"Mwah..." Lance muttered with a face as red as a ripe tomato. He was shocked when Madeline suddenly gave him kisses on the phone before hanging up, and now his heart felt itchy. He wanted to do the same for Madeline, too.

Nevertheless, he felt better knowing those hate mongers didn’t affect her in the slightest.

"Well, now I can focus on my work," Lance said as he put his phone in his pocket.

The door was knocked on, and his secretary, Deborah, walked in. "Sir, everyone is waiting for you in the meeting room."

"Mm, I’ll be there soon," Lance said.

He made sure that he maintained his momentum as he walked into the meeting room. These boards of directors and shareholders were a bunch of ass-kissers who would kiss up to Theodore, knowing that Theo had so much power as the CEO of Silver Line Inc.

He had no hard feelings for them because if he were in their position, he’d probably do the same since Theodore had a better track record.

But he had to slowly replace them one by one so he could protect Madeline properly and get his own resources against his big brother.

He shot a hostile look at Theodore, who sat right across the long table, grinning as he was ready to humiliate Lance if he refused the TV show proposal, with Zane and Madeline as the main leads.

Lance cleared his throat and sat in his seat. He watched how the appointed TV show director began explaining the plot of the TV show by developing the script idea that Lance had proposed before.

In the end, the director said, "Thriller is not suitable for golden age Hollywood beauties like Madeline Rose and Zane Eastwood. I propose to change Zane’s identity to that of a fellow cop instead. Therefore, the ending of the first season will be quite optimistic."

"So, what do you think, Mr. Grant?"

Everyone looked at Lance, and the CEO stared at the projector and said, "What a load of bullshit."

"B—Bullshit?" The TV director was caught off guard. "But this is perfect for their characters."

"You changed the entire plot because you want to appease my brother. I will replace you with another one," Lance said coldly. "You can leave now."

Everyone then looked at Theodore, who shrugged it off and said, "Well, he’s the CEO. But I want to know why he thinks the director only wants to appease me."

"Because you’re not searching for the next big thing. You just want to see this TV show fail under my name as the CEO," Lance accused without fear, and Theodore didn’t say a thing.

He simply stared at Lance as if he were just a little boy needing guidance.

’Well, he’s spot on. I’ll give him credit for understanding his bad situation,’ Theodore thought. Indeed, he wanted this show to fail so Lance would be disgraced, and thus, he would be forced to sell all of his shares to Theodore and resign from his position as CEO, with the help of everyone in this company, of course.

Lance fully understood what kind of idea Theodore had.

He wanted to ruin the TV show to disgrace Lance.

Honestly, Lance didn’t really care if he got disgraced.

But he absolutely refused to let Madeline star in a bad TV show.

She might create a fuss before the show airs to ruin the initial rating, so purchasing the stocks from those shareholders wouldn’t be difficult.

But those objective movie and TV show critics would eventually review the show starring Madeline and Zane and realize it was a masterpiece, so Madeline’s filmography would be saved, and Lance could get some profit after the loss he experienced after fully acquiring Empress Entertainment.

"Then, why don’t you tell us what kind of idea you have, Mr. CEO?" Theodore sneered. "If the idea is good, I will approve it."

Lance felt that he was facing a bunch of gangsters, ready to kill him if he made a small mistake.

But he was confident because he knew he had to win this, or else he would never truly be free with Maddy.

Lance took a deep breath and said, "Keep Madeline Rose as the female detective. She is perfect for that role, but don’t let Zane be a cop or partner with her.

"Then how are you going to incorporate him into the story?" Theodore asked. "He is undoubtedly the main attraction of this TV show."

Lance paused for a moment and smiled. "Let him be the psycho killer."

Everyone in the room was shocked by his statement.

"Mr. Grant, are you sure about making Zane Eastwood the bad guy? You’re going to lose us millions because of this."

"And what’s wrong with that? I’m sure Zane is a very talented actor. It would be a challenge for him," Lance said. "Let the psycho killer fall in love with the detective and date her while secretly going on a murder spree. Let them play a game of cat and mouse and see how much the psycho killer is obsessed and in love with her."

"He will secretly show his love and obsession through all of his murderous deeds. That way, it will keep the tension in the story while also incorporating the romance."

"Madeline Rose and Zane Eastwood are two talented actors. They can make it work as long as they have the same chemistry as the Summer Heat Lovers," Lance said. "And the title of the TV show will be Psycho Moth. Like a moth attracted to a candle, knowing he will get burned."

Everyone in the meeting room went silent after that.

They were ready to suppress Lance and ridicule him for his idea.

But this idea was too good to pass up; if Madeline and Zane had the chemistry, it could be a fantastic dark romance TV show.

Thus, everyone looked at Mr. Theodore Grant, waiting for his next move, because they really wanted to follow him rather than the incompetent Lancelot Grant.

Theodore hummed for a moment and nodded. "I approve."
