SILVER-HEART -
Chapter 182: I Came To Drag You To Hell!
Chapter 182: I Came To Drag You To Hell!
My heart was palpitating badly, pounding like drums in my very chest, on the verge of blasting... I didn’t know if I should experience happiness or dread, maybe it was a mix of both. But hope came stronger the moment I laid eyes on my handsome Fox god.
Because William is here and I knew everything will be alright, his darkness didn’t just bring a murderous feeling but a spark of hope for Estel and me.
William stopped on his track and tilted his head where I was, but he didn’t look at me completely, just his side profile, and his ears twitched, measuring any sounds aside from Aldon’s screams.
And I knew he heard Estel’s baby cries because his teeth clenched right at that moment. He stretched his hand and the barrier keeping me away from Estel broke into pieces and vanished in thin air.
I wasted no time rushing to my daughter and cradling her in my arms, with panicked breaths, I checked her neck, and relief flushed over me, the dagger only just greased her, and the trail of blood I saw earlier was just from scratch.
"Ava"
I darted my eyes to William, I was about to say something to him but Aldon’s growl caught me off and I darted my eyes to him, he held onto his bleeding right hand that was now amputated by the ice.
"How are you here?!" he growled. "You should be trapped in that library of yours!"
"We meet again, Aldon" William’s voice wasn’t pleasant even in the slightest.
"Ha yes, isn’t this a reunion," he chuckled in spite of the state he was in. "You think you can-"
He was caught off because his body hung in the air by an invisible force and I knew it was no doubt William’s doing.
"I will derive so much pleasure in cutting you limp by limp until just your heart beats"
"You know better Fox Guardian"
Instantly the area was covered in a mask of flames, and Aldon broke from William’s spell like it was nothing.
The flame got close to me and I panicked, this was Aldon’s fire and it eats everything up. But suddenly feeling a hand around my waist pulling me close I was at ease. William’s aura was able to fend off the flames and even though burning has no effect on us.
"Your coming here is futile, Fox, even here with your precious daughter and my Aveline, it doesn’t change anything!"
"Yes you’re right..." William said and he sounded strangely calm. I couldn’t read his emotions, and the blindfold wasn’t helping either to read his eyes.
Why was he wearing it?
"You can’t kill me, Fox, I die... she dies! The least you can do is this!" he clenched his amputated arm, smirking. "In spite of your daughter our lifeline still beats the same and-"
And the next thing that happened caused chills to flood my spine and Estel instantly ceased her crying as her half-opened eyes settled on her father.
William had a smirk on his lips but it wasn’t the least of amusement, it was plaguing and taunting to the point Aldon’s smile instantly vanished and I noticed he trembled slightly.
"Which is why I took precaution, Aldon..."
Instantly the ground below Aldon cracked and he was alerted but stood in his spot with a lace of confusion washing upon his features.
"...Tell me Aldon, do you think I will come here only for you to mock me with your heinous words and use the connection with my wife against me? Think again!"
At his last words, the ground crumbled more and hot lava poured out of it. The mere hotness of it enclosed even his own flames, it was more powerful than anything I have ever seen.
"W-What is this?" Aldon said with wide eyes and a panicked look I have never seen before. Aldon has never lost his composure before, it was a rare sight and it was... fulfilling.
William stretched his hand and pointed to the earth, crumbling almost like He was controlling it.
Is he?
"If death cannot take you because of the connection, then I will trap you in the very depths of it where you won’t see death... but live in it"
"N-No it can’t be! How!" he barked. "How did you get the very Underworld to work in your very favor?!"
"Easy... I made a deal"
I froze at William’s words. A deal? But the gods, magical beings, and not even a Demi-god such as William can do that! So how?!
"IMPOSSIBLE!" Aldon shouted and he flinched when a black hand emerged from the lava and grabbed Aldon’s leg.
"I didn’t come here to kill you Aldon... I came here to drag you to Hell"
"NO! DON’T TOUCH ME!" he screamed as more came and he tried to fight but it was futile as the black hands kept coming pulling him down into the lava as he screamed and thrashed around like a child, crying.
Just his upper torso remained now, the hands grabbing his face so tightly as they continued to drag him, tugging his face like they were about to pull it apart just to show how much force.
And then his silver eyes landed on me.
"AVELINE!" he called for me. "DON’T LET THEM TAKE ME! AVELINE!"
A tear slid down my cheek but it wasn’t out of pain or compassion, I was mourning the loss of the once good man I knew, Aldon... my light who was a compassionate boy back at the Isle of Pathways when we were given our duties, but his obsession and him going against his very nature destroyed him and made him a monster.
A monster that will forever haunt me.
"AVELINE!" he called as only his head remained and his left hand stretched out for me.
"Goodbye, Aldon"
"NO!"
He was taken and drowned in the lava which I knew was no doubt to the depths of the Underworld. And just like that, my greatest nemesis was forever trapped in the Underworld for eternity.
