Chapter 39: 37 | Appreciation

Blue spent an hour showering while thinking about Winter. His mind kept on trailing off to the things that he had done the previous night.

The more he thought of them, the more he grew angry. The first thing that he was going to do after checking out of the hotel was to find the foolish Alpha who had thought he could drug him and get away with it.

Yes, Blue had thoroughly beaten him up, but that wasn’t enough. He had to face legal consequences as well.

After dealing with the Alpha, Blue was going to find a way to thank Winter. He was dreading doing that. How was he supposed to open his mouth and thank an Alpha, of all beings?

The shame, the embarrassment, the awkwardness, Blue didn’t know how he was going to put all those things aside to appreciate Winter to his face.

Blue could already imagine Winter smiling smugly after being thanked. Ever since they decided that Winter would stop wearing a fake face, the latter had gone all out; never thinking twice before behaving shamelessly.

Blue ended his shower, but he still stood under the shower head. His head was placed against the bathroom wall.

"Fuck..." Blue drawled, not able to find any other word that could express how he was feeling at that moment.

’It’ll be fine, Blue. Just say thank you. It’s not like he’s going to record you saying it and set the recording as his ringtone, right?’

Just as Blue had that thought, a shiver ran down his spine. Winter wouldn’t do such a thing, right? He was not the most noble Alpha out there, but he wasn’t that petty, right?

He shouldn’t be.

He was able to restrain himself from taking advantage of an Omega in heat. Not many Alphas in the world could do that. Not even ones who already had marked Omegas. Doing such a thing showed that he was not as bad as Blue had made him out to be.

With a sigh, Blue cleaned up himself and walked out of the bathroom. He got ready in his clothes from the previous night and was set to leave the hotel room.

As he reached the door to pull it open, Blue realized that the door was locked from the outside.

"What the fuck..."

The memory of Winter locking the door from outside after delivering suppressants to him last night surfaced in Blue’s head. His lips drew upwards his annoyance. Blue pushed his hair back and sighed in resignation.

Now, he’d have to wait for the hotel’s staff to find out that something was wrong somewhere before getting out of the room. Ugh... It was so annoying.

Blue was about to turn around and settle on the bed when he heard a click sound. The door to the room opened slowly and someone poked their head inside.

The second Winter’s eyes met with Blue’s eyes, Winter jerked back and shut the door in a hurry.

"Sorry. I didn’t know you were awake!"

There was a hint of panic in Winter’s voice as he spoke. Blue rolled his eyes, then reached for the door and opened it again, showing that there was nothing wrong with him being awake.

Winter peeked at Blue. Once he noticed that Blue was in his normal state and that the effects of the heat-inducing pill had worn off, he exhaled in relief.

"Good morning." Winter greeted.

Blue hummed in response and opened the door wide enough so that Winter could step in. The scent of Blue’s pheromones still lingered in the air, but they were not as prominent in comparison to the previous night.

If a regular Omega and Alpha were to step into the room, they wouldn’t be able to sense the pheromones floating around. However, Blue was a Dominant Omega and Winter was an Extremely Dominant Alpha, they could make out the pheromones in the air very clearly.

But they were not actively being disturbed by it, so none of them raised an issue concerning it.

"So..." Blue was the first person to speak after shutting the door and facing Winter who had already invited himself to sit on the bed.

"So..." Winter also said, the awkwardness between the two of them was equally suffocating for him.

"Thank you." Blue said in a hurry, not wanting to drag out his words.

However, his words came out so fast that Winter didn’t catch them. Or at least, Winter pretended not to catch them.

"Huh? What was that?" Winter said, raising a brow in curiosity. It was not clear to Blue whether Winter was being sincere.

But for the sake of appreciation, Blue sighed and repeated slowly, "Thank you..."

"For what?" Winter said, sounding as though he was genuinely not fishing for gratitude.

Blue took a step in Winter’s direction and said, "For not taking advantage of me. Honestly, I thought you would. Judging by," the fact that you’re an Alpha.

Blue didn’t say the rest of his words out loud, but Winter could already guess what they were. And so he sighed and rubbed his hand down his face.

"You’re the one who always seems to be preaching this, but being in a vulnerable state doesn’t equate to everyone wanting to take advantage of you as an Omega. It was hard, but I’m not that kind of person." Winter spoke with an earnest tone.

But his words were clothed in lies.

If it were to be any other Omega that Winter had been chasing, he would have had his feel of them and abandoned them the next day.

In fact, there was a time in which the Omega that Winter had been chasing happened to experience their heat cycle in his vicinity. Of course, Winter was gracious enough to help them through it.

After sticking his dick in their hole, he decided to go for another hole. One taste was enough.

But for Blue. He was sure that one taste wouldn’t be enough. And if his first taste of Blue wasn’t completely consensual, it would not be enjoyable.

That was the only reason why Winter didn’t take advantage of Blue. Whereas, Blue had already painted a good image of Winter in his head because of the impeccable show of restraint Winter had demonstrated as an Alpha.

If only Blue knew that Winter was an Alpha down to his bones with no redeeming quality...
