Chapter 135: 133 | Winter’s Past and Other Sides
Blue didn’t know why he was panicking. He had no reason to be afraid of the possibility of Winter and Kendall meeting.
He had met another of Winter’s exes before. Though it had been an awkward meeting, he came out alive, didn’t he?
So why was he trying to stop Kendall from meeting Winter? If anything, he was supposed to encourage their meeting. So Kendall could realize that Winter had changed and Winter could face his past.
Yet, Blue’s grip on the door handle didn’t move.
"Blue, I know you’re in there. Open the door, please," Blue heard Kendall speak from the other side.
"I want to ask for your help with something. I promise not to–" Blue opened the door for Kendall before the guy completed his ongoing sentence that Blue could already predict.
"Hi!" Kendall smiled at Blue.
He wasn’t wearing his glasses today and his hair was a bit disheveled. He was holding a laptop in his hand as he said, "Can I come in?"
"Not now. I have a guest over, so I’m not sure–"
"What’s the hold up?" A deep voice interrupted Kendall.
Blue felt his body being pulled tightly against a larger frame. He gulped down on his saliva. Winter lazily glanced at the other side of the door, expecting to see some alpha trying to hassle Blue.
Winter’s shock when he saw that it wasn’t an alpha but an omega was indescribable. Blue felt Winter’s arm that was around his waist tremble a little.
Over to Kendall who wasn’t expecting Winter to be the guest that Blue had over. The laptop in his hand almost slipped from his grasp, but he managed to catch it in time before it fell on the floor.
"I-I see you’re busy," Kendall didn’t look up as he spoke.
Blue was able to see that his entire face had turned red.
"I’ll c-come some other time," Kendall couldn’t get away fast enough from the two people.
Winter wasn’t able to get his body to move from the position it was in. That was how Kendall disappeared back into his house, leaving Winter and Blue to deal with the aftermath of his brief presence.
Blue couldn’t explain why he felt more awkward than when he met Winter’s other ex. In fact, it wasn’t even awkwardness that he felt. He felt... out of place.
"Go back inside," Blue loosened Winter’s grip around his stomach and shut the door.
Then he looked at Winter. Winter’s face depicted deep and complex emotions. He looked like he was having an internal battle with himself.
"Are you okay?" he asked Winter.
Winter didn’t even pretend like he heard what Blue said as he continued to struggle mentally.
Blue’s curiosity and fear peaked.
What Winter and Kendall shared in the past, was it that serious to have Winter behave like this?
"Winter? Talk to me," Blue grabbed Winter’s arms and shook him till he retrieved his senses.
"I’m fine, fine. What’s up?" Winter spoke with a dismissive tone, letting Blue’s grip loosen on his arms.
"Are you sure? You don’t feel anything? You’re not going to say anything?" Blue questioned Winter. There was an odd softness to the tone he used.
That was when Winter faked a smile in front of Blue and casually said, "What are you talking about? I’m perfectly fine."
Blue instantly let go of Winter.
"You were right about me overstaying my welcome. I have a few things to do at the office. I’ll go now," Winter spoke in a hurried tone. Then he pecked Blue’s forehead and basically ran out of the house.
Hearing the door getting slammed shut as Winter left, Blue’s fists tightened.
Winter just lied to him. Pretended in front of him. Something that he promised he would never do.
Blue’s fists clenched and unclenched.
This was not what he had been afraid of if Kendall and Winter met. Blue had been afraid that Kendall would spill out everything that happened between them and that he wouldn’t be able to stand Winter anymore, faced with his true self.
That wasn’t what happened.
Blue couldn’t even explain what just happened. But it did not sit right with him. And it was clear that Winter still had lingering feelings for Kendall.
If he didn’t, then he wouldn’t have reacted in such a way. He would have been more cautious. He would have tried to soothe Blue of his worries about him and Kendall.
But he didn’t.
He didn’t even admit knowing Kendall. Didn’t say anything, assuming that Blue didn’t know that he and Kendall had a past.
Why would Winter do such a thing? Why would Winter withhold things from him? What was he so afraid of?
Blue felt fear ensnaring his being, making a nest for itself in his heart.
Blue had always told himself that he didn’t care about Winter’s past and the other parts of him that he hadn’t met while remaining curious about them.
Now he wasn’t just curious about them, he was afraid of Winter’s past and other sides.

Winter parked his car smoothly in front of a hospital. Blue was sitting on the passenger seat, absently looking through the window.
"We’re here," Winter announced. Blue didn’t react.
Winter placed his hand on Blue’s shoulder, shaking it as he repeated, "We’re here."
"Oh," Blue said mildly, snapping back into his senses.
Winter sighed, then got down from the car. He walked over to the other side and opened the door for Blue. He put out his hand, and surprisingly, Blue took it, using it to help himself out of the car.
Blue never took his hand.
"Are you okay?" Winter asked Blue. "You’ve been acting off all morning. Is something wrong?"
Blue shook his head negatively, not saying a word.
"Are you sure? Does it hurt anywhere?" Winter tried to touch Blue’s stomach through his shirt, but his hand was abruptly slapped away.
"I’m good," Blue said sharply, his words sounding too defensive.
Winter was confused as he withdrew his hand and muttered an apology.
"Let’s go in. It’s almost time for our appointment," Winter informed Blue, smiling.
Blue didn’t return his smile, only nodding and taking the first step towards the hospital building.
Winter watched Blue with concern, wondering what was wrong with him.
He had no idea that he was to blame for Blue’s current absent state.
