I rubbed my head against the pillow, the texture so soft that it gave me ease, my sore muscles were no longer painful, and my body felt light and comfy. I groaned, sucking on my bottom lips murmuring to myself, which I could clearly hear, but it was more like little groans for the realms of sleep were too satisfying and celestial. My hand gripped and I noticed a warmth coming from it, it gave me some sort of relaxation, better ease than the bed. What could be a better ease than a fluffy bed?

To get my answer I leisurely opened my eyes, my blurry sleepy eyes landed on my hand connected with another, getting more confused I glimpsed my eyes all the way to the sitting figure beside me, and my vision cleared immediately when I got a better look, William!

My eyes went broad, he just sat there with his other hand on a book he held, which he appears to be engrossed in, or so I thought.

"You’re awake..."

Hearing his voice first thing in the morning became celestial to me, sweet to my ears, and musculine.

"I was wondering how long you intend to hold my hand," he added, not bothering to turn his attention away from the book.

My broadened eyes dropped, our hands still connected and it all came back. I remembered after his words I ended up crying and when he wanted to leave I didn’t let him as I held his hand, that was it, that was all I remembered, I must have fallen asleep right after.

I gasped, quickly taking my hand away from his like the contact burned me. I sat up too pulling the cover more to my body until it covered my mouth and nose, it gave off that earthly scent too. Everything in here smells like him and I couldn’t stop my cheeks from heating again.

"F-Forgive me, Master" I quickly apologized. His posture still remained the same which could only mean he hadn’t moved from that spot, he stayed like that all through the night because of me. "Because of me you-"

The sudden loud shut of the book he held made me jump and my heartbeat quickened in pace, oh no! Was he angry?! I shivered just at the mere thought of it.

"William"

"W-What?"

"Call me William whenever we’re in the four walls of this bedroom or any other place aside from the Library’’ he finally turns to me and I feel pinned by his gaze, tilting his head to the side. "I don’t fancy being called master by my bride in the bedroom"

My cheeks heated more again, and I quickly buried myself in the cover again, just leaving only my eyes exposed.

"I-I’m your bride"

"Yes"

"D-Does it mean you intend to marry m-me?"

"Marry?" he says. "No little one that is a mortal thing, we don’t do marriages here for you’re already married to me,"

Huh?

"For it to be fully realized and acknowledged, the consummation will complete it"

"C-C-Consummation?!"

"You don’t know what that means?"

"Yes, I do!" I blurted louder than I thought and I covered myself once again, the embarrassment making my face go hotter. Of course, I know about consummation... It was another thing we were taught in the orphanage when we were of age, it was just a means to educate us because when we grow out of the system sometimes instead of parents we might have a husband, of course, there will consent it was just the way my town works, it was part of the law.

After hearing William say all that, does this mean I’m a wife? Already? I always thought marriage was the process of becoming a wife but it doesn’t happen... here?

"What are you thinking?"

He sounded inquisitive now and he grabbed my attention as I darted my eyes at him.

"Is it too much to take in?" he asked again.

I shook my head. "Y-You already called me your bride since day one" I mumbled, it doesn’t surprise me as much but... marriage has to do with when feelings are involved, right? I remember one of the girls from the orphanage, the same age as me before I was bought by the Grandmaster.

She was always seeing a boy who moved to the town recently, I hear their relationship was decent and they both loved each other, so they got consent from both parties and got married before they were in love.

I shifted my level gaze to William, but I don’t love William... and he doesn’t seem to either, wasn’t marriage all about love?

I opened my mouth to say something but the words just hung, it was too confusing now but I understood one thing, I was engaged to a man I have no feelings for and he seemed okay with it. But maybe he does have feelings for me, I mean he may be non-emotional but he does show gestures of caring, maybe he loves me that is why he wishes to marry me. I gathered enough courage I could muster and opened my mouth.

"W-William do you-"

What came off me was a gasp, it happened so fast, too fast and I couldn’t grasp how I could be in this position now. William quickly grabbed my wrist and pulled me to his side until there was no barrier between us except his mask which remained a stronghold wall. Our faces are inches apart...

Although he gave the go-ahead to say his name, hearing her say it so suddenly caused something within him to snap, his senses became a slave to his beastly desire, like an edge of a mountain, and before he could fathom his own unusual thoughts he has her in his arms, his hand tightly on her wrist, and the other placed on her waist.

Her big dim brown orbs were wide in shock, she was yet to process his very action. Her voice when she uttered his name was luscious to his ears, he had only thought he would need only hear her voice but now there was a strong desire to hear his name coming off her petite pink lips over and over again...

How foolish of him to request such... he only wants to ease his beast by hearing his mate utter his name once again to rid this sensation... Those were his thoughts. And a request came right after that or maybe a command.

"Say my name again"
