Chapter 172: The Story Of Yin And The Fox Guardian {20}

"Who is William?!" His expression was fast changing and the once sad eyes he held were now replaced with raw anger.

"Let me-" she yelped when he wrapped his hand around her neck tightly. "No stop!" but it was too late, with the connection he had he saw everything, everything she has kept from him till this day.

"The Fox guardian, is that why? Is this why you left me? For him? For someone else!" he growled as the flame got more intense and now she could actually feel it burning through her skin.

She has to wake up now!

Aldon leaned close to her in a heartbeat. "You gave your heart to him..." Ava whimpered at his deadly tone. "And I will break it!"

"NO!" Ava roared awake in a panic, uncontrollable tears leaking from her eyes as she tussled around but strong arms held her still, and recognizing the hold she quickly hugged him and cried.

"A-Aldon... he knows!" She cried and she knew what that meant. William was in danger and that was the last thing she wanted. She won’t be able to forgive herself if William gets hurt.

She pulled away from him. "W-We have to find a way, I have to find a way to protect you"

"Ava," William said, unfazed by her words. Ava paused. "I found a way,"

"A-A way?"

He hugged her before she would say more. "Do you trust me?"

"Yes," she said without hesitating. She could feel him shaking, she could sense something was wrong but she was more bothered about the encounter she had with Aldon... She has to find a way to protect him because if Aldon finds him and hurts William she won’t be able to forgive herself even after death.

"William you have to-" she paused because suddenly she felt dizzy.

"Even if I tell you, you won’t go through with it, you have to trust me, Ava, I will do anything to keep you safe. I’m sorry"

"William," she said softly as her eyes grew heavy and she held onto him tightly for it felt like she was going to lose him. Was she? She didn’t want that! She would rather be with him.

"Don’t worry about Aldon, I will deal with him"

"Will-" she couldn’t finish as darkness found her, tears staining her cheeks.

After deep research, William found a way to protect Ava, to hide her in the mortal realm where he knew Aldon won’t be able to reach her but it came with a price.

Passing through the portal into the Mortal Realm had a heavy effect on Ava’s body, her aging was reverted, and also canceled the death clock ticking on her head. She would lose her memories and her powers and be just a regular human, the connection between her and Aldon will weaken, she will be safe, and the mortal realm is the last place Aldon will look for her.

William didn’t know how much effect this place will have on her but he knew one thing... the mortal realm won’t be pleasant for her.

But it was the safest place for her.

In the pouring rain just outside the gates of Thornwell Orphanage.

"You might not remember this or before... but know that I will always be here," William said, placing a palm on her chest. Ava was now a 2-year-old.

"This realm will be cruel to you... they will hate you for whatever reason... you will not understand it, you will even pray for death but death will never take you, for even you have control over it"

Little Ava was silent and did not have a spark of emotions, almost like a doll. But deep within William knew she listened, somewhere in her heart, he could feel it.

He spoke again but this time it was in Vampire language.

"I love you, Ava, forever until my heart stops beating" and then he placed a gentle kiss on her forehead before parting away and backing away from her.

And it took everything in his power to leave her there... leave her in the mortal Realm, it broke a part of him. But he knew this was the only way to keep her away from Aldon where he wouldn’t dare to find her. It was either the monster Aldon or here and It was a sacrifice he had to make... even though it meant parting away from her forever.

As long as she is safe.

One Year Later

Aldon emerged from the portal and his hard eyes fell on the library, with a storming anger he walked right into the building and to the library. It took him long before he could accumulate a lot of energy and walk outside the Elven Realm, and he finally succeeded, it was time to bring Aveline back.

☆☆☆

"Master" Elvenia said.

William was already alerted, feeling the unusual energy. "Leave right now!"

"No I will not!" she interjected. There was no way she was leaving her master to deal with this alone. They have long waited for Aldon to make an appearance and he was finally here... she will stand by her master until death.

William needed Elvenia to leave... but she was too stubborn to listen. The hairs at the back of William’s neck stood in alert and he twirled and found Aldon approaching them with a dark expression.

"So you’re the fox guardian" he began sternly as his eyes roamed the library, the all too familiar place that was given to Basker, and yet he felt him no more but instead all power of this place was connected to this boy.

He smirks, so this was him... the boy Aveline has given her heart to, he has never had such a desire to destroy something before.

It was a blur before Aldon could speak once again. William has already grabbed him by the throat and smashed him against the wall causing a wide range of destruction.

William’s eyes were drained of all color, his vampire side in full rage.

"You will regret the day you laid hands on her!" he flung him across the hall and Aldon crashed on multiple shelves but he was back on his feet like it was nothing.

"Careful, Fox guardian, you know what happens when you kill me... I die and she dies too"

William paused and his teeth clenched, he wanted nothing more than to rip his heart out but he knew he couldn’t do that. He and Ava were connected in many ways. She might be safe in the mortal Realm but there were still great risks, risks he cannot take.

"Now tell me where you hid her" he added in a deadly tone and William was unfazed. "Stubborn? Very well then" he stretched his hand where Elvenia stood and suddenly she was hung in the air choking.

"Let her go!"

"Either you tell me where Aveline is or I snap her neck"

William roared in anger baring his fangs and once again in a blur, Aldon was caught in William’s jaws of anger and Elvenia was set free.

She gasped for air holding her neck and coughed. "Master" her worried eyes scanned the destroyed shelves and found their way to Aldon and William holding each other at the throats with a burning gaze, their aura on haywire causing the air to drain. It was impossible to move just by the pressure.

"You’re powerless against me, William," Aldon said darkly as his grip on his neck further tightened. "I’m the first magical being.... and you’re way out of your league" In a snap Aldon digs his hand into William’s chest.

"MASTER!"

Blood dripped to the floor and spilled from William’s lips but yet he stood his ground.

"Aveline is out of your league, she is beneath you... and you’re just a demi-god who didn’t know any better!"

"Let him go!" Elvenia yelped wanting so badly to get to him but she couldn’t move the aura hanging in the area causing her body to be frozen on the spot. Tears leaked from her eyes, watching the pool of William’s blood cover the spot they stood.

William dropped to one kneel and the library began shaking... the walls cracking and the shelves crumbling.

Aldon looked at what unfolds. "As much as I would love to destroy you, I can’t. Your heart is connected to this Library and destroying it will only be a pain for me" he smiled and leaned to William who kept his deadly gaze on him.

"I see all... I see your life purpose" Aldon said chuckling, he could see it all. Suddenly his smile vanished from his lips. "So I curse you William, guardian of the Holy library. I curse you to seek Aveline as your Fairy without having the knowledge of who she is..." he said and flames formed out of thin air and circled them.

"You took her away from me... and you will bring her back" he retreated his hand from William’s chest and William vomited a ton of blood on the floor.

"You shouldn’t have come between us William, it was your mistake"

William struggled to breathe but he couldn’t; he could feel the spell working its way through his body and mind.

"Her entirety has always been mine... long before you were even born!"

He was going to forget Ava and that thought alone made him panic.

"I want you to know how it feels... to have the one you love and then they vanish from your hold, I want you to know despair as I did"
