SILVER-HEART
Chapter 116: You Will Always Catch Me

Chapter 116: You Will Always Catch Me

I’m sore again, this is not a statement but a fact, a fact of me taunting my husband, now I know why he told me no... but I don’t regret it I love every bit of it both subtle and rough, it was HIM and it was all I want and I accept nothing him.

And I can’t believe this is happening right now, I was giggly and I couldn’t wipe the smile off my face. With itchy hands I reached for the comb on the nightstand and went on my knees on the bed.

"There is no need to do this Ava, my hair doesn’t get tangled naturally"

I completely ignored him as I settled my desires, using the comb to go through his hair, dear gods! It went through so easily! He was right, there was not a spot out of place, it was just perfect!

"I love your hair" I mumbled, getting lost in the texture of it, running the comb through it, loving how soft and straight it fell, like a series of threads.

"Thank you" I heard William and I smiled.

"Do you really have to do this here?" I asked, observing him go through a scroll.

"Hmm, it is important so Severus brought it to me. Besides I’m the only one that can read it" he mumbled completely lost in the words written on it, words I don’t understand and cannot read, this was the first time I have something like that. It was written in some sort of language and the letters were barely visible or readable.

But yet my husband scanned through it like it was nothing.

"What is that?" I asked curiously.

"The library doesn’t only bring knowledge it brings balance too, things that are meant to be balanced will be seen to as long as it doesn’t disturb the anchor of knowledge"

"So like a task to do?"

"Yes"

And I only thought it was just cataloging new knowledge, so William was given tasks to perform.

"It rarely comes but when it does an envoy is needed from the library to oversee it, undercover. Mostly in the mortal Realm"

I instantly stopped brushing his hair but he didn’t seem to notice as he kept going through the words.

"But I have only Severus to tend to this, It cannot be ignored"

"I see," I mumbled. "B-But why let Severus tend to it?"

"I don’t exist anywhere else but here, being out of this dimension is risky even if I have the mask on the risks are far greater, and the price is my health deteriorating"

And yet he spent 700 centuries searching for me, centuries and centuries, putting his health in danger, because of a prophecy, a prophecy I was yet to understand.

There are so many questions now and the more I ignore them the bigger it will get.

"About your tail" I began watching him read the last line of the scroll.

"Yes," he says, rolling it back and tying the knot.

"It’s because you’re a fox guardian, but not actually a fox right?"

He rose to his feet facing me. "I’m a fox, sweetness," he said plain and simple but the shock that overcame my features was definitely not one of plain and simple.

My breath hitched. "You mean like the little cute foxes I see in books, like Sophia?"

"No wife, my fox form is not CUTE," he said, emphasizing the word ’cute’ Like it was a bad thing.

"I want to see it," I said, getting excited.

He gave me a pinning-down gaze and said nothing.

"Please" I whined.

"First we talk about your dream and then we-"

"Race you to the garden!"

"What?!"

I was already bolting out of the chambers while laughing like a lunatic.

"Hells, Ava!"

But I didn’t stop until I was at the entrance, the door spread open in my presence and I rushed out into the night, my feet against the platform as I ran, rounding the water fountain and making it to the garden. I instantly halted to catch my breath.

Just this little run got me breathless, my hand on my knees as I tried to catch my breath. My smile didn’t cease as I straightened up and turned behind, but it fell when I did not see William.

"William?" I called.

He didn’t come after me?

I faced ahead but I bumped into a wall, but there were no walls in front of me so I took a step back and met with crystal green eyes, my smile instantly returned.

He gave me a warning look. "Av-"

I ran again while giggling, running through the garden. It was so broad, almost like a forest of its own and there was much to run through. I mostly liked the ponds and patios in each area as well as stairs.

I screamed when a set of large arms grabbed me from behind, my giggles echoing throughout the entire area.

"Will you stop running?"

"You will always catch me won’t you?"

He spun me keeping his hands on my waist, with no amused look as he answered me. "Of course"

It had my heart fluttering for I knew he meant it.

"Promise?" I added softly.

He gave me a skeptical look with narrowed eyes but he still answered. "Promise" he was about to speak again but I didn’t let him.

"Can I see your fox form now?" I whined like a child.

He sighed.

"If I do it, will we finally talk about your dream?"

I nodded eagerly and he sighed once again in defeat. He let me go and took a step back.

"Close your eyes"

I quickly did as I was told, shutting them, and waiting patiently as the cool wind kissed my skin, after waiting for a minute I became curious.

"William?"

There was no answer and I was getting worried now... not until I felt something soft rubbed against my cheek like a gentle rub and then I opened my eyes.

A gasp left me.

Before me wasn’t exactly cute, I was expecting a little white fluffy fox but instead, I got ten feet, intimidating fox, the power that radiated off him wasn’t compared to when he was in human form, it was so mighty to the point I remained frozen in spot, his dark aura was more profound than ever and it was nothing like before, so chaotic but yet so subtle in my eyes.

Silver fur, crystal green eyes beaming ever so brightly than I have ever seen, and the crescent moon mark on his forehead was just as beautiful. He came again and rubbed his face at the side of my head and a powerful chill flooded my body, it was so soft and wonderful.

’Do I look cute to you now?’

I flashed my eyes open at the sudden voice in my head, he just spoke to me through thoughts, amazing. I felt his face with my hand gripping it as I placed my forehead on his.

’Not just cute but you’re beautiful too’.

He licked my face and I giggled, I wrapped my arms around his neck, loving how his fur felt against my body. He continued to rub his face on mine and several giggles left me.

He seemed even more touchy in his fox form, I also noticed the gentle sway of his tail. He moved past me but his tail lingered on my body as he walked ahead and then turned to me.

’Can we talk now?’

My smile slowly fades. "Just a little longer," I said in a whisper but I knew he heard me.

So he adhered to my wishes and we spent the night together and it was beyond magical. What I loved the most was when his head rested on my lap and I gently ran my hands through his fur in an up-and-down motion. He made little noises but I couldn’t make it out I knew for certain it was a purr

He is definitely cute!

Ava doesn’t want to talk about her dream, it took him several trials for him to come to that conclusion. She always found a way to divert the topic, even as she awoke from it she only just wanted him and didn’t want to talk, even when something would lead to it she would quickly say something else.

Something must have happened when she returned to the Isle of Pathways, that was the only explanation, she must have reached the end of the path and seen something... something she doesn’t want to talk about and he won’t push her.

But that doesn’t mean he wasn’t worried.

She was asleep now... after she spent the night flaunting his fox form like she just got a new treasure, making her touches on his fur a blessing, he never knew how much he needed this until now.

After she fell asleep he reverted to his Human form and now it was her who had her head on his lap, soundly asleep and he only just watched her.

Everything that transpired after meeting Elf resonated in his head, he talked to Severus about it and they were doing their digging but it still hasn’t brought definite proof that the elves still exist.

But with the coming of Ava who was not the fairy in the prophecy but has similar qualities as one, why? Her elven blood was enough proof that wasn’t a fairy but yet she gave off the scent of one, had qualities of one, and desired one.

There was much to unravel and he had no time to spare.
