Chapter 136: Aethel

¤●¤

I was pulled down, by the current or by multiple hands against my body, I cannot tell which... I just knew something was taking me into the depths of the unknown and I can’t move my body, I can’t even open my eyes, or move. I could feel the texture of the bed but at the time I felt deep underwater. I could feel a hand against mine, holding me tightly not wanting to let go but at the same time I cannot feel it but the cold depths of water I have been submerged into.

Physically I’m there where that hand holds me, but it feels like my spirit has traveled into the depths. I felt like I was disconnecting from reality and the more I tried to hold onto that warmth, I found it gone... I find it drifting away from me. With only one question that can be the answer to this.

Am I dying?

"Aveline"

A voice echoed in my ear, pulling me out of the depths, and my body came to me, the movement, the sound of my heartbeat, and another hold against me.

"Aveline"

I flinched until I slowly opened my eyes, everything was too bright and my eyes narrowed because of the light, but suddenly it was like something shielded it, and I was able to open my eyes fully. I caught some falling plants of flowers like a curtain dropping before me. And shielding the harsh sunlight away.

I tried to move but I felt arms around me. I looked up and found silver eyes staring down at me.

"Aldon," I said.

A smile found his lips. "You have found your way to me," he says. "But not completely though"

And I recalled it... after working with Elvenia I went to William telling him about my day until suddenly I couldn’t breathe and next was darkness. I gasped pulling away and he was startled by my actions but quickly composed himself.

"W-What do you mean I have found my way here?" I demand with a frown on my features.

"Breathe Aveline, calm down"

But I didn’t listen. I was up on my feet and suddenly my gown felt longer than what I wore before, but I was too focused in my panic, so I rushed out of the flower curtains and my actions ceased when I saw the view before me.

I inhaled sharply.

We seemed to be on top of a valley because the view was down below. My gaze traveled to a foreign place, it was so beautiful, like a magical forest, with waterfalls, ponds, trees, birds, and people. I couldn’t see much from here but I knew this mythical forest was different from the one the library stayed in, so what was this place? The beauty was unreal.

But that was just a glimpse of it. What followed left me utterly tongue-tied, there were tall buildings that looked like towers almost reaching the skies... covered in green plants and flowers.

It gave the view an enchanting scenery, completing it and it looked like a whole new civilization altogether. It felt too unreal like something out of a painting, the rainbows in the skies, the sounds of the waterfall, and the flashes of beautiful people dressed in velvet clothing. The sounds of birds, the cool air, the fresh smell of grasses and flowers, the clear air, and at each intake it felt like I was coming alive more.

Beauty doesn’t describe what lay before my eyes, I was merely fascinated to the point I didn’t move for a whole hour, as I let myself bask in this esoteric view. Unable to shift my eyes from it, I wanted to imprint each scenery in my head.

"Aveline"

I turned to Aldon who walked toward me, he didn’t have his velvet hood on, and he looked quite different without it. His attire suited him perfectly and I must admit he looked majestic, his attire was a silver velvet cloth that matched his eyes, with visible leaf-like design around it.

"Where am I?" I refused to let myself scan through his handsome features, although tempting, and his smile made him look more handsome, giving his divine presence and aura more light. But there is only one man I would gaze upon until my eyes fall out.

He walked to me majestically and stood beside me and I kept my eyes on him. "This is Aethel, your home, and your birthplace"

A pause came from me, an utter pause as my eyes slowly widened, I paused in time as his words echoed in my head. He only smiled at my action and placed a hand on my shoulder and turned me gently back to the view.

My home? My Birthplace? I couldn’t stop the tears that fell down my cheeks, and my lips quivered. An unexplainable feeling finds its way to my chest.

"Welcome home, Aveline," he says to my ear.

He led me to a tree and a mirror was embodied on the bark and my lips parted when I saw my expression. I looked just like I did in my dreams. I had long amber hair and not my usual brown hair color, it reached the back of my knees too, and around my forehead was a silver crown of flowers, glittering under the bright sunlight. My eyes were a bright vermilion color.

Is this me?

"Yes," Aldon said, like he could read my mind.

I gulped looking down at my velvet slender gown, my physic looked different too, I was slender and yet curvy in the right places, I looked like those beauty maidens I saw in books, whenever I read about the goddess of the realms.

Am I?

"You are only here in your spirit form"

I turned my gaze to Aldon.

"Your spirit finds its way here, and next your body will too, only a matter of time, my star"

My star?

He took my hand. "You have no idea how long I have waited for you"
