SILVER-HEART
Chapter 69: Testing His Patience {2}

Chapter 69: Testing His Patience {2}

My heartbeat was colliding and I didn’t dare look away from William. He didn’t look angry but I could feel it, I could see the storm brooding in his eyes... I could see it in his aura, it was too wild. Enough to send a lion running for the hills.

"I-I’m in bed" feigning ignorance? Really Ava? Is that the best you can come up with? I mentally scolded myself. But I was at a loss for options, the last time I faced an angry William it did not go well.

"You have been avoiding me all day" he was blunt again, narrowing his eyes at me like he was trying to have a read on my emotions, if he’s trying that much that means I wasn’t showing much emotions to begin with.

"No, I wasn’t" I bit my bottom lip, I wavered there and I’m certain he senses it. He looked to the side and ran his hands through his beautiful hair, dear gods! This man was spectacular and I was suddenly reminded of our session last night and I blushed, unable to stop myself from doing so.

So much for being blank.

"So this is because of what we talked about last night?"

I felt the hurt again, surely he must know that is the reason, William’s clever.

"I’m tired and I want to sleep"

"I thought you... find more comfort in my chambers" wasn’t a reason but a fact.

"I-I do but I want to sleep here" I bite back.

His teeth clenched, why was he suddenly aggravated, he should just order me and tell me to come with him. "Do I have to drag you back with me?"

No... he won’t do that, William didn’t want to order me, he wants my opinion.

"I don’t see a need for that. Why should I be in your bed? You do sleep" I dropped my book on the nightstand in an attempt to go to bed.

"I find peace when I listen to your heartbeat"

I froze and regret flushed through me, we both found comfort in each other, in bed or anywhere else and we both knew that we both craved it... it would be foolish to hide such feelings.

"You..." I began standing away from the bed. "You made me feel trapped"

Something flashed in his eyes but the second I saw it, it was gone.

I leveled my gaze to my feet. "I-I know you have your reason b-" I gasped because he was suddenly before me, towering over my height and my chin to meet his gaze.

"Yes I have my reason"

I really didn’t want to ask but I couldn’t fight my curiosity. "Why?" I asked softly.

"I will answer only if you will come to my bed"

I frowned, we were bargaining now? "It is just a simple question!" I barked and he raised an eyebrow closing the distance between us until my back met the wall behind me.

"I’m already losing so much of my patience with you, the silly thing you did today..." his teeth clenched, "Avoiding me?" he placed a hand above my head and leaned further. "That was a mistake," he added.

I really did anger him. I placed my hand on his palm and gave a slight push or maybe he moved because I wanted to for I knew there was no way I could push through his unnatural physique.

"Fine then, let’s go then," I said carrying my book and walking out of the door without bothering to look back. I marched straight to his chambers and the giant door opened in my presence. I climbed the stairs and sat on his bed. And turned to the entrance William walked through and the doors slammed shut.

"Will you leave after I tell you?" he suddenly asked.

"I don’t plan on leaving", the truth is I can’t bear to go back to my chambers alone, it was cold and unsettling without him.

’"Good" he mumbled and walked to the bed before sitting beside me. "I’m not keeping you trapped here, if you want to go outside then I will allow you to the garden"

"Is it because I’m a fairy?" I began in a heavy tone. "Because of the cruel fate I experienced in the mortal realm, you feel it would be the same here"

I have been thinking that was surely the reason and it made my heart skip a beat because it shows he cares about me.

"This place Ava, is different, you’re not familiar with it and you’re not ready"

"I want a picnic with you," I said, leveling my gaze. "It was stupid of me to ask, I saw a picture and I was foolish to crave such"

"You’re not foolish or stupid, Ava"

I shifted my gaze to his eyes. "Under the shade of the tree, watching the skies and nature, the wind, the smell, with you" I added the last part in a whisper.

"Is that what you truly want?"

I nodded. There was a pause, a long pause and my heart slammed in deep beats waiting for his answer. I wasn’t so sure I could bear another rejection, I gave him the most puppy dog eyes I could muster, a trick I learned from Sophia.

His jaw clenched and he said words that were enough to get my heart in a fluttering mess. "Fine"

I squeaked, jumping at him and giving him a hug, wrapping my arms around his neck and burying my face in his neck, and inhaling his scent. I felt him stiffened by my action so I pulled and placed a kiss on his cheek.

"Thank you" I mused

He looked to his side and his ears were tinted red, so cute! I wanted to rub them but I resisted.

"Ava" he began bringing his eyes to me. "You do not leave my side, am I clear?" it wasn’t a request.

I nodded. I knew the outside of these four walls might hold dangers for me, but as long as I was by his side he would keep me safe, his eyes told me so... I could see it in his crystal green orbs.
