She Becomes A Hot Sensation After A Scandalous Affair -
Chapter 165
Chapter 165: Chapter 165
"Mm, I just love everything about you, including your cooking, Maddy," Lance said with an amicable smile. He drank a glass of wine prepared by the butler and continued, "Why don’t you come to my room after this? I have something to tell you."
Madeline’s lips curled as her stare turned provocative. "Sure."

Lance went straight to the master’s bedroom after dinner, and Nathan did the same as he had homework.
Thus, Madeline sighed as she was relieved that everything went well.
It was their first day to live together, and she didn’t want Lance to think she was here to freeload.
’Telling Nathan to cook for us is a good move. It helps Nathan settle in this new home and also helps him get tutelage from a professional chef,’ Madeline thought. ’And for Lance, it seems that my suspicion is right...’
Madeline guessed that Lance must’ve missed the atmosphere of being at home.
Madeline never saw him having a good time with his family. Unlike Nathan and her, it didn’t seem that Lance was close to anyone, not even George.
She wanted to create a homely atmosphere for Lance so he would come home more often.
Madeline returned to her room. She removed her clothes and took a hot shower before leaving Lance’s room.
She knew what was on Lance’s mind, and frankly, she enjoyed her intimate time with Lance.
Their bodies fit perfectly, like two puzzle pieces meant to be for each other.
She wanted to wear something sexy, maybe lingerie. But when she saw the bruise on her wrist, her smile dissipated.
She intentionally wore a long-sleeved shirt during dinner because she didn’t want Nathan or Lance to see the bruise, but now that she was about to go all in with Lance, she doubted she could hide it anymore.
"Do I have a glove to fit the lingerie?" Madeline murmured while checking her wardrobe.
She found a few long gloves could help, but it would look glaring when she wore lingerie and these long gloves.
She couldn’t afford to let Lance see the bruise because he would start questioning again.
Madeline sighed. "Time to wear pajamas, I guess."
Thus, Madeline opted to use her long-sleeved pajamas and walked to the master bedroom right next to her room.
She knocked on the door a few times, and it was opened from the inside.
She could hardly contain her excitement, but when she saw Lance’s grim expression, she realized something was wrong.
"Come in, Maddy," Lance said as he gave way. "I want to ask you something."
Madeline entered the bedroom, and Lance closed the door before locking it.
"S—So, what do you want to talk about?" Madeline asked nervously.
Lance pointed at his bed and said, "Sit there."
Madeline obediently sat at the edge of the bed, waiting for Lance to do something to her.
But to her surprise, he suddenly kneeled in front of her and grabbed her hand.
"W—Wait, Lance—!"
Lance pulled her sleeve, exposing the purple bruise that hasn’t fully healed yet.
Lance’s gaze darkened as he gently rubbed the purple bruise, and Madeline winced in pain. Seeing her in pain hurt him, and he became mad upon seeing the bruise because this beautiful hand shouldn’t get hurt.
This bruise was the proof of his failure to protect her, and it made him feel like shit as a man.
"He did this, didn’t he?" Lance asked while gently rubbing the bruise.
"Who did?" Madeline played stupid. "It was an accident."
She already felt guilty for using Zane to solve her problem twice in a row, the first during Summer Heat Lovers and the second when Ethan and Bertha uploaded a YouTube video to slander her.
So she didn’t want Zane to face Lance’s wrath, knowing that Lance had all the power to completely shut him down.
Lance lifted his head, staring at Madeline’s eyes as he searched for the truth. "Then tell me, what kind of accident gave you this bruise? Because you’d be lying if you said you fell and bruised your wrist. This purple bruise looks exactly like someone’s handprint."
Madeline gulped nervously.
"I—It was an accident during the scene. The actor was supposed to yank my hand, but he did it too hard. But it’s not a big problem, just a little bruise."
"Then I’ll call Director Wang. I’ll get him fired immediately."
"No!" Madeline shook her head. She got pale as she realized that she had almost ruined an innocent man’s life. She tried her best to protect Zane’s career, but seeing how angry Lance was, she got worried that things might escalate to the point where there was no turning back.
"It’s that bastard Zane, right? He did this to you," Lance stated. "And you didn’t tell me about it."
Madeline sighed.
She nodded weakly but still found a way to defend Zane.
"It’s just an accident."
Lance’s gaze stilled. He stood up and looked down at Madeline instead, ensuring she knew that he was still in control over everything.
"Look at me and tell me the truth, Madeline Rose."
Madeline looked up to stare at Lance’s viper-like gaze and quickly lowered her head once more.
She fiddled with her fingers, unable to mutter the truth because she didn’t want Zane’s life ruined.
"Madeline!"
"It was truly an accident..." Madeline muttered, guiltily. "He came to my house when I had already left for work, and my brother said he was searching for me."
"Then those movers came, and he got the information that I had moved out to your mansion. So he came to the production set to confront me about moving out without his knowledge." Madeline rubbed the bruise on her wrist, instinctively trying to hide it from Lance’s line of sight. "He told me that I should’ve chosen him after everything he did to help me."
Madeline looked up again. This time, she tried to curb her fear and said, "He said that I tossed him away after he had no use anymore."
