Chapter 65 - 63 | Run Away
Chapter 65: 63 | Run Away
The next morning, Blue woke up to an empty bed. His body felt amazing. Pheromone Disorder, who?
It was only after stretching and yawning that Blue remembered the events that transpired the previous night. He immediately halted his movements as his expression turned stony.
"Fuck..." He said aloud.
Blue remembered how doomed he was. And how stupid he was as well. He remembered that he was an idiot who deserved to be spanked a thousand times and beaten to a pulp.
But he also remembered one thing. And it made his cheeks turn red with embarrassment as he squeezed the sheets on either side of him.
Blue came to a decision as he forced himself up from his comfortable bed. Then he spotted something when he was already on his feet. On his bed stand was the lamp that he remembered shattering the previous night.
Blue looked at the floor, searching for the shards that had designed it the previous night. He couldn’t find a single one.
’Did Winter buy a brand new lamp for me that looks like the exact one we broke?’
Answer to that question: Yes.
Blue could only sigh and push his hair back from his face. Blue didn’t go inside his bathroom to freshen up. Instead, he made his way to the living room.
Lo and behold, he found a third-gen rich kid sleeping on his couch. Blue didn’t shriek with surprise or make any sudden movements. He only stopped walking, giving his brain the time to sink in the fact that Winter had spent the night at his place on the couch.
Winter, whom he was sure had never had to sleep on any other thing that was neither a king nor a queen-sized luxury bed. That same Winter had cramped himself into his couch and was sleeping with visible discomfort on his face and body.
Blue didn’t know whether to laugh or cry at this turn of events. His body willed him to take a step forward. And another. And another. In a few seconds, Blue found himself standing in front of Winter.
He bent his legs so that he could be on the same level as Winter. Up close, Blue liked to look at Winter. Winter had the kind of face that one couldn’t help but stop to stare at; no matter how face blind one was or how ignorant to charm one was.
The shape of Winter’s eyebrows were perfect, not too sharp, not too thin, not too long. He had a straight nose that granted him a killer side profile, Blue thought. And Winter’s lashes...
What was a boy, and an Alpha no doubt, doing with such long and curved lashes?!
At that thought, Winter’s lashes flickered, almost wanting to show off that they were long. Blue didn’t know that a scowl had set on his face as his eyes trailed down to Winter’s lips.
An image was pasted in his mind as he looked at Winter’s lips. Winter’s wicked and devilish lips.
Blue suddenly felt like a criminal for thinking so dangerously about a sleeping man. A guilty look painted Blue features as he stood up straight once again and advanced to walk away.
However, the sound of something made Blue freeze on the spot.
"You can keep looking."
Winter’s voice was soft but held a rough edge, as if he’d screamed all night and now had to speak with a low and hoarse tone. Blue felt his body go weak.
He had to mentally slap himself before he was able to compose himself and turn around to face Winter again.
"So you’re awake." Blue said. It wasn’t a question.
Winter opened his eyes at that moment and glanced at Blue. The green eyes that swept Blue’s figure from head to toe did nothing but hasten Blue’s heartbeat.
"I... You can leave now." Blue forced those words out of his mouth, the reality of the things that transpired the previous night slammed into his head at full force.
As he turned around to run away, Blue’s hand was caught and he was pulled down. Blue landed on top of Winter horizontally with no means of getting back up as Winter still held onto his hand tightly.
"Don’t run away. Please." There was a hint of desperation in Winter’s voice as he said those words.
A pang of guilt strummed Blue’s heartstrings as he looked at Winter’s sincere face, unable to shift his gaze elsewhere.
This. This was exactly what Blue didn’t like and feared the most. It was the fact that Winter was able to say things in a way that would break his resolve and have him agreeing with whatever Winter wanted him to agree with.
"Let go of me first." The words came out of Blue’s mouth like a plea.
"Promise you won’t run away."
Blue wasn’t ready to promise anything. The only reason why he wanted Winter to let go of him was just so he could run away!
"Let go first." Blue insisted without making any promises.
Winter didn’t let go of him. Instead, Winter placed his other hand on Blue’s waist as he sat up on the chair, maneuvering the two of them into a sitting position. All of this done, Winter was still holding onto Blue with no chance of letting him go.
"I want to start by apologizing to you for... what I did." Winter’s words dropped to a whisper as he spoke. "I swear not to ever repeat my actions again. I was just in over my head and maybe due to the fact that my rut is coming up, my pheromones have been leaking uncontrollably and influencing my actions.
"However, that still isn’t an excuse for what I did to you. I’m sorry. I’m truly sorry. And I’ll accept every punishment you want to give to me. I swear it." Winter spoke with a solemn tone, casting his gaze onto his lap along the line.
Blue got the urge to roll his eyes. Winter could only say these things and could never erase his actions. What was the point in apologizing?
And Blue believed that when a person had done something once, no matter how much they rebuked their own actions, there was still a chance of them doing it again.
Take himself for example. After kissing Winter the first time, he had spent days mulling over his actions and telling himself that he wasn’t going to do it again.
Now, Blue had kissed Winter multiple times and enjoyed each of the kisses.
Blue believed that as long as Winter was an Alpha, he would behave like an Alpha. No matter how much he wanted to portray himself as anything other than an Alpha.
There was no changing who he was. And Blue hated the fact that he was beginning to understand that.
After apologizing, Winter waited to hear from Blue, preparing to be told to disappear from his life completely or to do something that involved him admitting his wrong to the public.
All night, Winter had imagined the things that Blue could and would do to him when he was in his right frame of mind. And he’d prepared himself for the storm he started.
However, instead of dishing out the hardest of hard punishment to Winter for what he did, Blue said, "I have pheromone disorder."
"Huh?" Winter questioned, taken aback by the sudden change in course in the topic of discussion.
"It’s a second grade pheromone disorder. Something about me dying if I didn’t expel the toxins in my pheromones that are trapped in my glands." Blue said with such a dismissive tone that made Winter uncertain if he was talking about dying.
"Hold on, did you just say dying??" As soon as the meaning of Blue’s words registered in Winter’s head, he exploded.
Blue nodded in response to his question and said, "Yeah. But it’s nothing serious. It’s just mildly discomforting and painful whenever my glands start acting up and—"
"Oh, my God!" Winter exclaimed.
Blue had pheromone disorder! The one issue that scared every Alpha and Omega! Yet, he was acting as though he was totally fine and speaking like his disorder was just something in passing.
Pheromone Disorder killed! It fucking killed people. Forty percent of people diagnosed with it didn’t live to tell the story of surviving it. Now, Blue was saying he had such a disorder.
Winter wasn’t aware that the hand he had been using to hold onto Blue was trembling. In fact, his entire body was trembling. And he wasn’t even the one with the disorder!
"Stop acting like it’s a big deal. It’s not and I’m fin—"
"What is wrong with you?" Winter cut Blue off. "How can you be fine??"
A lot of things started to make sense in Winter’s head. No wonder Blue was always shamelessly asking for his pheromones. No wonder Blue’s leaked out unconsciously and he couldn’t control them.
No wonder Winter had mistaken Blue for being in his heat... All that and even more things that Winter had failed to make himself aware of was because Blue was struggling with Pheromone Disorder.
A strong sense of guilt instantly landed on Winter’s shoulders.
