Chapter 112: The Isle Of Pathways
"In my dream when I come to it... the skies are so bright, reflecting on all the grasses, making it so green and shiny, and then the giant trees around me reaching the very skies, grown like it was made to be a wall of them, all leading to a single path, an end I never reach" I explained staring into space and recalling every detail, it was almost like I stood there again, breathe the air that place gave off even.
Strange.
"I look different too... Everything feels different, it’s like I’m at the edge of something, and at the same time I feel lost and all I just want to do is find my way. That path feels like it’s calling me and the sense of familiarity tells me that... I don’t know, it just feels..." I trailed having no way of explaining, everything about that place just feels divine, even I... feel divine. I could still remember my reflection, long knee-length amber hair, and vermillion eyes, I was having a hard time believing that was me but it turns out I was the one.
"Ava"
I darted my confused gaze to my husband, staring at me like I had two heads.
"What?" it was a whisper, and then it hit me. "You know about that place" It wasn’t a question.
He sat up swiftly carrying me along and my feet found the floor. "Follow me", his only words and I made sure I stood beside him, although I was having a hard time keeping up.
His legs are too long!
So I grabbed his arm and he noticed, slowing down.
"Is something wrong, William?"
"I need to be sure" were his only words as we kept walking around the hall of shelves, it was endless, and with every turn my head spun, so I grip him hard to keep myself straight.
Suddenly he stopped and I took a deep breath of relief, William murmured something while stretching his hand to the air and then a white book descended from the top shelves to his stretched-out hand.
White book? That’s the first I have seen.
It was extremely beautiful, with a golden inscription on it and markings, all perfectly detailed. William opened it and flipped through it and I waited patiently but with a pounding heartbeat.
"Here" he showed me a picture. "Is this what you saw?"
I observed the picture, although drawn in golden ink, it was well detailed, the hall of trees.
"Yes!" I exclaimed and then I blinked when I saw a tiny figure in the middle, it looked like a... girl?
"This is the Isle of Pathways"
"T-The Isle of P-Pathways," I said reading the writing.
"Ava"
I moved my gaze to him, he looked... worried?
"This is an archaic place... it is the center of time and space. The center of the library and this forest... a link between the two and more geriatric than the library itself, it is said it came forth in this dimension before the library began existing or the forest"
I gulped as he explained. "Then why am I dreaming of something like that?"
I noticed he inhaled sharply.
"William"
"You have to reach where the tree leads to... that place is too powerful to constantly dream about, it will eat away your life force the more you visit that place, no magical being can handle its effect"
My nerves instantly spiked.
"How long have you dreamed about this?"
"I-I don’t know" I trembled looking sideways and biting my bottom lip. Suddenly feeling William’s hand on mine, my tense muscles relaxed and I directed my quivering gaze to his.
"I won’t let anything happen to you," he said with such vehemence pinning me down with his frenzied gaze.
And I was only able to stroke a nod.
"But we have to find a way for you to reach that end, and stop dreaming about it. Sometimes the Isle of Pathways is a way of Revelation"

This is beyond anything William has ever thought of... the very least he has expected. When Ava started describing her dream he was still in place not able to believe his ears, he just silently prayed it wasn’t true... but Ava remains a mystery ever since he found out she might have elven blood.
Now she’s dreaming about the Isle of Pathways? No one... not even him or basker have any connection to that place, but here Ava was simply dreaming about it.
She’s connected to that place... but it is dangerous, it’s too powerful and the more she visits it her life force will most likely be drained.
But why is she dreaming about it in the first place? Why her? She could be connected to that place, but why? Because she’s elven blood? When he read about the elves not even them have made contact with the Isle of Pathways, like he explained before it was an old place, archaic, the elves although the ancientest mystical creature in the realms have not come to be when that place existed.
The only way to stop this... was to walk towards that path it led to, the very end, it was called the Isle of Pathways for a reason, the end of the path spells the end of the dream.
He would do anything to protect her, but this solely rests on her shoulders as much as he hated it, she has to come to that decision.
"Ava" he began in a soft tone, taking one knee to the ground so that he was eye level with her, so that her attention rested on her him only.
"Listen to me..." he held her hands with both of his. "When you reach that end it spells the end of the dream, it’s trying to tell you something and you have to find it out, it’s the only reasonable explanation why you’re dreaming about it"
"I-I’m scared" Her voice was a faint whisper and it broke his heart. He mentally cursed himself by telling her it would drain her life force, that was a mistake on his part, but what better way than to tell her? The gravity of what she is dreaming about?
It is dangerous and he wants her as far away from it as possible.
"Do you trust me, sweetness?"
She nodded with her big eyes on him, and a small smile found his lips. She was beautiful each day and for his eyes to gaze upon, his perfect little fairy.
"Then you must do as I say"
