Chapter 159: Chapter 159 That Servant’s Name
For Lin Yifan being able to get into a university, Fu Shihan thought it was complete dumb luck. To say he had the ability, Fu Shihan felt was a huge joke.
He turned and entered the bathroom, Fu Shihan had no interest in discussing idiocy anymore. After freshening up, he came back and assertively pulled Su Wanxin into his arms and turned off the bedside lamp.
"Have you thought about the matter GE mentioned to you before?"
"I haven’t thought about it yet." If he hadn’t brought it up, Su Wanxin would have almost forgotten about it.
"They are going to send someone over soon, and they will probably meet you. If you don’t want to agree, think of a reason to refuse in advance." Fu Shihan reminded her gently as he held her, "We might need their help in the future, don’t make things too awkward."
"Yes, I understand."
The room quieted down, and Fu Shihan quickly fell into a deep sleep.
Su Wanxin could feel that he had been truly exhausted lately, so she dared not move until she herself gradually fell asleep.
The next day, Su Wanxin continued to rest at home, with less than two days left until the final deadline she had given Shen Xiaochen. She thought Shen Xiaochen would wait until the last minute to respond, but unexpectedly, she received a call from Shen Xiaochen just after noon.
"Do you have time today? We should meet, I’ll tell you what you want to know."
Hearing her opener, Su Wanxin laughed. "Not this again?"
"...I didn’t lie to you!"
"Okay, I don’t want to hear this." Su Wanxin asked impatiently, "What’s the name? Just say it."
Shen Xiaochen hesitated for a moment, still wanting to meet her. Hearing this, Su Wanxin’s good temper completely disappeared.
"I’m not discussing this with you or begging you to tell me the answer. If you have any sense, you’d know not to provoke me right now."
"...One day, you’ll beg to meet with me." After a moment of silence, Shen Xiaochen said a name and then hung up.
Su Wanxin wrote down the two characters in a notebook by her hand, and then sent someone to investigate. A few hours later, she got the answer that this person had passed away from illness three years after leaving the Fu Family.
Was it really such a coincidence? Su Wanxin didn’t think it was coincidental.
Looking at the email content on her computer, she was infuriated.
The trail ended here, and there were no other leads to follow. The only option now was to focus on Shen Xiaochen.
Su Wanxin thought about what she had just said, knowing Shen Xiaochen still had some cards up her sleeve. Su Wanxin firmly believed that the idea back then was suggested to Shen Xiaochen by someone else, she just didn’t know who.
...
After being refused a meeting by Su Wanxin, Shen Xiaochen was extremely annoyed.
The Shen Family had been facing one misfortune after another recently, and public opinion had completely swung in Su Wanxin’s favor.
Shen Xiaochen originally planned to ask her out to meet, have someone take a few photos, and publish a report saying she and Su Wanxin were friends and on good terms, hoping this would salvage the situation. Unexpectedly, Su Wanxin flat out refused to meet.
Other than cursing this ungrateful wretch behind her back, Shen Xiaochen couldn’t think of any other approach.
She browsed through the stored photos on her computer, trying to find a photo of herself and Su Wanxin together, or one that looked like they had interactions. But after searching all the files on her computer, she only found one photo of them together.
And in that photo, Fu Shihan was also present.
