Chapter 953: 010 Ugly Face_3
"Michael Auclair explained that he had been with Adelle Turner before, but it ended. That night, the reason Adelle Turner went to Michael Auclair’s place was to get company materials because the next day, Michael Auclair was planning to take my sister Avery home," Bernard Taylor recounted, believing this to be a fairly reasonable explanation.
"Really? So that’s how he bluffed his way through?" Bernard Taylor nodded, thinking to himself how capable Michael Auclair was at deceiving women.
"Bluffed his way through? Brother Bernard, what do you mean by that?" Giselle Browman felt perplexed.
"Just watch this video, and you’ll know whether it’s really over between them or not," Bernard Taylor showed the video on his phone to Giselle Browman.
Though Giselle was doubtful, she watched the video and as it played, her expression darkened. The date and location were clearly captured in the footage—it was from that very night, at Michael Auclair’s place.
Reportedly, Michael Auclair had even planned to turn that place into the matrimonial home for him and Sister Avery.
Giselle Browman never imagined Michael Auclair could stoop so low, and yet she had been foolishly taken in by his charade. How could she have trusted such a hypocrite?
She immediately stopped the video, "I’m calling Sister Avery right now to tell her what kind of a bastard Michael Auclair really is."
Giselle Browman was furious. No wonder Adelle Turner was so smug when she went to see her Sister Avery, even claiming she wanted to order from her shop. Both she and her sister were fools; they knew nothing and were played by these two scoundrels.
"Don’t tell her. If I wanted her to know, I wouldn’t have come to you," Bernard Taylor stopped Giselle Browman from making the call.
Giselle Browman looked at Bernard Taylor with confusion. She was now more certain than ever that Bernard Taylor liked Avery Graham. With such a thing happening, Bernard Taylor should tell Avery Graham and encourage them to break up. During these times, he could spend more time with Avery Graham, and perhaps Sister Avery would fall for him.
After all, Avery Graham never liked Michael Auclair much to begin with; breaking up now seemed like a good thing.
If Michael Auclair was such a person and their aunt knew about it, Giselle thought her aunt might no longer force Sister Avery to go on blind dates. After all, even the person she introduced was so unreliable, wasn’t he?
Giselle Browman also hated herself for how she had initially introduced such a man to her Sister Avery.
Now, she was certain she would resign; she could no longer force herself to work under such a person.
"Why not? I think Sister Avery has the right to know about this," Giselle Browman said, looking at Bernard Taylor.
"She does have the right, but she also has the right to enjoy happiness. In general, people are happier knowing less. I showed you this video because I want you to understand what Michael Auclair is really like. Also, I’ve negotiated a deal with Michael Auclair. By ten o’clock tonight, he must give me an answer. If he doesn’t, I’ll let Avery know," Bernard Taylor went on to explain his situation and gave a brief overview of his deal with Michael Auclair to Giselle Browman.
Giselle Browman got the message. Bernard Taylor was doing this to spare Avery Graham from being upset. Even if Avery didn’t like Michael Auclair, dealing with such a situation would upset anyone.
She could understand Bernard Taylor’s reasoning, but to think that Michael Auclair, after hurting her Sister Avery, could still profit from all this seemed intolerably unfair.
"Brother Bernard, I won’t tell Sister Avery, but you also shouldn’t do business with him. Don’t give him any projects to work on. Why should he get to enjoy such benefits after what he’s done? There’s no such cheap deal. If you promise me that, I won’t talk to Sister Avery, but I will resign. I also need to go back and give him a piece of my mind; otherwise, I won’t be able to let it go," Giselle Browman said, a straightforward and passionate person speaking her mind now that she knew how appalling Michael Auclair had been, she was no longer intimidated by Bernard Taylor.
Upon hearing her words, Bernard Taylor pursed his lips in a smile; he hadn’t misjudged her. In this matter, she was surely on Avery Graham’s side.
"This matter is actually trivial. If you insist, I can do as you say. Since you’ve decided to resign, come work at my company. Think it over and give me a call. I will help you with the arrangements," Bernard Taylor nodded.
