Chapter 229: Chapter 229: Don’t Recognize Her
Yesterday, encountering Fu Hongru was already a huge challenge for Su Wanxin. Today, she ended up meeting everyone.
Not far away, Li Mo sat in a wheelchair, pushed by Fu Hongru, slowly heading towards the hotel entrance.
Standing beside them were Fu Shiyi and Sheng Qian, with two unfamiliar strangers next to them.
If Su Wanxin wasn’t mistaken, those were Sheng Qian’s parents.
When Su Wanxin saw them, her mind buzzed, going blank.
She clenched her fists, her gaze falling on Li Mo’s legs. Her lips parted slightly, her whole body trembling slightly due to extreme sadness and discomfort.
Li Mo looked almost the same as she remembered, still so dignified and beautiful. Except... her legs could no longer walk.
It seemed that these people were also here to dine, probably to discuss the marriage between Fu Shihan and Sheng Qian.
Soon, Li Mo noticed the person here.
Her gaze sharply turned towards Su Wanxin, with nothing but cold estrangement and hatred in her eyes; Su Wanxin could feel nothing else.
Su Wanxin froze in place, feeling that she should go over and say a few words, but her legs seemed like they were filled with lead, unable to lift.
She just stood there stiffly, locking eyes with Li Mo across the distance; tears fell uncontrollably like broken beads.
During a clear day, a twenty-something girl standing crying on the street was obviously not a normal scene.
So when Sheng Qian’s parents also noticed Su Wanxin, and confirmed that her gaze was on their side, they looked confusedly at Li Mo and Fu Hongru.
"Do you know her?"
"I don’t know." Li Mo lowered her eyelids and answered indifferently, "Let’s go, we’re going inside."
She no longer bestowed any more glances on Su Wanxin, treating her as if they truly met for the first time, without any connection.
As Su Wanxin watched her gradually distant figure, she was inconsolable. Sheng Qian and Fu Shiyi hesitated at her state but ultimately did not come over, following their elders to leave.
"So, this is the family you are willing to give your life for?"
Mu Xinghan scoffed upon witnessing everything.
It was the first time he saw Su Wanxin cry so heartbreakingly, and it irritated him greatly.
"Don’t know? Heh, what an easy thing to say."
Su Wanxin sniffled and calmed her emotions. Looking at Mu Xinghan’s mocking face, she didn’t know how to explain.
"If you keep crying like this, I might start questioning whether saving your life back then was even worth it."
Mu Xinghan stepped closer to her and warned in a low voice.
"Stop crying, or I’ll frighten you with ghosts."
"Can you stop, not always scaring me with this?" Su Wanxin said tearfully, looking at him.
She didn’t realize how aggrieved her expression was, nor did she know how distressed Mu Xinghan felt seeing her like that.
He pushed her face gently, making her step back. Then he walked towards the hotel entrance, calling her clearly, "Let’s eat. Man is iron, food is steel; miss one meal and you’ll feel weak."
"I am not hungry."
"If you aren’t hungry, just watch me eat," Mu Xinghan turned back to her. "Oh right, I forgot to tell you, I didn’t bring my wallet, this meal is on you."
Mu Xinghan certainly didn’t plan to skip his meal because of those few people from the Fu Family.
He had to eat, and he intended to drag Su Wanxin along to eat.
Su Wanxin followed him intending to enter, but an annoying voice unexpectedly rang out from behind —
"Su Wanxin, don’t you think you’re pathetic?"
Su Wanxin paused, turned around, and laughed.
Today was indeed quite lively.
