Chapter 159: The Story Of Yin And The Fox Guardian {7}
THE HOLY LIBRARY
"Master?" Elvenia called in the library and her voice only echoed back to her with no response, where is he? She hadn’t seen him for days and she was worried about him.
"Master!" Still no response and Elvenia has never been more anxious in her entire life before as she searched the empty library for her master in hopes of seeing him.
Because she could still vividly remember that day, out of worry she had sneaked out to follow him and alas there he was talking to the empty air but it was so filled with emotions for her to think he just talking to an invisible person, he talked like she was actually there, and he could feel her, maybe she was real after all.
But after a while, she felt a shift in his emotions like something was wrong and then he called the name ’Ava’ with panic lacing the end corners of his tone. Something must have happened because the moment William looked at her when she called his name, his eyes were glassy and the tears were about to fall.
Stopping, Elvenia senses a presence just at her right and she turns, finding William seated on the ground, his back against the shelf, one of his knees up and his arm resting on it, the other laid straight out and his eyes staring at the ceiling, lost.
Elvenia’s eyes trembled at the mere sight of him, ever since William has matured in age he remained composed but now it was the total opposite. Her chest gave a heavy sensation just at the sight of him. Biting her bottom lip she walked behind to the exact same shelf he rested on and sat there just at the other side and rested her back on it.
"I have been looking everywhere for you master" Elevnia began but William said nothing she sighed deeply. "I-I was worried" she adds with a heavy heart. "She is real isn’t she?"
"I don’t know" his voice came.
"Well, judging from the way you’re acting she just might be... I see the emotions crumble in your face, did something happen?"
Silence followed and Elvenia was beginning to doubt that William would talk about it, she had already decided to leave him alone to his thoughts seeing that this might not be a good time to talk to him but his sudden words stopped her.
"I-I made her cry"
This was the first time her master has ever stammered on his words and it once again stunned her.
"I told her she was not real... I hurt her Elvenia, and I hate myself for it, there is this indescribable pain in my chest that just won’t stop"
Elvenia’s lips quivered at his words, with every word he uttered she could feel the crumbling of his voice breaking like the mountain was smashing to pieces and all that was holding it was a single thread.
"She vanished right before my eyes... you were right Elvenia, maybe it was all in my head, maybe I was making it all up and mentally told myself it was all real, the 8 years I spent with her... maybe it was a dream"
A tear slid down Elvenia’s cheek. "She’s real... William" this was the first time she had used his name since the very moment she awoke human. "She’s real because you make her real"
William’s body stiffened at her words, Elvenia was always the one who barely talks to him and only about asking if what he taught her was done right, but right now it wasn’t only about that, she was trying to speak to him, heart-to-heart conservation.
"For years I thought you have chased the ghost in your head, chasing after empty air"
’And it hurts’ she thought in her head.
"Spend all your day in an empty space but when I hear your laughter I knew she must have been someone who brought out sides of you"
’It hurts to see you laugh for someone else’
"I thought you might be losing your mind but each time I studied you, I see the genuine look in your eyes"
’A look you never gave me...’
"You laugh your heart out and you smile your brightest, I was never there whenever you meet her because I felt it wasn’t right and I wanted you to enjoy your moment"
’I broke each day seeing you show affection I never thought you would have to someone else’
"But I watch from afar, watching you run around and play and for a minute I would actually imagine she was actually there "
’It hurts seeing you with someone else’
"And that Wiliam... that is more real than anything I have ever seen because it was as if I could actually feel your emotions exploding right at that moment, at your fullest spirit and I knew... she is not a ghost or a mere fragment of your emotions... she is real to you and you feel her, and that is enough. She is real for you"
William couldn’t help it now for the tears streamed down his eyes endlessly and out of control, as he pictured all those moments he spent with Ava, how could he have thought for even a second that none of that was real, that she never existed? It didn’t matter anymore... she was always there giving him her smiles and watching him paint, even following him around, taught him many things that made him seem more human. And when he forgets she always came back and still had a smile even though he didn’t have the faintest idea who she was and yet they still made it work. Their friendship blossomed into a deep connection, into something spectacular, something he thought he would never experience
And maybe their friendship blossoms into something way more.
"Do you love her master?"
Love? Is this how love feels like? To feel a deep connection to someone and felt like part of you was missing, when she shed tears before him after the things he said to her, he felt like he wanted to rip out his own heart.
Elevnia closed her eyes as the silent tears fell, resting the back of her head behind the self and staring at the ceiling.
"Then you have your answer... Master" she forced a smile.
"She has a soulmate," William said, closing his eyes and resting his head behind the shelf. "But I don’t care because I still want to spend time with her... I want to hear her laughter and see her smile, those things are more than enough for me"
He inhaled sharply. "I want to see her again"

AETHEL
{Trigger Warning: Nonconsent Touch}
Aveline didn’t stop crying as she forced her body off the bed.
’I will make you feel better Aveline’
’Not the main thing but I can pleasure you’
’I will take the pain away’
His words were like a dagger to her heart and what began as a kiss that Aveline told him she didn’t want but yet he kept going... until he was eventually touching her in places she didn’t like and she told him to stop but he didn’t until he got his satisfaction. Saying all through it was meant to be.
Aveline didn’t feel any amount of pleasure and only disgust, she was meant to feel something for him, anything because they were soulmates, and yet nothing came, and tomorrow she will be betrothed to him and this hell will continue.
Aveline didn’t understand any of this, her affections would be there for Aldon, they were lovers in their past life, right? Even though she didn’t remember a thing she was supposed to at least feel. But it was nothing but distaste and everything just felt revolting for her. And brewing hatred stormed her as she let her gaze fall on a soundly asleep Aldon.
Like he hadn’t just touched her against her will, while she cried and told him to stop and he murmured loving things to her as he explored her body like she was some specimen.
If he was like this right now how would their wedding night be? Aveline didn’t want to even think about it because she knew how it would end, something she didn’t want would eventually turn into a nightmare, worse than what happened that night. In the eyes of their parents, they were some perfect couple that existed in the beginning. The underlying connection of yin and yang and now reincarnated as brothers and sisters and bound by the law for elves they will marry, it was almost as if everything was some perfect play and all this didn’t seem right the moment she was groomed to be his bride.
There was a lingering feeling in her heart telling her that this was way more than what it should be.
She rose to her feet and set her nightgown right, her eyes scanning Aldon’s room for anything at all. She has been naive all her life, giving in to everything he has imprinted on her brain and it was when she was with William she knew what it meant to have free will but here she felt caged and she will find the reason why.
Aldon was keeping something from her and she will find out what.
