Chapter 158: Chapter 158: Better to Trust a Dog than Him
Su Wanxin made a mental note to never again boost that shop’s sales.
"Xiao Yu." Su Wanxin turned to Mu Suyu, who was playing with her phone, and recalling the day of her accident, asked, "What were you doing the day I had my accident?"
"Me?" Mu Suyu thought seriously, "I went to work, why?"
"I tried to call you that day to invite you out, but I couldn’t get through."
"There must have been some dirty stuff interfering with the magnetic field signals!"
"Mhm, got it." Having her doubts cleared, Su Wanxin stopped asking and went back to burying herself in her work.
Fu Shihan left early in the morning and hadn’t returned, probably because he had spent so many days with her in the hospital and had accumulated too much work at the company to deal with.
Su Wanxin originally wanted to put in some extra hours working in the study, but come 10:30 pm, the butler dragged her by the collar back to her bedroom without showing any mercy.
It was even harder to fall asleep without Fu Shihan by her side. After tossing and turning in bed for a while and finding sleep elusive, Su Wanxin slowly got up and, like a thief, tiptoed towards Mu Suyu’s room.
Just as she reached the door, she heard noises downstairs signaling Fu Shihan’s return, which made her reflexively turn and, with fast movements, race back to her bedroom. She climbed into bed, pulled the covers over her, and pretended she had never left the room.
When Fu Shihan entered the room, she was lying there with her eyes closed, pretending to be asleep.
"Sleeping?"
Fu Shihan leaned against the wall with a smile that wasn’t quite a smile, watching her. Seeing that she had no response, he walked over and pinched her cheek.
"You forgot to take off your glasses, stop pretending."
Su Wanxin: ...
She had forgotten to remove the protective eyewear she wore while using her phone. Her body was already in bad shape, and now her mind was starting to lag too.
Su Wanxin slowly opened her eyes, sat up awkwardly, and said to Fu Shihan, "I thought you weren’t coming back today."
"Not coming back to go where?" Fu Shihan took off his coat and threw it aside, "Yifan just called me, claiming he’s the president of your fan club, and wanted me to join and contribute ten million as startup funds. What do you think about that?"
"Just ignore him."
"I also think it’s better to trust a dog than him; your fan club won’t last long."
"Why bother signing him as an artist for the company if you despise him so much?"
"His IQ may not make the cut, but his face is still okay to use," Fu Shihan said candidly. "It wouldn’t be right to let him keep calling me Brother Han for so many years without helping him out. If I don’t help him, he’ll have no choice but to become a male prostitute."
"... That’s called a gigolo, you know, or at the very least a duck. What do you mean by a rooster?"
"The first two terms are professional, he’s not a professional, he doesn’t qualify."
"It’s not as bad as you say it is," Su Wanxin couldn’t help but defend Yifan against his sharp tongue. "He also got into college on his own merit."
"Huh, merit?" Fu Shihan scoffed.
Yifan once asked Fu Shihan for study tips. Fu Shihan thought that explaining them was a waste of breath and taught him the method he used most often—
For three long and one short, choose the shortest; for three short and one long, choose the longest; for uneven lengths, choose B; for a messy pattern, pick D; if they’re uniformly long, go for A; if uniformly short, go for C. Mainly copy, and if all else fails, guess.
As a result, that idiot thought he was invincible. Then he messed up his exam answer sheet and had to retake the college entrance exam after a year of re-studying, barely scraping past the admission scoreline to get into college.
