Chapter 150: Chapter 150

"So you better not waste my time, or I will tell my dad about it, understand?" Renata said sharply and coldly.

Harry gulped.

He soon realized that Renata had much more power than him in their hidden relationship.

Renata could completely ruin his family by telling Jillian and their son everything about their affair or ruin his career by telling her father to pull out his investment, which would destroy the stability of the company that he built from the ground up.

"Do you understand, Harry Hurst?" Renata repeated, her eyes full of unrestrained obsession with this handsome man before her.

Harry finally nodded reluctantly, and a smile flourished on Renata’s lips. "Good, I know I can count on you, darling," Renata said before she kissed him on the cheek.

"Cut!"

"Okay! Another perfect take!" Director Wang said gleefully. "You are a fantastic actress, Madeline Rose."

"Thank you, Director," Madeline smiled.

"We planned two scenes for you today because I thought it would take a long time. But you still got it," Director Wang praised even more. "You can leave now. Don’t forget to come tomorrow morning. I will tell them to add three scenes at once, and you should be able to finish all of your scenes within five days."

"Thank you, Director. Then I’ll take my leave."

Madeline changed her outfit, washed her makeup, and left the production set immediately.

She didn’t bother to socialize with anyone here, knowing that almost all of them were mocking her for ’dating’ Zane Eastwood.

As she walked out of the production set, Ada quickly helped her carry her bag.

"How’s today, miss?" Ada asked her while they approached the Rolls Royce near the entrance. "Did everything go well?"

"Mhm, I finished all of my scenes in one take. It’s an easy role for me." Madeline smiled. "Though I’m not sure whether the audience will like it. After all, they like to hate me as Madeline Rose."

Madeline opened the car door, and her heart jumped when she saw Lance sitting in the backseat of her car.

Lance smiled at her and said, "I’m sure people will love you. You are a great actress, Maddy."

"L—Lance? Why are you here?" Maddy asked as she sat on the backseat next to him and closed the door.

"I want to pick you up. Is that not obvious enough?" Lance kissed Madeline on the cheek after a long day at work. "I heard from Director Wang that you are doing a great job."

Madeline’s cheeks reddened. She glanced at Ada, who sat in the driver’s seat. "Not now, dummy. There’s Ada here."

"And what’s wrong with a kiss? You are my girlfriend, right?" Lance joked while chuckling. But for some reason, Madeline saw the seriousness in Lance’s eyes, as if he were claiming her before she was fully claimed by Zane.

Lance told Ada to go, and they drove out of the production set.

"By the way, I have two surprises for you," Lance said.

"Two? That’s a lot," Madeline commented. "Can you tell me one of those?"

"I will tell you once we arrive there," Lance said. He glanced at Ada, and the latter also did the same. So Ada took a sudden turn and drove through an unfamiliar road.

Madeline got even more curious, especially when they entered a gated community near the coast, with houses that were more expensive than her entire net worth.

She looked around, and each house had its own spacious lawn and garden behind the tall barbed gate.

Obviously, this place was way out of her wealth bracket, and she didn’t know why Lance brought her here.

Ada drove into a house with an automated gate, and Madeline looked around the spacious mansion facing the golden coast. She also saw a huge pool directly facing the coast, which only added to the romanticism of this mansion.

Ada parked the car at the entrance, opening the car door automatically.

"We’re here. Let’s go. I want to show you something cool," Lance said as he dragged Madeline out of the car.

Madeline reluctantly followed Lance inside the mansion, not knowing what to expect.

Lance unlocked the door with his fingerprint and held Madeline’s hand as they entered the mansion.

Madeline looked around, and the only thing she could mutter was, "Wow..."

The mansion was fully furnished with many luxurious things she could never afford.

But what really sold her was the wide floor-to-ceiling glass pane facing directly to the coast.

Madeline walked towards the glass pane and stared at the riptide that hit the rocks under the cliff.

As she stared at the sea, she saw Lance’s reflection behind her.

He slowly wrapped his arms around her waist and embraced her tight as they stared at the sea together.

"What do you think? Do you like this mansion?"

"I mean, obviously," Madeline replied. "You’re lucky to have an amazing place like this, Lance."

"This mansion isn’t mine," Lance replied.

"Huh?" Madeline looked up. "Really?"

"It’s yours," Lance said with a big smile, waiting to be praised by Madeline.

"Don’t joke like that, Lance," Madeline sighed. "It would take me my entire life to afford a place like this."

"I’m not joking. This mansion is yours," Lance said. "I will give it to you, so it will be under your name, including all the workers who maintained this place."

...

The way Lance said it so convincingly scared Madeline. "T—This isn’t funny, Lance. Do you not know how expensive this mansion is?"

"I’m serious, Maddy," Lance said. "I bought this mansion two years ago because I thought having my own house would make me feel happy."

"But I was wrong," Lance sighed. He nestled his head on Madeline’s shoulder and muttered, "I can’t feel happy when I’m the only person in this place."

"That’s why I want to give this to you, so you will use it better than I do," Lance said. He then put his lips near Madeline’s ear and whispered, "And if Miss Rose is kind enough to this poor one, would it be okay if I stayed with you in your mansion?"
