"No, just got used to having some coffee at night. My routine’s been a bit irregular lately," Bernard said casually, "Is Dad showering?"

"Yes, I let him go first. I’ll shower afterward," Nancy nodded, walked over, and asked, "Will you make me some coffee too?"

"Sure, I’ll pour you a cup," Bernard nodded, poured a cup of coffee for Nancy, and placed it in front of her.

"Bernard, I was wrong in the past. I just went back to our room and Dad scolded me, but I think he was right. I’ve reflected on my actions. If you genuinely like Avery, Mom will help you apologize to Avery. Is that okay?"

"Mom, you really don’t need to get involved in my affairs. Just don’t interfere, that’s all I ask. Trust me, I can handle it. When it comes to matters of the heart, let’s just leave it to fate," he genuinely didn’t need Nancy Sallow’s intervention.

"Alright then, Mom just hopes for your happiness. As for Mona Cervantes, if you don’t like her, don’t force yourself to deal with her. I promise you, I won’t push you into another arranged date. Whoever girl you bring home, Mom will like her," Nancy nodded.

"Thanks, Mom," Bernard managed to muster a small smile for Nancy.

Nancy returned the smile. This time, she truly intended to change and learn to accept.
