Chapter 105: His Hurt

It came again... the tune. Resonating in my head like a repeated rhythm.

The tune... and then the images played, I stood in that same hall of trees, but this time I didn’t linger long, I walked in hopes of reaching the end of it, a desperate cause of the action for the pull was too strong. I walked further and the more I did the tune got louder, I could almost get the sound of it... almost.

It was someone vocalizing, no... not just one person but more.

Suddenly everything starts to fade and with a blink from me, the whole image and connection are gone. Everything was lost to the deep ends of my mind.

But this time I didn’t forget.

I flicked my eyes open, and everything began blurry but with several blinks my vision cleared and I met with a familiar bed ceiling.

I’m back home?

I subconsciously gripped the bed and turned to my side, finding William sitting there, a smile instantly found my lips.

"William" I breathed softly, an unknown warmth in my chest swirling as I set my eyes on him but suddenly my smile suddenly fades when I take in his position.

He was sitting with his arms resting on his knees and his gaze on the ground. Something feels off, his aura was strange too, I can’t even get a read on it.

"William," I said quickly, sitting up, my heartbeat pulsating, I knew why he was like this, this is all my fault, just because I wondered mindlessly because of some tune. He must have been worried, must have searched for me. Even though I didn’t know exactly where I was going, my sore feets told me I wandered too far.

Just how long before he found me?

The thought of him waking up from his sleep and finding me gone, made my heart squeeze. It was an odd feeling but the sensation told me I could feel exactly what he felt.

I opened my mouth to speak but that was when his luscious voice came.

"Are you hurt?" a simple question as he raised his gaze to me and I almost melted when I saw his unreadable eyes, the color in his crystal green orbs was dull, he looked sad but at the same time, he didn’t show it. I almost had an urge to wrap my arms around him and give him a tight hug but I refrained from doing so... I can’t read his emotions right now but I knew he was hurt and angry.

I bit my bottom lip, unable to find my voice and just settled with a simple shake of my head.

"Did anyone hurt you?"

I shook my head, patiently waiting for the main question, the main question hanging in the air and just wanting to be voiced.

"Did that..." his teeth clenched almost in hesitation with his words. "... creature hurt you?"

Creature?

I blinked in confusion now before the memories came of that beautiful divine man I saw, but I don’t remember anything else other than talking to him before I mysteriously fell asleep.

So I shook my head, but I wasn’t too sure. Is that why William is angry, did he hurt me? But I feel okay, except for my sore feet from all the walking.

I noticed an intake of breath from William before he nodded. "Elvenia will attend to you, I have work in the Library," he said pulling some strand of my hand behind my ear, but that was it, just a gesture, I didn’t feel his touch, it was almost like he didn’t do it at all.

I could only watch tongue-tied as my husband walked out of the room and the tightened air released and I hitched in my breathing before sighing.

The door opened again and I quickly looked in hopes of seeing William but Elvenia came in instead.

"Elvenia" I breathed her name in relief.

"Hmm, you’re in one piece this time, my lady" she mumbled.

"Should I be relieved you said that?"

She shrugged. "Whatever you want to think. The master has instructed me to let you stay in bed and rest"

"He’s angry is he not?"

"Well, what do you think?" she interjected and my heartbeat pulsated. "You were gone... just like that, you had Severus worried, and Master? Who knew what he would have done this time" she mumbled the last part of her words.

"I-I’m sorry" I whispered.

"It is not me you should say that to"

"I just froze up, I couldn’t speak, the look in his eyes was hurting, it scared me" I fiddled with my fingers.

"Hmm," she made a sound only. "Just give him time" she added along the way as she walked to the wardrobe with some folded clothes.

Time

Maybe I just need to do that, as well as find the courage to open my mouth and say something. Tonight then... I will say something, I didn’t exactly want us to not be on talking terms, not just when we took a new step in our relationship.

I spent the whole day in the chambers, luckily Sophia spent it with me and we played chess today. Sophia was good when it came to chess, she won three times before I took the lead. She may act like a baby sometimes but she’s definitely smart, if only she could pronounce the name of the pawns correctly.

And just like that Night came, and I soothe my body in the bath, my feet were no longer sore too, and as for the ache between my legs, well... it was becoming effortless to walk around. It was a sudden reminder of our passionate time together, I was his and he’s mine, a big step towards our relationship. We weren’t just engaged anymore, we weren’t just master and student, but now were husband and wife.

Just thinking about it got my cheeks flushed.

Nothing could be more exciting than this... But the excitement seemed to tune now after waiting hours for William to come to bed but he was nowhere to be seen.

And just like that the happiness was gone.
