SILVER-HEART -
Chapter 40: A Night Of Magnificence
Chapter 40: A Night Of Magnificence
I never knew the meaning of true beauty until now. I have always loved nature, flowers and butterflies, the wind against my face, the night skies, as well as the rising sun and sunset... those were things that were considered great magnificence to me. If only I knew... the mere definition of it was this... Do I even deserve to gaze upon this?
William stood before the horde of butterflies circling him, on his night robe, his silver hair swirling freely along with the wind and it was shiny just like the flowers. My eyes trembled as I took every part of him... as well as the part I have never seen before.
He wasn’t wearing his mask...
Yes... he wasn’t, so I saw what lay within and it wasn’t a disease or a scar as I thought it to be... these were the definite features of a godly man. He had thick silver eyebrows that match his silver hair, and dear gods his lashes were silver too, curled up perfectly around his eyes. His eyes... Just from this angle, even though he was focused on the butterfly that settled on his thumb as he watched it, I could see the bright green color.
But something puzzled me... his eyes, as they stared at the waving butterfly, they looked... sad? Why?
The wind came more and the petals from the flower waved around the place, I should be stunned by awe by its beauty but no... this man that lay before me rivaled even that. I couldn’t take my eyes away and I couldn’t move from that spot, I didn’t want to. The butterflies have long since dispersed and gone either to the flowers or to the air leaving just William, his eyes to the skies and his lips parted up slightly like he was in thought, his lips a pale color matching his skin.
I thought I was the fairy... but he was an impossible fairy in the night, a mere glimpse of him was like a shooting star, a rare thing that occurred that got everyone amazed by its wonder, but this was a shooting star on earth and I got to see one.
My eyes still tremble, I was unable to come back from shock... I was frozen like ice as I continued to bless my eyes with this image and never looked away.
His long silver hair continued to be carried by the wind until he descended his eyes away from the skies, there was a pause and with each throbbing heartbeat of mine, he turned to me. A stun gasp left me when his beaming green eyes pinned me down, on his forehead was a crescent blue moon tattoo engraved, it was tiny but well defined. His eyes were unreal... they were like crystals and outshined everything in this garden, being the major focus... so...
My body lost balance, what’s happening? Why was I falling to the ground? It felt like my strength was leaving my body, why? It was too late for me to think, for darkness had already found me, but I never felt the impact of the ground.
☆☆☆
What happened? Why do I feel so weak and tired? The last thing I remember was William... all my thoughts were of him, so I opened my eyes, everything was blurry at first but when I came to it I could see the flowers. Flowers... that means I was still in the garden. I groaned trying to move and I found out I was lying on the grass but I wasn’t cold, I felt something covering me and then I felt it... it wasn’t a blanket, it felt like a robe... William’s robe.
I gasped sitting up and looking around and then I found William standing before me watching the skies.
"W-William" I mumbled, I can’t even set my tone right, why does my voice sound so faint?
"What are you doing here, Ava" it wasn’t a question.
I froze because his tone was dark and his aura was in a perfect mix with it.
"I-I" I began clumsily as I forced my body to stand, I felt dizzy but I pushed it aside and was forced to hold my head.
"I did not recall giving you permission to leave your chambers or come outside" his voice sounded harsh and so foreign to me, I could barely recognise it.
Why does he sound angry? The last time I sensed William was angry was with the Grandmaster. I shivered where I was because the area got colder with every second, almost like... the winter season was coming.
My teeth chattered and every breath of air was cold steam from my mouth... Why is it so cold? I swore I saw the flowers around us gently covered in ice or was it my imagination?
"Let this not repeat itself again... am I clear?!" he did not turn to me nor did he move, his words were like ice just like him. The air around him was heavy and it was getting difficult to breathe with the amount of pressure.
And I can’t stop shaking as I grip the robe around me more. All my life I have received harsh words enough to squeeze one’s heart and make one give up on life then why? Why does this hurt like this have pierced my soul instead? And why were cold tears streaming down my cheeks on their own accord without me even making a sound, I was quiet like the sudden still wind that held nothing but frost.
"You found your way out here..." he began as he turned to me and there it was again... that mask, a wall between us. "... Then you can very well find your way back"
I said nothing... I wasn’t sure I could find my words, it was simple... I was to go back to my chambers and never come outside again if he didn’t order it, but this feeling sowed deeper into my heart, and it was a clear space of a difference... freedom will was never mine.
"Y-Yes... Master" I said, turning to walk away... cold, lost, weak, and... hurt.
