Chapter 213: Chapter 213

"Are you sure you want to do this?" Lance asked as he got worried.

"One hundred percent sure," Madeline replied. "Besides, I want to try a catwalk once more. It’s been a while since I was at a fashion show."

"Why don’t you shoot another TV show instead? I can find a director for you," Lance suggested as he was busy at his desk, reading all the documents he had to deal with. He shifted his gaze at Madeline, who sat on the sofa, and his brows creased deeper as he thought Madeline was being ridiculous, "A fashion show is not my field of expertise. I don’t even know this fashion designer you’re talking about, and at least not on a personal level."

"Oh, don’t worry, you can tighten the security around me, and I’ll be fine," Madeline assured him. She got up and approached the CEO’s desk. She leaned forward, supporting her body on the desk while staring at Lance with her beautiful brown eyes. "Plus, I know you’re busy with Empress Entertainment’s recovery. You don’t have to circle me nonstop."

"...How about another reality show? I promise to tell everyone to treat you nicely, and I will make sure you win the show," Lance continued, offering something else for her. "Maddy, this is not my line of expertise. I’m afraid you’ll get sabotaged somehow."

"Babe, just trust me this time. I will make you proud," Madeline grinned. "Very proud."

Lance sighed. "I’ll tighten security around you. I don’t want any harm near you."

"You can do that," Madeline chuckled. "Oh, I have to meet with that fashion designer."

Madeline kissed him on the cheek before rushing out of the office, "See you later, babe!"

"Hmm..." Lance nodded, but he couldn’t shake up this worry in his heart. "Always so willful. I guess all I can do is ensure she’s safe."

Thus, Lance immersed himself again with his work.

Recently, his big brother offered a partnership with him so he could quickly recuperate all the losses Empress Entertainment suffered after that public stunt he did with Madeline.

Thus, he got so busy that he often had to come home late, missing out on dinner with Madeline and Nathan.

He knew he couldn’t let Madeline work with him all the time. Thus, he planned to give her another acting gig to pass the time, only for Madeline to come up with the idea of a fashion show.

"Does she want to be a model again? Damn it, I don’t like how crazy cutthroat that industry is," Lance murmured as he tried to read the documents at the desk.

Meanwhile, Madeline told Ada to go to a cafe near the office because she met with the fashion designer, a long-time friend who contacted her after her public stunt with Lance broke the internet; Leia Cross, the designer of an up-and-coming fashion brand, CL.

"Over here, Madeline!"

Madeline darted toward a seat near the window and saw the lady wearing a blue dress. She looked elegant but had such a cheery expression on her face.

Yet, Madeline knew well what kind of person Leia was.

She was very cunning and would ditch anyone who didn’t benefit her, such as Madeline when she was under everyone’s scrutiny for being Jon’s mistress. Leia was the first one to block her.

But Madeline bore no resentment towards her. She knew the business and knew what Leia did was just part of saving her business.

However, Leia’s cunningness and ruthlessness were important for Madeline because Leia’s fashion show was well known to be outlandish and insane, which was perfect for the setup Madeline was about to do.

Madeline sat facing Leia, and the latter quickly put up a friendly manner, "So, what do you think of my idea? I think this fashion show will steal the spotlight immediately, and it will help us both, right?"

"I’ve read your proposal, and I think so too. It’s very sensational," Madeline nodded. "Speaking of the show, have you thought about the name?"

"I was thinking of something sounding ’sensational’ or ’scandalous’ since you’re the star of the show," Leia said. "But I have yet to come up with any name yet."

"Then, how about ’Madeline Rose and her Naughty Scandals’? It has a ring on it, right?"

"Are you sure you don’t mind me using your name? And a naughty scandal wouldn’t sound good on your portfolio."

Madeline chuckled, "Since when have you become so caring to me, Leia? We both know the business, right? Of course, I won’t leave the show without any benefit."

"Then what benefit would you reap from this? For me, as long as I can get you into my fashion show, then I’ll get the publicity,"

"Well, my benefit is not about money or popularity. But I do have a request for the show," Madeline stared at Leia and boldly said. "When it’s time for me to do the catwalk, I will decide my prop and also my entourage."

"Entourage? You’re bringing another model into your catwalk?"

"Yes, but it’s not a fellow model. Don’t worry, Leia. I promise that your fashion show will be the talk of the internet for a long time," Madeline smirked. "It will be so scandalous. Everyone will be talking about it for months to come."

Honestly, Leia didn’t expect much from this cooperation with Madeline Rose. She knew she would get publicity no matter what because of how controversial Madeline was.

But this also made her curious.

Madeline pulled up so many public stunts in the past that everyone simply thought of her as problematic, but Leia had known Madeline for a long time, and she knew Madeline was just caught in many difficult situations.

"I can give you the pass to do that. But you have to promise me that you won’t try to sabotage my show, Madeline," Leia said.

"Why would I? I also want to help you and use your platform to make a statement. So trust me on this, alright?"

...

"Fine, I’ll grant you control over your catwalk."
