Chapter 189: Chapter 189: She No Longer Wants Him.
Zhan Che said these words at the time, Fu Shihan didn’t have much of a reaction. He thought that Fu Shihan didn’t take it seriously, but it turned out he remembered everything.
"There’s no particular meaning, I just said it casually. President Fu, take it as you heard it and don’t take it too much to heart."
Zhan Che bowed his head, indicating that he had no intent to reveal more. Seeing this, Fu Shihan gave a cold laugh.
Not take it seriously? How could he possibly not take it seriously now?
Today’s incident was clearly a setup by Su Wanxin. But then again, he should have anticipated that this had something to do with her. After all, how many people dare to make a move against him?
What exactly Su Wanxin came back for, Fu Shihan does not know for now. But one thing he is very clear about is that she did not come back to reconcile with him.
She doesn’t want him anymore.
Fu Shihan stood up and walked outside. Zhan Che saw his solemn expression and followed him, unable to help himself from saying one more thing.
"Perhaps in that car accident years ago, Su Wanxin was the one who suffered the most."
Listening to his words, Fu Shihan quickly walked out of the hospital. The car sped through the night and soon disappeared.
When Fu Shihan got home, it was almost ten o’clock.
The food on the dining table was still there, already cooled down. Su Wanxin was still in her room, not having stepped out even once.
Listening to Jing Jingwen’s report, Fu Shihan walked upstairs. When he reached the bedroom door, he found it locked. After knocking twice without a response from inside, he took out the key and entered directly.
The room was quiet and dim. No lights were on; only the moonlight’s cold light shone through the window.
On the bed, Su Wanxin was lying down in her clothes, curled up as if she were cold.
She was sound asleep, not hearing Fu Shihan knock on the door or walk up to her.
Fu Shihan stood by the bed, silently watching her sleeping face. She seemed to be dreaming, her eyebrows deeply furrowed. Her complexion was pale, whether it was because of the moonlight or because the dream had scared her.
Su Wanxin’s breathing became more and more rapid, her hands gripping tightly onto the bedsheet, a thin layer of sweat on her forehead. Fu Shihan was about to lean over and wake her when he heard her desperately call out a name.
"Xing Han!"
The crying tone in Su Wanxin’s voice was especially clear and piercingly sharp in the quiet room.
Fu Shihan’s movement froze, his gaze turning bloodshot as he looked at her. He knew she was having a nightmare, but the person she was calling for help wasn’t him.
Who was Xing Han? Was it the man he saw today outside Su’s Securities?
What was their relationship? How long had Su Wanxin known him? What did she dream about, and why did she call out his name?
A succession of questions flooded in, leaving Fu Shihan no time to think carefully and patiently. His hands involuntarily pressed down on Su Wanxin’s shoulders, waking her from her deep sleep.
The person troubled by nightmares finally opened her eyes, with tears slowly sliding down the corners of her eyes. She stared blankly at the person in front of her, at first unable to differentiate between the dream and reality.
"Get up and eat."
Fu Shihan let go of her and stood up, looking down at her from above.
"Although I don’t know what you dreamed about, clearly, the man named Xing Han is not here now to take care of your basic needs."
Su Wanxin gasped heavily, gradually regaining clarity in her mind after hearing his words.
She smiled silently and wiped away the tears at the corner of her eyes, slowly alleviating the fear in her heart.
Those nightmares again, thankfully they’re not real.
