Chapter 38: [Simplifying Complex Concepts!]

The class was silent as they all observed professor Elios. Even though they have all heard that he was an easy going professor, somehow the atmosphere around him was far more strict than any others that have taught them.

His composure and the sudden focus on a few mischievous students made them feel slight chills as they all simply waited for his words.

"As you may all know, healing magic functions to reconfigure and/or increase the properties of a target’s body’s healing capacity."(Noah)

Noah then wrote a few words on the board.

-Properties

"Let’s start with Magic functions. These are the functions that are popularly known as mana. Both present in the atmosphere and in one’s body, they are a miniscule mystical form of energy with which we use magic."(Noah)

"Focusing on healing, when healing magic is applied to them, these functions tend to connect the bloodstream to the rest of the body without touching the other parts. This is done so as to ease the flow of magic to those parts."(Noah)

"The next part is the properties. Specifically the properties of the human body. The target properties in this case are the body’s own regeneration, such as inflammation, the proliferation, and maturation. Including but not limited to regeneration and repair with differentiation and dedifferentiation of the tissue system, tissue and the cell itself."(Noah)

Noah paused for a brief moment as he saw the lost faces of the kids present there. The first part was easy to understand so they were paying attention, but as soon as the difficult words started to pour in, half of them began to lose concentration on the subject.

Their teacher, Elios, himself had no idea of it as he continued sending messages to Noah. But Noah paused as he saw that there was no point if the students were not going to understand.

And since he at least understood what Elios was trying to say, he decided to decode what Elios was saying to the kids present there in easier form.

"Think of the properties as the self-healing ability of the body without the aid of magic. It will bleed first, then clot, then heal slowly over time either with or without a scar."(Noah)

Elios was surprised a bit but since what Noah said wasn’t wrong, he didn’t stop him.

There were many times he was told by other professors that his method of explaining was pretty hard and people who don’t have a good grasp of the subject will find it difficult to interpret it. So, Noah simplifying his words was something he appreciated.

[The Reason Blood streams are chosen as the typical pathway for magic functions is because of the oxygenation and carboxylation cycle of the body that occurs in almost all corners of the tissues and cells. It’s an intricate system that allows healing by the help ATPs, an energy form which is different from the magical system, yet helps in the dynamic functions of the entire body]

"Blood reaches all the parts of the body, and in turn aids in healing. That is why healing magical functions attach to them."(Noah)

"The oxygen we breathe is used in the creation of something known as ATP, which is then used by our body to not only heal, but help in many other processes. The magical functions simply aid in that process by amplifying that effect."(Noah)

[Including the healing process, there are non-healing factors like pain sensations which are essential to the normal functioning of the body but are generally skipped when healing magic functions are activated. Bypassing it, allows the magic to work without causing any pain in the process, even soothing it for the most part. We will be discussing this in detail today.](Elios)

"Normal body heals with pain first. But when magic is used, this process is skipped, resulting in no pain whatsoever. We will be discussing this in depth today."(Noah)

"A few complex words may come, but I will explain them first so pay close attention or else you will have trouble understanding the subject."(Noah)

Elios’ depth in medical knowledge was phenomenal. He knew how to connect the human body and the magic, and thus knew the ways healing magic functions in one’s body.

And since Noah, a being from a world where magic does not exist, can interpret even the difficult parts of the theory, decoding them to the students.

A pin drop silence was present in the class as Professor Noah/Elios, taught everyone the details of healing magic before going into depth about non- healing properties.

Somehow the concepts were clear, easy to understand and retain. It was totally different from what they have heard about this professor, a completely different image from what they have painted of the rumours.

The class continued for a total of 60 minutes before Noah noticed the time and paused his lecture.

Noah repeated what Elios said before walking away from the classroom with the sheets in his hands, while the entire class silently observed him leave.

And a few minutes after he left...

"Who was that?!"

"Was it really THAT professor?!!"

"Wasn’t his lecture supposed to be boring and complex?!"

"Damn! I think I understood everything about this!"

"Was this really the hardest subject? Why do I feel like it’s really easy?! Are we studying the same subject as our seniors?!"

"I don’t think I have heard anyone else explain this subject so well!"

"I... am going to the evening class."

"Me too."

"I will tell my roommate about it."

"Hey...give me your notes. I didn’t make any."

"No!"

The class got busier as soon as it ended, and the students began looking at the notes they made and recalled what the professor had taught them with a deep breath.

Unbeknownst to Noah/Elios, from the very first lecture, he started getting attention from the newer acolytes which was soon going to spread to other acolytes as well.

This lecture will spread his name in ways he could have never expected.

But for now, unknown to the waves he created, Noah simply walked towards his room, put all the documents on the bed before moving towards Yuna’s office.

Yuna observed his calm expression, and sighed in relief before asking,

"Fifty? Or should I give you half today?"(Yuna)

"Let’s do 60 today. I think I should be able to finish that and return for the evening class."(Noah)

Since he was able to do 50 in 6 hours, he should be able to do 60 in the next 7 hours if he pushes himself a little. The lecture was at around 5 in the evening giving him an extra hour to work with.

Yuna was surprised but didn’t say anything as she passed the bundle back to him. Watching him curiously observe the bundle, a smile appeared on Yuna’s face.

"Hey. Next time, don’t try to bear it all on your own, okay?"(Yuna)

Hearing Yuna’s voice, Noah turned to her. Paused for a few seconds before smiled back and nodded at her.

"Now go. Shoo. I am already busy as it is."(Yuna)

Noah chuckled as he simply thanked her before moving away from the desk, towards the exit. Putting the bundle in the bracelet he smiled with a slight confidence.

"Let’s finish this fast and have something nice to eat."(Noah)
