Chapter 131: Mindful Things
Chapter 131: Mindful Things
’Busy’ doesn’t describe William’s long absence, I haven’t even seen a glimpse of him for a whole two days, two days! Ugh! Just thinking about it got me more vexed than I wanted to be. I have only seen Severus and he told me the master was cataloging new forbidden knowledge and does not wish to be disturbed since it can be very time-consuming especially when the said knowledge appears in the northern wing itself, it takes time and deep concentration to handle such books and only William can do it.
No one else but him... it was a very delicate assignment the library tasked him with.
But I miss him
I miss his face
And I miss his voice
I have acted awful to him after finding out the truth about why I ended up in the mortal realm, I knew there were many things left unexplainable but I was no longer mad at him, I can’t stay mad at him, instead, I want to find out his reason just as much as I do, what happened came as a shock to me and I acted upon that without thinking it through. Making the whole month hellish for him.
I want to look at it from a different perspective.
I want to make up for my harsh actions but William wasn’t exactly here, was he? After he left me just like that with words that still jammed through my very brain like a mantra.
’Be a good girl for me these past few days, alright? And then maybe I will ’Fuck’ you, sweetness’
Ugh! He’s unbelievable! How does he expect me to contain myself after he says such hot words to me? I remember vividly telling him with my eyes how much I want him, an unspoken desire dancing in my lust-driven gaze was everything and enough for him to see... I wasn’t exactly satisfied after he heavily stimulated me, it was torture after his sweet bite, I wasn’t myself that entire night, and much embarrassing as it is I even touch myself again, yes, it did relieve some tension from his absence but it did nothing to ease the ache between my legs.
Only William can ease the ache.
Only him!
"Do you really have to be here, my lady?"
"Huh?"
"Ha lost in the head again?" Came Elvenia as she spread the wash clothes on the rope.
I shrugged. "I’m bored" I mumbled, handing her some clothes to spread which she took. Even though I begged her to allow me to do something because I didn’t feel like reading in the library or staying alone in an empty chamber, she declined instantly, at least she didn’t say no to me helping her spread the clothes.
"William has been gone for two days" I whined like a child, not minding how clingy I sounded.
"Hmm... it seems work at the northern wing will be quite tedious, sometimes he spends up to months there"
"What?!"
She rolled her eyes and I felt like I would pass out. "You’re odd my lady, the past month you spent it being angry at him and avoiding but now you can’t wait to be glued next to him," she said carrying the empty basket and walking ahead.
"I-I’m not angry anymore!" I called rushing towards her much to her disagreement.

"Sophia, don’t touch that!"
She gave me a pouting look with eager attempts to dip her hand in the mud. Seeing she was being obedient after I told her not to I looked around at the glass house where the vegetables and plants were grown, mostly what was used for cooking, this is where Elvenia gets her ingredients from, it was beautiful and it was the biggest plantation I have ever seen, enclosed entirely by the glass.
This lay just behind the library at a far distance, the land of the library was extremely broad on its own and I had no idea a place like this existed.
I followed her here hoping to assist and after my several bugging she let me and I helped her pick plants just as she taught me, at least I wasn’t a disaster here, I was actually pretty good with this.
I was in even more shock when she told me that Severus and William were the ones who planted all these, it was very interesting and it was a sudden urge to see William plant, perhaps shirtless? I blushed. Or maybe see him do MANY things.
I cleared my throat ridding myself of more thoughts like that or it would basically be more torture for me, anytime I let my mind wander to him and what his lips or fingers would d... I would subconsciously release my aura, and because of me Elvenia has been sweating like an animal and kept glaring at me to control myself.
I engaged in a talk with Elvenia about the forest and it was all we talked about ever since we came here to work. Sophia helped us arrange the baskets as we both uprooted some carrots and garbage, wearing gloves and aprons.
"There is nothing much about the Forest even though it’s home to many magical creatures, you can say it’s like your normal town back in the mortal realm"
"Really?"
She nodded, directing me on how to dig the ground without messing up and I followed her instructions all the while listening to her little experience down the hill.
"I go there sometimes when there is free time, I converse too, I still recognize some creatures back when I was a butterfly, just a few who I encountered, everyone has what they tend to, who stays in the water, trees, it just peaceful"
With everything she said then the forest must be like any other town, except for the magical traits. She told me they never dared to come up the hill of the library, the place was considered a restricted place, only the unwanted beings who dared to step foot when they were hungry for knowledge and it was very well a big mistake, most especially Severus being the last unwanted being to come here, they thought he was dead!
It was just like living in a castle with no idea what the rest of the world holds. She also went as far as explaining how the mermaids being the grumpy creatures they keep to themselves, even though they were well known for information.
"Well known for information?"
"Their oceans and rivers spread far, so you can say they know many things"
I suddenly remembered the mermaid I encountered months ago, if mermaids truly are the ones for information then maybe they might know about the elves. But I doubt that... because William would have been the first to confront them, but maybe I could ask about the sprites? I remember that pixie telling me about where they settled, I don’t remember what she called the place again.
"If it’s like a town is there something like a leader or a mayor?"
"Never heard of one," Elvenia mumbled.
A whole settlement of different species of magical creatures and no one kept them at bay? I find that hard to believe. Even though the Holy Library stood as a castle and a sacred place, William didn’t meddle with them so it was none of his business to look after them because they were afraid of him.
There must be someone... someone who they might recognize as their leader, or is it the Elves? I remembered reading from the book that this forest was The Elven Woods because it belonged to them and they were the ones who created Sprites in their own image. But basically, they don’t exist anymore.
I sighed, having a hot head after all this talk. I was getting nowhere with my little findings and William was busy right now with the heart of the library. I really needed to find a way to encounter that Elf I saw that night.
I suddenly hissed.
"What’s wrong?" Elvenia asked instantly, turning to me and I spotted worry in her eyes but the moment it came it was gone.
"N-Nothing just felt a sting from my back" I mumbled, I have been getting that quite a lot ever since that Isle of Pathways revealed that memory to me. It mostly came from my upper shoulder behind where my birthmark was imprinted.
I wonder why...
☆☆☆
Another night and I was yet to sleep. Most of the time like this I just stare at the ceiling until sleep eventually takes me, but I cannot sleep now... I would have gone to William even if it’s to see his face but the doors were locked. It was always like that whenever he was there at work according to Severus, I just really hoped I would see him because I truly miss him.
Craving some air and nature, I got off the bed, grabbed my robe and wore it on top of my nightgown, and ventured out of my chambers. I sat on the bench in the garden watching the skies filled with stars, an action like this gave me peace and a clear head, it was a tranquil view that let me drown in it and think of nothing else.
The sudden wind blew and I covered myself more but it wasn’t only just it that blew through but a foreign language came like a sentence. I was up on my feet with a start.
"W-Who’s there?!" I questioned, suddenly feeling a presence, it was powerful and it caused me to shudder, and the aura was quite hard to detect and explain.
I hissed when my mark stung again but this time it was much more painful. The foreign language came again and I raised my gaze and stilled when I met with silver eyes.
