Shades of Blue (Omegaverse BL) -
Chapter 148 - 146 | Vanilla...
Chapter 148: 146 | Vanilla...
Winter went to the office after dropping Blue off to get some things sorted. He worked so few hours that people had begun to forget he was even an employee.
It didn’t really matter though. His parents were also never directly involved in the business, only signing off important deals and coming to prance around in the office when they felt like it.
Winter would also be doing the same thing when he would inherit everything. He was only pretending to care about work now because of his reputation.
Hours passed and once Winter noticed that the time was close to seven, he checked out of the office and began a drive to Blue’s building.
He felt that Blue would obviously not want to go anywhere with him after what happened earlier, so he branched and got them takeout. Also buying flowers and chocolate because they were his signature apology offering.
Winter reached his destination in a short time and went up the building to Blue’s floor. Just as he was stepping out of the elevator, he saw Kendall knocking on Blue’s door.
Winter’s eyes narrowed immediately. Kendall must have felt his burning gaze or heard the ding sound of the elevator which made him turn around to see Winter. The expression on his face didn’t change.
"What are you doing?" Winter strode towards Kendall as he spoke in an accusatory tone.
"Visiting my neighbor. Is that a problem?" Kendall said casually.
"Yeah. He doesn’t have time for you, go away," Winter didn’t even bother to act polite with Kendall.
It was all Kendall’s fault that Blue was acting off with him. If the guy hadn’t gone off and run his mouth to Blue, there would still be a chance for Winter to tell Blue things from his own point of view and get him to not hate him.
Kendall frowned after being shooed away by Winter.
"It’s not your house. You don’t get to tell me what to do," Kendall spoke with a privileged tone, turning away from Winter and continuing to knock on Blue’s door.
There was no response after almost three minutes.
Both Winter and Kendall found it odd.
"What’s going on?" Winter muttered to himself as he shoved Kendall away and knocked loudly.
"Blue? Blue, are you in there?"
No response came out after Winter’s calling. That was when he decided to turn the doorknob and realized that the door had been open all along. Typical Blue.
Winter casually invited himself into Blue’s home and set the things he brought on the kitchen counter. Kendall also invited himself inside. When Winter noticed this, he almost blew a fuse.
"Who told you to come in? What are you–"
"Can you smell that?" Kendall cut Winter off as he walked deeper into the apartment, in the direction of Blue’s room.
Winter frowned. Then he took a second to sniff the air and analyze the scent Kendall was referring to. His senses came alert.
"Vanilla..."
It was Blue’s pheromones. Winter’s legs immediately came alert as he walked out of the kitchen and hurried inside Blue’s room. He swung the door open and stepped into the room to find Blue cuddled around himself on the bed.
The entire room was covered with the thick scent of Blue’s pheromones. Winter almost found it suffocating.
He rushed to Blue’s bed to try and wake him up, but immediately his hand came in contact with Blue’s bare arm, he flinched and hissed.
"What? What’s wrong?" Kendall was just walking into the room at the moment Winter touched Blue.
"He’s freaking hot. Burning!" Winter exclaimed as he reached to touch Blue’s forehead.
It was the same temperature as his arm. Winter looked at Blue’s face and noticed that there were tears running down his cheeks as he slept.
Winter’s heart began to beat rapidly with fear. He immediately carried Blue into his arms, ignoring the heat radiating off his body.
"I’m taking him to the hospital," Winter said to Kendall, already walking out of the room.
"What’s wrong with him? Why are his pheromones everywhere? Is he in heat?" Kendall trailed after Winter as he asked all of those questions.
"I don’t know. And I don’t think so," Winter responded with a slight hint of panic in his voice.
If Blue was in his heat, he wouldn’t be unconscious. Winter hadn’t seen Blue like this. Why was he crying in his sleep? And why were his pheromones going off the charts?
Even if he had pheromone disorder, the temporary mark on his neck was supposed to help him to dull the effects of his pheromone disorder for the mean time. So why was Blue’s body acting up?
Winter quickly left Blue’s house and took the elevator to the first floor. Kendall was with him all the way. While in the lift, the tension in the air was pungent.
Winter couldn’t sense it well because his full attention was on Blue. Checking his body and trying to get him to wake up. This only made Blue stir in his sleep and cry even harder.
"No... Don’t touch me..." A soft pleading voice resounded in the elevator.
It took a while for Winter, who was even the person holding Blue, to realize that the voice belonged to him.
"What? What’s wrong?" Winter questioned Blue gently.
Of course, Blue didn’t respond, only stirring and crying. Winter was so confused and scared. What was going on?
He reached to touch Blue’s neck and this time, the heat almost made him drop Blue as the elevator made a ding sound and stopped at the first floor.
Winter didn’t step out of it immediately as he slightly turned Blue’s head around to get a look at his glands. The spot where his glands were supposed to be located at the back of his neck was abnormally swollen and reddish in color.
"What the fuck??"
The person who said this was not Winter but Kendall, who had chosen to sneak a peek at Blue’s neck as well.
Winter rushed out of the elevator, a new wave of fear overwhelming his being.
’Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. Fuck.’
That word was on repeat in Winter’s head as he basically ran to the space where he parked his car, Kendall taking the same pace as him. Winter’s mind wasn’t in its right state as he opened the back door and gently laid Blue on the chair.
Then he even opened the passenger door for Kendall before walking around to settle down at the driver’s seat.
"Fuck. His glands are not normal. Are his pheromones affecting you?" Kendall spoke to Winter as he got into the car.
"I don’t know, damn it!" Winter panicked.
"He’s not even an alpha, and his pheromones are choking me. It’s so strong," Kendall mentioned as Winter started the engine of the car and began to drive.
Winter could relate to what Kendall was saying as Blue’s pheromones began to overtake the atmosphere of the car so much so that he had to wind down the glass so that fresh air could come in.
What was wrong with Blue? What was all this? Why was he crying? What about the baby? Was it the baby affecting him?
So many thoughts were running through Winter’s mind as he drove as fast as he could, ignoring traffic signs as he went.
He was scared out of his mind, freaked out. What if there was something terribly wrong with Blue that couldn’t be fixed? What then? What was he going to do without Blue?
What would be the point of living if Blue wasn’t by his side? What would–
"Winter! Hey! Winter! What are you doing? Calm down for Christ’s sake!" Kendall snapped at Winter, noticing the terrified look on Winter’s face as he drove recklessly.
"Blue is going to be fine. Don’t fucking think too much and give yourself high blood pressure. Just focus on getting him to the hospital right now. Everything is going to be fine." Kendall spoke with a composed tone, being the voice of reason between the two of them.
"Hah... you’re right. Everything is going to be fine. Blue is fine." Winter reassured himself, though he didn’t come off like he actually believed in his own words.
Kendall kept on having to tell him that Blue was going to be alright so as to keep Winter from losing his sanity till they reached the hospital.
Winter picked Blue up from the backseat and rushed into the hospital, demanding immediate attention. Since Blue was an omega, and omegas were always prioritized first in hospitals, Winter was attended to.
Blue was rushed to be examined by a doctor, leaving Winter alone with his full head of negative thoughts.
Author has something to say: What do you guys think is wrong with Blue?
And it’s crazy the way Winter opened the door for Kendall because he was not at all thinking straight. Haha haa.
