Chapter 985: 016 Indirect Confession
Jollie Auclair was scolded as a barking dog. She hadn’t come back to her senses when she heard the manager’s following words, implying that they were indeed about to call the police. All she did was splash water on Avery Graham. In their circles, when two people quarreled, it was quite common to splash water. Today she had done it and it had escalated to the involvement of the police?
And who was this Bernard Taylor to actually have the authority to have her taken to the Police Station?
As things had progressed to this point, her heart was still uncertain. She looked up at Adelle Turner’s group, only to see that everyone there seemed to be displeased, and Adelle Turner wore the same dazed expression as herself.
It wasn’t long before Edo Holt was sent down, and after Jollie Auclair was asked a few questions, she was taken away just like that.
"Let’s continue eating then," Bernard Taylor said calmly as he saw Avery had dried her face and sat down.
Avery also sat down. It really wasn’t a big deal, just being splashed with a cup of water. Back when she was a nurse, dealing with the emotional outbursts of patients’ families was all too common; it was more than just being splashed with water – getting hit seemed to be part of the job.
The manager hurriedly put on a smile and whispered something to Bernard Taylor. Bernard Taylor nodded, and the lines on his face relaxed slightly.
Subsequently, Manager Zhao ran over to Adelle Turner’s group, blacklisted them, took their photos with the automatic greeting machine at the entrance, and set up their profiles. All was taken care of in no time.
"Those of you not involved may leave now. I’m afraid our establishment can no longer serve you in the future. Please leave," Manager Zhao told Adelle Turner’s group before turning to instruct the Security Team Leader.
Adelle Turner had never expected to be blacklisted; this meant that not only would she no longer be able to enter this Emperory, but all Emperory restaurants would deny her entry.
What Adelle Turner was even more surprised by was the influence Bernard Taylor possessed, and that someone with such influence was a friend of Avery Graham.
After being kicked out of Emperory, Adelle Turner called Michael Auclair. She was immediately hung up on. She knew that besides work matters, Michael Auclair had no desire to hear her voice at all.
Although she uploaded those photos, the one who had pressured him to break up with Avery was not her. Yet, Michael Auclair still loathed her, as he believed it was because of her that he had to break up with Avery.
Adelle Turner called again, after being hung up on three times, she sent a text and a message on Whatsapp to him, informing him that his sister Jollie had been taken away by the police because of Avery.
A minute later, Michael Auclair finally called back. A bitter smile spread across Adelle Turner’s face. Indeed, only Jollie could provoke such a reaction from him. He wouldn’t talk to her about feelings, but she still had feelings for him. She quickly picked up, "Michael, Jollie has been taken by the police. If you have time, please come over quickly. I’ll wait for you here at Emperory."
"How did she get taken by the police? What did you take her to do again? Adelle, I let Jollie follow you, not for you to lead her into trouble every day. If you can’t take good care of her or don’t want to, then tell me sooner," Michael Auclair fumed, wondering how his perfectly fine sister ended up at the police station.
What a scene it would be if his mother found out about this.
"No, it’s not like that. We came to Emperory for steaks, and we happened to see Avery with a man here as well. Jollie felt indignant and wanted to stand up for you by splashing water on Avery’s face. But who knew, that man with Avery has such abilities. It was only a splash of water, and not only did we get blacklisted by Emperory, but Jollie was also taken away by the police," explained Adelle Turner.
Michael Auclair frowned upon hearing Adelle Turner’s words. He could almost guess what had happened. The man Adelle referred to must be Bernard Taylor. To resolve this situation, it seemed he would have to personally ask Avery for help to get Jollie out safely.
Jollie really knew how to create a mess. He had told her before that G City was not like their small town; one couldn’t just do whatever they desired, let alone throw tantrums. But the girl just wouldn’t listen.
Now she’s caused a big problem, running off and getting locked up in a police station. Could a police station possibly be a good place? A place suitable for a good girl to come and go as she pleases?
"Alright, I’ll be right there," said Michael Auclair lazily as he got up from bed. These days, except for entertaining guests, he spent the rest of his time lazing in bed.
