Chapter 37: Chapter 37
Jasmin patted the bed, telling her to sit. "Come here, I’m going to tell you about the other contestants."
Madeline sat and listened to the other cast members they would meet tomorrow. She knew all of them, obviously. Most of them were already established celebrities and influencers.
She didn’t know the identity of the eighth cast member who became a replacement because someone couldn’t join in.
"Do you have any idea about the eighth cast member?" Madeline asked.
Jasmin shrugged. "I have no idea. But what I heard from the staff is that he is supposed to be an A-list Hollywood actor."
"That Assistant, Olga, told me the same. It’s an A-lister Hollywood actor, but they keep the information a secret."
"Well, whoever that is, I don’t think we need to care about him. He is one of our enemies anyway. We need to get him booted out as soon as possible," Madeline said.
"Yup, we’re in this together, Madeline. We have to eliminate them all," Jasmin said as she stared at Madeline seriously.
"Yes, we are the intended villains of this reality show, so let’s give them a show they will never forget."

Meanwhile, Lance was on another video call with Valerie, who called him early in the morning, much to his annoyance.
Lance was having his morning coffee when he saw Valerie panicking about something. "What’s wrong with you? Do you know how early it is?"
"I know, but I can’t wait to show you this," Valerie sent the last video recorded from the mirror in Madeline and Jasmin’s bungalow.
Lance clicked on the video and saw Madeline and Jasmin, the contestant who was meant to be the sacrificial lamb of this reality show, staring at the camera.
Madeline was holding a rock in her hand before she flipped him with her middle finger and said,
-
"You bunch of freaks, I hope all of you rot in hell, and that includes you, Valerie, and Lancelot."
-
"Pfft—!" Lance spat his coffee when he heard it. He was even more surprised when Madeline called him out before she smashed the mirror and the hidden camera with the rock.
The video ended like that, and Lance was left speechless.
"You’re screwed. Madeline is really mad, Lance," Valerie said. "Maybe this will be the first time you get dumped."
"Dumped? Ha!" Lance scoffed. "Madeline relies on me. She cannot dump me!"
Valerie sighed. "Who in the right mind would think putting a hidden camera and audio device around the bungalow would be a good idea? I would be furious if my boyfriend also did that to me."
"You act like you ever had a boyfriend," Lance sneered. "Those audio and video taping devices are for Jasmin Fox. Don’t you remember what we planned before?"
"And it backfired," Valerie shrugged.
The whole idea was to put Madeline with the sacrificial lamb of the show. They put those recordings up and waited until Jasmin did something stupid, or at least relapsed into her drug addiction, and then kicked her out. It was a good start for a reality show.
Valerie initially opposed the idea, but Lane used his absolute ’I am the only investor’ card to revoke her protest, so she had to comply.
However, she suspected that Lance simply wanted to ensure that Madeline didn’t sleep with another man while she was in here because Madeline’s room was the only one taped all over.
Valerie knew well what kind of man Lance was. After all, as his closest cousin, Valerie witnessed how crazy and possessive he could be over a woman he really liked.
"So, what are you going to do next? I mean, I can find a way to eliminate Jasmin Fox in the next episode, but I don’t know what to do about Madeline," Valerie said. "Do you want me to rework all of our plans?"
"No," Lance said, shaking his head. "Keep it like that. It’s good that half of them will disadvantage her."
"You are playing with fire, Lance," Valerie sighed. "I know you want to make Madeline a viral sensation, but you’re so cruel. You act more like her boss than her boyfriend. So don’t blame me if you get dumped after the show ends."
"I will not get dumped, and Madeline won’t be able to find another man," Lance said arrogantly to suppress the anxiety in his heart. "So go do what I told you to do. I invested a lot of money in this project, Val."
"I know. That’s why I’m trying to make it work," Valerie said before she hung up the video call.
Lance sipped his coffee to calm down after a stressful morning call. He didn’t expect Madeline to learn about the hidden tape and camera so quickly.
Honestly, Lance also didn’t understand why he wanted to tape Madeline’s room.
But he got so restless when he thought about Zane Eastwood.
Something about him made him feel like a dragon who was guarding his treasure, making sure that bastard wouldn’t dare to think about sleeping with Madeline.
Why would he think like that? He wasn’t sure either. But he ordered Valerie to put all the taping devices in Madeline’s bungalow with a solid reason to find a way to kick Jasmin Fox as soon as possible.
Lance had a headache thinking about his own actions. He wasn’t sure if this would affect his relationship with Madeline, but he was doing it all for her.
"Of course, I want her to go viral and become a huge sensation because it will benefit us both. But that kind of sensation won’t be all sunshine and rainbows," Lance muttered. He got concerned, thinking that Madeline would get the wrong idea. "Should I call her and explain everything?"
...
...
Lance considered it for a while, until his frown gradually disappeared. He sat calmly while sipping his morning coffee. "Why do I have to care about what she thinks? She’s bound by contract. She won’t be able to leave me even after she becomes popular."
Lance paused for a moment before adding, "And I will make sure she stays until I get bored of her."
