Chapter 47: Brunch With The Three

Severus led me to a place I haven’t been to before or maybe I have but only realized it, I could spot the familiar view of the garden, the same garden where I was, and when I first saw William’s face. I gulped recalling everything.

But we weren’t outside... still within the building but due to the open space I could see the view and it was very beautiful, it looked like an elongated lobby, and in a space there were white chairs and a table with snacks filled on it.

"Chew properly Sophia!" Elvenia scolded Sophia who stuck her tongue at her and I giggled, she was still as mischievous. The mere sound from me caught their attention.

"Avy!!!!" Sophia shrieked and she rushed to me before I could blink and wrapped her tiny arms around my waist, although it did not cover it completely, she just grabbed my sides. She started calling me Avy ever since she slept in my arms and she has taken quite a liking to me too... I’m not sure ’Avy’ was the right pronunciation for my name though.

"Sophia, where are your manners?" Severus mused and she stuck her tongue at him before moving her big blue eyes to me, her ears twitched as she offered me a cute big smile.

"I missed you Avy"

I smiled, completely forgetting her mischievous act just now. "I missed you too, Sophia," I said, patting her head and she purred cutely.

"Young miss"

I darted my eyes to Elvenia with her usual forbearing expression, I really wish I could see her smile, even though once.

"I can prepare brunch for you back at the dining hall if you wish" she bowed.

"Relax Elvenia, the young miss is here for brunch with us"

I noticed she flinched at his words.

"Where are your manners, Severus? The young miss couldn’t possibly dine with us servants! When the master finds out he-"

"I wish to be here" I cut her off and she faced me with an eye-piercing look. "I WANT to be here... and please could you drop the formality?" I blushed, the title ’Young Miss’ didn’t sit well with me since day one.

"No no Young Miss we cannot agree to that"

I faced Severus at his words.

"You hold an important position here, that respect should be given"

"But I haven’t earned that respect"

"You do not need to earn it young miss," he mused. I opened my mouth but he didn’t let me protest further. "Shall we enjoy our brunch?"

He offered me a seat and I sighed in defeat walking to it and he drew it out for me gently and I sat on it, Sophia quickly hopped on my lap and sat there with a big smile.

Severus took his seat and Elvenia did too. It was suddenly awkward now for no one had made attempts to eat well except Sophia who was already rushing through the biscuits.

"Here Avy, eat this! Elvenia’s star biscuits are the best!"

"Thank you," I said, taking the star-shaped biscuit and biting a bit, I noticed Severus and Elvenia started eating too.

"This is really good," I said, amazed as the flavor exploded in my mouth. It was crunchy and tasted like grapes, I think it was the purple toppings I saw on it that caused such a unique taste.

Sophia gave me more and I happily ate them.

"Muster taught Elvenia how to make this, he taught her everything she knows in the kitchen"

"H-He did?"

"Our master is a master of all"

I turned to Elvenia. "There’s nothing he does not know and cannot do. I learn all my incredible skills from him, but Master remains the talented chef"

A sudden desire struck me... a need to see William cook, that would be an interesting sight, I was already daydreaming about it.

William on an apron walked to the table with a pan of freshly baked biscuits, dropping it on the table and giving me a devious smile.

"Avy you’re turning red!" Sophia blurted

"Huh?" I was brought back to reality.

"Is the biscuit too tasty for you?" Severus asked, suddenly worried. Everyone was looking at me... just how long did I zone out?

"N-No I’m fine," I said, quickly taking a glass of juice and chugging it all in one go to cool myself. I took a sigh of relief when I was convinced my temperature was down a bit.

I’m mentally exhausted!

I took a deep breath, I had to excuse myself after some minutes, my head was getting oddly hot right now or perhaps was that image too much to handle?

I sighed again as I walked through the doors of the library holding my head. I thought brunch with the three would cool my head off William but they seemed to talk only about him, and that made it worse for me. Maybe a book would help? I shook my head, that would only make it worse.

I suddenly halted my steps, then why did I come back here and not to my chambers? I raised my gaze and I froze when I saw William’s office space.

I had no idea I had walked here... just how stormy is my brain?

"Did you have fun with the three"

I jumped at the sudden voice and turned to see William before me, how on earth did he get so close? He stared down at me with his usual blank features. I gulped.

"Y-Yes brunch was fun," I said, having no intention of staring for too long.

"Excuse me, master, I have to study now," I said as respectfully as I could as I rushed past him until I could no longer see him. Really Ava? Does running away help? I took a deep breath of relief leaning my back against the shelf. Maybe it does help...

A sudden palm on both sides got me alerted and I stared stunned at William who was suddenly before me, caging me with two of his hands above my head, like he was making sure I wouldn’t run from him. I was trapped!

"Your constant running away from me is unnerving," he said with clenched teeth and I caught sight of the two canine fangs he had, not too defined but you could tell they were a different shape from the rest when up close, I wonder why he has such teeth.

"Haven’t you learned Ava?"

I shifted my trembling gaze to his eyes, his green orbs were dimmer again, what could be the cause of it?

"No matter how far you run I will always catch you," He closed the distance between us.
