Chapter 89: 87 | Home

Standing with a frown on his face at the center of the film set was Blue Kent. His frown was so deep that it caused the people around him to keep their distance out of fear.

"What’s wrong with your face?" Blue heard someone ask him.

Most people didn’t believe it was possible, but Blue’s frown managed to deepen.

Blue ignored the person who asked that question. But they ended up jumping in front of him. It was a guy that was twice his size. His hair was dyed to a light shade of blond and he was putting on green contact lenses.

He was wearing a very elegant outfit. Blue felt nauseous just from looking at him.

"Why are you frowning at me? I’m not the one delaying you. They are." The guy glanced a few meters ahead of them.

At that distance, there were two people playing out a scene under a set of bright lightning with a camera crew around them. The two people were NGing so hard that they had retaken their scenes almost fifty times.

"Shut up." Blue said icily, then turned around from the guy.

However, the guy jumped in front of him again, scaring Blue this time and causing him to slap the guy’s hand, saying, "What the fuck is wrong with you, Adonis?"

Adonis broke into a bright smile, then said, "It’s good that you’re talking to me. You always ignore me and it’s not fair."

Blue almost exploded with annoyance after hearing that. Blue never thought that there would be someone who was more annoying than Winter until he met Adonis.

The A-List celebrity was always up in his business ever since they began the shooting of the movie. Blue had been very satisfied with Adonis the first time he met him, seeing that he had a personality that was close to Winter’s and was ready to act.

Blue’s second book, which became an overnight sensation, had been contracted to be adapted into a movie. Blue had been seriously skeptical about letting it happen, but after much convincing and promising that his say would account for sixty percent of the production, Blue agreed.

He’d even been among the judges during the cast audition where he personally chose Adonis to play the role of the main character, Summer.

But now, after a month into shooting, Blue was seriously regretting his decision.

"I’ve told you not to say nonsense to me." Blue rebuked Adonis.

Ever since the celebrity got the role and began to act, his free time was always spent infuriating Blue. The reason? No one had any idea. Blue couldn’t tell if it was because Adonis might have liked him and could only express his feelings by annoying him.

Or if he thought that Blue was undeserving of his post as screenwriter/assistant director since he had gotten it through superficial means.

"What do you mean nonsense? I always say things that make sense." Adonis said in his defense, puffing out his chest and raising his shoulders up.

Just as Blue was about to exchange harsh words with Adonis, he felt something vibrate against his pocket. Blue was quick to pull out his phone. The frown on his face instantly disappeared from his expression as though it was never there in the first place after he read the Caller’s ID.

Adonis sneered and said, "Heh. Is that your little boyfriend?"

Blue wasn’t even listening to him at this point as he had already accepted the call and was walking in the direction that had fewer people.

"My love..." Blue heard a deep voice rumble.

His heart didn’t fail to skip a beat because of the voice and the words.

"Hi," Blue simply said, pretending as though his entire being wasn’t shaken by the person on the other side of the phone.

"Where are you? I miss you..." Winter whined.

Blue cleared his throat and said, "Still at the set. The actors keep making mistakes on a particular scene so we’ve been stuck in one place since afternoon."

And the time was a couple minutes after nine now. Blue was mentally exhausted.

"When are you going to come home? I’m lonely." Winter shamelessly complained.

Blue glanced at the set and was able to hear the director shouting ’cut’ for the umpteenth time. He turned away and sighed before responding with the words, "I have no idea."

The line went silent for a while after Blue said those words before Winter spoke up again.

"I hate that those people are keeping you away from me. Fire them and get new actors." Winter said, sounding like a ’domineering CEO attack’.

Blue couldn’t help but roll his eyes where he was standing.

"Hmm. Why don’t you do it for me?" Blue indulged Winter.

Then he heard ruffling in the background before Winter said, "If you want me to, I would."

Blue didn’t bother hiding his laughter this time as he said, "As expected of a third-gen rich kid."

Winter sighed from the other side and Blue could imagine him rolling his eyes and pinching his nose. Even after two years, Blue still teased Winter with that title.

"I’m going off to eat now. Have fun with your set people." Winter said, sounding offended.

Blue didn’t bother asking Winter not to terminate the call as he laughed through the call ending.

Blue was in a much better mood after the phone call as there was still a smile on his lips while he walked back to the set. However, the smile was wiped away as soon as he came in contact with Adonis once again.

"You’re back from talking to your little boyfriend?" Adonis spoke with a teasing voice, wiggling his eyebrows.

Blue was not in any way close to Adonis that would prompt him to respond to Adonis’s questions or indulge him in a joke. He didn’t like the guy as a person. And for that reason, Blue frowned once again and said, "Mind your business and know how to talk well."

Adonis jumped into Blue’s personal space bubble as he said, "I don’t want to mind my business. I want to mind your own business. What’s wrong with that? And what do you mean? I always talk well; especially to you since you’re the boss’s boss."

Adonis’s last statement infuriated Blue. The guy always found a way to refer to Blue with that title almost every day. The boss he spoke about was referring to the Dumont family as they were investing heavily into the production of the film.

It wasn’t new news that the Dumonts cherished Blue as he was the lover of the heir to the dynasty. It was of everyone’s opinion that Blue was where he was today because of them; from the popularity of his second book, to the adaptation, to his role in the adaptation, and his current standing in the society.

After the deeds of Preston Kent were aired out, the Kent family was dealt with a critical hit. Even as the one who exposed the information, Blue hadn’t been entirely saved from the backlash. It was Winter who sheltered him from every one of his problems.

Others saw this as Blue leeching on Winter.

"Watch your mouth." Blue simply said to Adonis, refusing to be baited.

Then he walked past Adonis and stopped when he was beside the head director. It was a hard man in his middle age who had pulled the hairs on his head so much that there was nothing to pull at anymore.

Blue had a normal relationship with Ken McIntyre, so he wasn’t afraid to tap the man’s shoulders and talk to him.

"Can we wrap it up for today? It’s clear that they’re not going to perfect this scene. It’s been hours. Let’s sleep on it and work on something else tomorrow." Blue suggested.

Ken was not entirely happy with Blue’s suggestion but he knew he was right. The actors had NG’d so much that they couldn’t even remember their lines anymore.

Ken could only sigh and rub his forehead. Then he called everyone’s attention and told them to wrap up what they were doing since it was late.

Blue was the happiest about this. He picked up his things and wanted to go home as fast as he could. Knowing that if he wasted even the slightest bit of time, he would cross paths with Adonis once again, who had the ability to dampen his mood, Blue hailed a can very quickly and left the shooting venue.

On his way home, Blue kept thinking about sleeping in Winter’s arms. He was so tired and was in desperate need of being babied.

The cab stopped in front of Winter’s building and Blue took the elevator up to Winter’s room. He let himself into the house and was surprised to see Winter already standing at the door waiting for him.

Winter widened his arms and Blue collapsed into his chest. Winter’s arms wrapped themselves around Blue’s body and Blue snuggled against Winter’s chest.

He was finally home.
