked different, he looked spectacular. An inner white shirt tucked neatly, a dark blue cravat tie with silver designs embodied on it, a dark jacket that stopped at his knees, black pants, and dark knee-length boots. His cold cufflinks caught my eyes as he stretched his hand for me.

I felt like my body was governed as I walked to him taking everything that was just simply dazzling, I took his hand and he offered me a faint side smile that caused my knees to almost give out.

"You look exquisite, Ava"

I blushed, leveling my gaze. "I don’t think I deserve this jewelry"

"Why? They are mine" he said, placing a hand on my chin and tilting it so I met his eyes. "And they are yours"

I opened my mouth to speak.

"And every bit of dime in this place is meant to be worn by you" he added. I felt the heat slipping to my face and I looked to the side to cool off, his eyes on me were giving my body far too much heat.

I heard a slight chuckle and I snapped my eyes back to him, was that?

He looked amused but his eyes merely spoke more of it but I didn’t hallucinate it, William gave in to humor even though it was just a brief second.

"Was that a laugh?" I mused.

"Young miss, Master" I heard Severus as he walked to us. "Enjoy your day today, here Elvenia packed this," he said, raising up a basket. How silly of me I have forgotten the most crucial thing about a picnic.

"Thank you," I said, taking the basket. "But aren’t you coming?"

"No young miss, I have work in the library"

My eyes went wide as I faced William who suddenly had his eyes on his pocket watch. That means it was just William and I!

"Come," he said, tucking my hand so I followed him and then took the basket from me. "Before Sophia throws a tantrum" he threw over his shoulders and I giggled, Knowing Sophia she would cry that her ’Muster’ was leaving when he was basically coming back.

The moment we stepped into the wide compound a portal opened.

"A portal," I asked, remembering one of them from the time I first came here.

"The library is at the base of a mountain on foot will be too time-consuming"

"Oh," I gripped his hand tightly, seeming anxious now. What if this was a bad idea, what if I pulled William away from his important duties all for nothing?"

"Ava"

I snapped my eyes to him, he read me with his eyes before speaking. "Do you trust me?"

"Yes," I answered without any doubts and suddenly all the nervousness I felt suddenly vanished and we both stepped into the portal.
