Chapter 969: 013 Let’s Cooperate (Second Update)_4

Avery Graham walked into the Resting Room, "Mom, do you want something to eat?"

"No need, I had plenty this morning. Just came out for a walk and ended up here. Your Cake Shop is doing quite well," Avery’s mother said appreciatively.

In the past, Avery had spoken in front of her about buying a house on her own, and her mother thought it was a bit of a pipe dream, but now, seeing such a scene, she believed that Avery’s words might indeed come true.

"Yeah, today is not bad, probably because it’s the first day of business after the New Year. But the daily turnover is still good. If nothing unexpected happens, by the end of the year, I should be able to buy a house. Then, you and dad can move over and live with me," Avery said as she held her mother’s hand. It had been a long time since she had cuddled in her mother’s arms and acted like a spoiled child; today, she suddenly felt like doing just that.

"Yeah, okay," Avery’s mother nodded, then stretched out a hand and embraced her daughter. "Avery, mom won’t force you to go on blind dates anymore. As long as you feel it’s right, that’s fine."

"Mom, don’t worry. Your daughter isn’t weird. Give me some time, and I’ll marry myself off, okay?" Avery promised. Actually, when mother and daughter spoke nicely to each other, they could be this peaceful.

"Silly girl, take your time choosing. We need to keep our eyes open in the future. You’re only 26 this year, we’re still young, right?" Avery’s mother had finally come to terms with matters.

"Mom, tell me the truth, where did you go just now?" Avery, sensitive and perceptive, felt that her mother’s mood was somewhat unusual.

"I went to Michael Auclair’s company and happened to run into..." Avery’s mother didn’t hide anything, knowing she couldn’t keep it secret anyway, but suddenly she didn’t want to talk about that bastard anymore.

"Mom, no matter what you ran into, that’s his freedom now. Whatever he does doesn’t affect me. Don’t worry, my relationship with him is completely severed," Avery said. Now that Giselle Browman was no longer working under him, they were even less likely to have any contact.

"Yeah, I know. Giselle is quite straightforward too. When this happened, she stood by our side immediately and even resigned on her own initiative," Avery’s mother thought of her thoughtful niece and was very pleased, feeling a bit guilty toward her own sister. "Tell Giselle to come in and rest. Don’t let her get too tired."

"She’s gone to interview for a new job. Don’t worry, Giselle is more suited to be a white-collar worker. Her work ability is outstanding; she can develop well wherever she goes, and the salary won’t be lower than at her previous company," Avery said. Although she did not want Bernard Taylor to give Giselle Browman special treatment on the surface, deep down, she still hoped Giselle Browman would get some care from him.

This is probably the contradiction of human nature.

"Is that so? Then that’s good. You and Giselle are both capable and good children. Really great," Avery’s mother was overjoyed.

Seeing both sisters doing well made her heart very happy.

"Alright, I’m going back to make dinner for your dad. Do you want to come home for lunch? Never mind, never mind, you’re so busy. Just look after yourself and come home often. Mom will make you soup, okay?" After speaking, Avery’s mother stood up and left.

Avery saw her out and helped her to hail a taxi.

Avery’s mother had changed somewhat. In the past, if she had seen Bernard Taylor, she definitely would have asked a lot of questions, but now, she didn’t ask a single question about him. That was change.

Avery smiled. If her mother had always been like this, Avery would not have thought about moving out. But it didn’t matter; their family was due for a bigger house so they could all live together.

Avery turned to get busy in the shop, helping out in the kitchen for a while. At noon, everyone ordered take-out fast food, which was delivered to the shop. They drank the shop’s beverages, enjoying a harmonious moment together.

Avery’s fast food was the last to arrive. She picked up her chopsticks and was about to eat when a luxury car pulled up outside. Everyone’s eyes widened; this must be a big business opportunity.

But Avery narrowed her eyes; she had recognized that the car belonged to Nancy Sallow. Right, how could she have forgotten Nancy Sallow? Could her cooperation with Bernard Taylor be affected by Nancy Sallow’s interference?

Nancy Sallow got out of the car and walked in, taking off her hat and sunglasses. She quickly spotted Avery, "Avery Graham, are you free now? Let’s go out for a meal together?"
