Madeline grinned. She had been getting so many ads about the Summer Heat Lovers’ promotion and had also been highlighted on social media.

The reality show’s official Instagram account already amassed ten million followers in two weeks, so tons of fans waited for their favorite to appear.

Madeline opened a bag of chips and leaned on the sofa while watching the reality show.

The first episode started with the full body shots of each contestant, followed by the scene of everyone in the pool except for the three contestants.

The scene then transitioned to the back shot of Madeline and Jasmin strutting together to the pool, followed by the back shot of Zane from another path.

The rest of the scenes were very predictable, as Madeline had expected from her perspective. But what caught her by surprise was how much the first episode focused on Madeline and Zane, featuring them as the main characters of Summer Heat Lovers.

On top of that, their kiss scene after Zane won the first pool volleyball game became the main attraction of this first episode.

Some of Zane’s fans send death threats to her direct message, and some even went as far as tagging Madeline on the Instagram reels they make.

Madeline’s lips thinned as she watched one reel after another. Everyone was angry at her for kissing Zane.

She had guessed this would happen anyway, but she didn’t expect the backlash to be this big. It made her wonder if Valerie had considered this backlash as part of her prediction.

"What’s up, Madeline?" Valerie greeted as she picked up the phone. "Have you watched the first episode? What do you think?"

"Yes, and it’s terrible," Madeline said truthfully.

"Really? I already watched it, and I think the first episode is a bomb!" Valerie said energetically. "You and Zane are really the darlings of the camera. You two look naturally gorgeous in every shot!"

"Valerie, have you seen the reactions from the people on social media?" Madeline asked, as she didn’t want to beat around the bush about this problem. "They are all cursing me for kissing Zane. They even threatened to boycott the show because of me."

"Yes, and?" Valerie still sounded relaxed, even after what Madeline said. "What’s wrong with that?"

"Don’t you understand? I thought my part would be severely cut because of my unpopularity, but you actually made me and Zane the main focus! What if the rating of this reality show doesn’t even reach three out of ten?!"

"Are you worried that you’ll get hate comments?"

"No, it’s not that. I just—"Madeline paused for a moment. She bit her lower lip as she tried not to sound upset. "I just...don’t want to disappoint you and Lance to some extent. If the rating is too low, nobody will watch it, and you’ll lose a lot of money in the process."

"We expected it," Valerie said lightly. "We know we’ll get reviews bombed, and hate trains will only worsen as more episodes emerge. But that doesn’t matter as long as they are still watching."
