Chapter 44: [Recommendation Letter!]
Chapter 44: [Recommendation Letter!]
"It’s been strangely heavy today."(Noah)
Noah ran around the training area as he talked to Elios.
[Yeah. The requests didn’t seem like common ones at all.](Elios)
"Well, it was better for us anyway."(Noah)
They had earned about 20,000 Karma in a single day in comparison to the daily 5,000. This was because of how complex the tasks were today. Especially the ones that involved [Purification] spells.
[Asking to remove curses isn’t exactly a Common Rank task. Either there were administrative mistakes or those who made the request didn’t have any money. But as you said, it was good for us.](Elios)
Noah ran one last round before starting to do a bunch of push ups to finish the exercises for today. And once done with that, he then moved to the bath to freshen up.
[I wonder how early we can start with the teaching. There were some books in the University Royal Library that I wanted to check out.](Elios)
As usual, Elios was aiming to find out newer spells, Advanced spells. In the past week, he had been able to try and decode all the basic and intermediate spells there were known to man. Except for Dark spells which were difficult to obtain, he probably knew it all and can perform it all without any difficulties.
Too bad, Noah only had dual affinity towards Light and Darkness, else he could have been made the strongest mage in existence with Elios. But still, Elios tried his best to create Light spells that had the function of other spells. Light to create water or fire using the natural systems. It wasn’t impossible, but hard to do it under normal conditions.
And that was Elios’ field of interest these days. To create spells that are seemingly impossible in theory.
Walking out of the bathroom, Noah then began walking towards Miss Ameliana’s room. In his hand was the letter of recommendation that was given to him by the head priest.
"Ummm... Sir Elios."
Though stopping him were two girls, who nervously walked towards him.
[Aren’t they students from the class? I think the one on the left, the red haired, is Maria and the white haired one on the right is Lisa](Elios)
"Acolyte Maria. Acolyte Lisa. How can I help you too?"(Noah)
Hearing their names, both the girls were surprised a bit before blushing a little. Though then they fixed their gazes before speaking,
"We were actually having some trouble with the study."(Maria)
"If it is not troubling you. Can you help us, please?"(Lisa)
"Only if it is not a problem for you."(Maria)
"We won’t take more than 10 minutes."(Lisa)
"Or even 5 minutes."(Maria)
Noah looked at the time and then decided that he can spare some time for the kids here. A few minutes killed won’t be much of a problem.
"Actually the problem was..."(Maria)
Quick on her toes, Maria took out her notebook and began asking the questions she had, to which Elios and Noah helped them with ease. Because Elios had already explained this before, Noah decoded his words even better than last time, explaining each step one by one in terms that the girls can understand.
Both the girls were enthralled as they heard his explanation before they both thanked as they both bowed to him politely.
"You girls should get back to your dorms now. It’s getting late."(Noah)
The girls nodded as they thanked Noah once more before running away from there without wasting even a single moment. While Noah turned around only to find Miss Ameliana standing there, smiling at him.
In her hands were a few books she was carrying, before she turned and began walking towards her room.
"Let me."(Noah)
Noah moved forwards and took the books from here before walking with her into the room. He placed the books on the study table before taking his usual seat.
"The head priest told me that you are going to be my assistant professor now."(Ameliana)
It seemed the head priest told her before he could break the news.
Noah simply nodded at her before taking out the recommendation letter and then passing it to her. And she placed it inside her wardrobe without reading it as she pondered before speaking,
"I guess, it’s good in its own way. When will you be reporting?"(Ameliana)
"I can report tomorrow if it’s not a problem."(Noah)
"Alright. I will prepare the necessary documents then. But since that will take time, here take this."(Ameliana)
She then took out a parchment and passed it on to me. On it were a few names, the usual dark mages that Noah needed to hunt. But there was one name at the top that was highlighted in red.
"I will prepare the paperwork, so we will postpone the teaching till tomorrow morning after classes. Instead use the extra time to hunt them. And yeah, that red marked target is a dark mage that has succeeded in getting some demon traits. I don’t need to tell you anymore, do I?"(Ameliana)
A Dark Mage succeeding in getting demon traits means he had succeeded enough humans to get some power in exchange for the rituals he had done. Depending upon the trait he could be both easy to deal with, or too hard if the match up is bad.
"Well. I have looked into it a bit and his trait seemed to be showing high resistance against magic. Shouldn’t be a problem for you, I suppose?"(Ameliana)
Noah nodded to her.
He still had questions as to why he was left alone if he had been demonized, but he kept that to himself for now. One day he will try to find the answer to that, but for now his aim isn’t that. It’s just to eradicate those fanatic cult bastards.
"All right, Mr Snow Priest. Or should I call you demon hunter Fenrir now that it’s night?"(Ameliana)
Looking at the smiling face of Ameliana, Noah grumbled before standing up and slowly leaving from there.
