She Becomes A Hot Sensation After A Scandalous Affair -
Chapter 133
Chapter 133: Chapter 133
Zane kept pressuring her. The deal was tempting, but Madeline was still hesitating.
She felt she would jump into a chaotic mess involving her, Zane, and Lance.
And she wasn’t ready to deal with them. All she wanted was to rebuild her career. Yet these two men...
"G—Give me some time, Zane. How about I call you again tomorrow morning?" Madeline negotiated. "I will give you an answer by tomorrow morning at seven."
"That’s too late," Zane sighed. "Don’t you see? The longer you wait, the less effective it will be. Because people will think that you’re trying to prepare yourself for a counterattack."
"It’s better to do it right now and strike while the iron is still hot. So Ethan and Bertha will shut up immediately."
"But this is too fast. What if Lance disagrees with our on-screen relationship?"
"He’s the CEO of Empress Entertainment. He knows what happens in the showbiz. You’re acting like he’s a saint," Zane scoffed. "Anyway, I am more than willing to help you. But this is an urgent matter. Give me an answer now, or it will be too late."
Madeline bit her lower lip. She could feel the cold sweat dampening her back as Zane gave her an ultimatum.
"So? What’s your answer?"
Madeline took a deep breath and prepared herself, "Zane, I—"

**
Lance gritted his teeth. He was irritated by how Madeline ignored his phone calls and texts, no matter how many he sent.
"Maddy, what is wrong with you?! Pick up the damn call!" Lance yelled while he stared at the red light, counting until the red light turned green.
And the moment it turned green, he pressed the gas pedal with no fear. He needed to find Madeline immediately and stop her from doing anything stupid under pressure.
He finally parked his car in front of the production studio and rushed into the set.
Lance looked around bewilderedly, trying to find Madeline, but couldn’t find her anywhere.
So he strode towards Director Wang, who had been eyeing him for a while. "Where is Madeline?" Lance asked.
Director Wang stared at Lance for a brief moment. He didn’t seem pleased by his presence, probably because of the trending gossip about Madeline Rose on social media.
"She was in the lounge before. But she went out, and nobody has seen her yet," Director Wang replied. "Maybe you can ask the security guard."
Lance clicked his tongue. He turned around and rushed out to find the security guard.
He had to find Madeline as soon as possible before it was too late because he knew that scum Zane Eastwood wouldn’t help Madeline for free.
Julia stared at Lance, whose eyes were bloodshot. She had never seen him this worried before. He was always calm and collected, so this woman—Madeline Rose—must’ve truly meant something to him.
At first, she agreed to help Zane keep Madeline in her trailer so Lance couldn’t find her.
But seeing how Lance was so worried, she didn’t have the heart to keep him in the dark.
Thus, she tapped his back.
Lance turned around and asked her, "Julia, do you know where she is?"
"Yes, she’s in my trailer," Julia replied. "Follow me."
*
Lance followed Julia. His mind was in a state of chaos as he wondered what kind of expression Madeline was making right now.
Maybe she was crying because of those scathing comments.
Lance clenched his fists.
He saw Madeline cry in front of him once when they fought, and he didn’t want to see her tears for the second time.
Once they arrived at Julia’s trailer, she simply turned around and walked away, permitting Lance to enter. "You can take your time with her inside. I think she needs to be comforted right now."
"Thanks, Julia," Lance said before he opened the trailer door.
Madeline lifted her head as the door opened, and her teary eyes met Lance’s worried gaze.
"Maddy..." Lance murmured. His heart sank seeing the tears that he dreaded so much.
And once again, he failed to protect her.
Madeline’s tears broke like a damn once she faced Lance. The amount of guilt in her heart made her unable to breathe, so she could only cry in silence.
"No, no, don’t cry, baby," Lance said, quickly hugging Madeline. "I will sue them for defamation. Don’t worry, okay? I can handle this."
"No...you can’t, Lance," Madeline murmured.
"Then give me time. I will find another way to make sure those two snakes will never make trouble with you again, okay?" Lance said in a gentle voice. This was the first time he had ever comforted someone, and yet, when it came to Madeline, everything simply flowed naturally, including how they embraced each other.
Lance gently grabbed her shoulders, separated himself until an arm’s length, and said, "Baby, please don’t cry. Just leave it to me. I will figure out something."
Madeline wiped her tears. She stared at Lance languidly and sighed as she showed her phone screen to Lance.
"What is it?" Lance asked as he saw a video with that scum, Zane Eastwood in the thumbnail. His gaze darkened as he got a bad omen about it.
"Zane already helped me. He cleared everything by posting this on all of his social media platforms," Madeline said weakly.
Lance’s heart turned frigid instantly. All the softness in his heart disappeared the moment Madeline mentioned Zane Eastwood.
"And what does he want in exchange?" Lance asked firmly, knowing that the bastard wouldn’t help Madeline for free. "Money? Movie deals? Brand deals? Tell me, I will give it to him as long as he stops pestering you."
Madeline paused for a while. She didn’t dare tell Lance about the agreement she made with Zane.
"You should watch the video first," Madeline replied as she pressed the play button and handed the phone to Lance’s palm.
She lowered her head, not wanting to face Lance after what she had done.
Lance’s lips thinned as he watched the ominous video with Zane in the thumbnail.
