Chapter 111: About The Strange Man
¤●¤
I awoke with a groan, nestling more to the body holding me tight, a smile on my lips.
"William," I said gently and a kiss found my forehead causing me to open my eyes and meet with crystal green ones.
"Go back to sleep, your body still needs rest" he cupped my cheek, gently stroking it with his thumb. A hint of worry in his orbs. I blushed.
"I-I feel okay"
I felt very tired, and my eyes were heavy too but I didn’t want him to worry.
"I doubt it" Something flashed in his eyes. "Did I go too far?"
I shook my head leaning more to his touch. "Everything was perfect" I attempted to move my leg to settle between him but that was a mistake on my part, I hissed in pain and a frown found my features.
It hurts so bad!
"It appears I did go too far" he was about to get up but I stopped him. "Ava, you need to heal, a bath will help"
I shook my head. "No baths, at least not now"
I just want to be in his arms longer.
"What is wrong?" he asked, sensing something. I said nothing, laying him back down in the position he was before.
"When I left that night... I heard voices, I didn’t mean to follow them," I began with a heavy tone, I wanted us to talk about, I wanted him to know that I didn’t mean to leave him and that I would never. "It felt like it was calling me and before I knew it" I paused, blinking, recalling the voices again... no the vocalizing tone, it sounded so divine, one that was enough to lift one’s spirit so emphatic and yet so delicate.
’The tune... Ava, listen more closely and you will know what it means’.
That strange man’s words found me, and it was like deja vu all over again. How did he know my name?
Who is he?
And what happened when William found me with him?
"I forgive you Ava, there’s no need to apologize" Williams’s words broke me out of my thoughts and I let my orbs dart to it, the storming anger was gone, it has been ever since the library.
But I needed to talk about something different.
I nodded. "But that man, do you know who he was?"
"That is no man"
I gulped at his sudden icy tone.
"T-Then what is he?"
I was completely curious, he has pointy ears although not as pointy as Elvenia which were long but he was medium and less visible, I even still recalled the ring at the top of it, down to the last detail, everything about that man was utterly strange, with an aura I have never felt before.
Everything was imprinted to my very memory and as well as that dream, it was clear as day.
Silence came and I was beginning to think William wouldn’t say anything. I was about to speak but he picked me up like a feather and started marching to the door leading to the bath.
"William!" I gasped quickly, wrapping my arms around him for support.
"You wake up and the first thing you want to do is talk about that creature?!" his jaw clenched, it was as if the mere talk about that strange man aggravated him.
"Are you angry?" I asked softly, burying my face in his neck and suddenly feeling tired.
I don’t remember William replying to me as fatigue took over my body once again.
☆☆☆
My shoes echoed in the hall as I made my way toward William’s office, keeping my nerves in check and my features firm. Mentally telling myself there was no reason to panic.
My eyes darted to William and Severus, checking something on a book and William telling him what to do and Severus giving him curt nods before bowing and leaving towards the other path. Perfect timing.
I cleared my throat as I climbed the stairs slightly lifting my gown from the sides, William’s eyes darted to me and a small smirk found his lips although to make his eyes twinkle.
So beautiful.
"Afternoon Husband," I said with a smile on my lips.
"Afternoon Wife," he said, leaning back on his chair and keeping his eyes trained on me.
I blushed rounding the table, and slid onto his lap, his hands automatically resting on my waist like it was designed to.
"Shouldn’t you be in bed?"
"I feel much better now" I rested my hands on his shoulder. "William"
"Yes, sweetness?"
"I want to learn about magical creatures"
There was a pause from him, almost like he didn’t expect me to say that, he blinked before speaking. "You still haven’t finished your other studies yet, it is important to learn the things of normal first"
"But I believe I have learned so much... I really need to know about the magical world"
He only nodded in understanding looking to the side and I knew he was thinking, he has been awfully quiet ever since I asked about that man, maybe learning the magical creature will help me find out.
But will he agree to that? I mean learning about magical creatures will make me learn about that man and Wi-
"Very well, I will let Severus assign you to one of the shelves reversed for it,"
I backtracked, I really didn’t expect him to say that.
"O-Okay"
"Why?" he raised an eyebrow already sensing my discomfort. "You didn’t think I would agree"
I only nod.
"You were bound to ask, ’ m bound to agree"
I shut my parted mouth. That was reasonable.
"Ava?"
I darted my eyes back to his. "Have you heard any voices again?" He asked with narrowed eyes.
"No"
Unfortunately, there haven’t been any... I wonder why, but it did happen once and I don’t expect it to happen again.
"Is there any other thing you wish to tell me?"
"A dream"
"Dream?"
I nodded.
"I dream standing in a hall of trees leading to a path I never reach"
