The people at the scene, if not familiar with the Wade family, at least half of them knew about Jordy Wade. Mainly because Jordy’s personality was too glaring, he had rejected many classified interviews from well-known media outlets and his experience in the business world could be deemed legendary.

Lucy appeared slightly embarrassed. She had simply not expected that Bryan, within such a short time, would know so much about her family’s background, let alone that he had also been dealing with the news stir created by Matilda Ferguson, hadn’t he?

Joyce immediately held back her displeasure and nodded at Lucy, “Miss Wade, good day.”

“Mr. Hawkins, I wish to talk to you, privately.” Lucy blatantly ignored Joyce’s hospitality. Being a woman herself, she was intuitive, it was clear this woman named Joyce Lopez was coveting Bryan.

The reason why she had approached Bryan was because she didn’t agree with Bryan staying close with other women. After all, he was chosen by Carolline Ruiz, and a man chosen by Carolline should only have eyes for Carolline, particularly when Carolline had already been thoroughly indulged by him.

Upon hearing what Lucy had said, everyone else took their leave rather quietly, however, Joyce hadn’t left. She didn’t wish to leave, today she was Bryan’s female companion. Even if Lucy was Jordy Wade’s most doted sister, it didn’t matter, after all, she, Joyce, was clearly not paid any regard by Lucy. Hence, why would she bother about Lucy’s words? Her employer was not Jordy Wade.

“Sister, didn’t you hear me? I specifically told you that I want to speak to Mr. Hawkins privately. What do you mean by lingering around here?” Lucy didn’t like Joyce hence her words were quite forthright.

She had always been like this, straightforward, stating what she thinks. This was why her brother, Jordy Wade, disagreed with her being involved with the entertainment circle. However, she didn’t like always being the little princess under the protection of Jordy Wade either.

She wanted to lead her own life. Over the years, her confrontations with Jordy had always ended up with her being victorious, and it was no different this time.

“Joyce, take a break.” Just as Joyce was about to retort, Bryan spoke up, and he appeared to be on Lucy’s side.

It was solely because Lucy was a friend of Carolline, and not because he agreed with Lucy’s willful and headstrong behavior.

Joyce left indignantly. Seeing Joyce walk away, Lucy stopped pursuing the topic, instead, she directly criticized Bryan, “Mr. Hawkins, you’re already with someone, can you please be a bit conscientious and not flirt around?”

“… Flirting?” Bryan amusingly repeated these words. This was the first time someone had used these words to describe him, “What have I done to make you think that I’m flirting?”

“You’re not even done dealing with Matilda Ferguson yet and you already have Joyce around. Mr. Hawkins, please don’t tell me that you didn’t know that this woman named Joyce is eyeing you like a tiger, did you?” Lucy rolled her eyes. If Bryan dared deny his awareness obliviously, she assured him that she would swear at him right on his face.

“She is my employee in the Hawkins family.” Bryan responded solemnly. He genuinely was not aware of it. Besides, he never bothered about such things. Not every woman interested in him would pique his interest too.

Thinking about it, Carolline was certainly a special case. How she had come into his sight, Bryan had not taken the time to think it over.

“Fine, I understand what you mean, Mr. Hawkins. I simply came over to speak on behalf of Carolline. I just wanted to ask, when do you plan to take responsibility for her? After all, you’ve had her, you can’t just walk away from it, right?” Lucy said very directly, anticipating his response.

“Then you better ask her, I have other matters to handle, I can’t waste any more time with you.” Bryan turned around as soon as he finished speaking, and he beckoned Xavier Estrada standing aside. The two walked directly towards the grand exit of the hall. Bryan had come to show his face only.

Bryan and Xavier were both tall and long-legged. With her short legs, Lucy couldn’t keep up. After two steps, she was left behind. In the end, Lucy could only stand in place furiously.

If she could have discussed this with Carolline, why would she even need to come and remind him?

This man, could he really be thinking about escaping responsibility after taking advantage of Carolline? She would not tolerate such an act that no matter what, even if it meant she would have to go to her brother, she would not let Bryan take advantage of Carolline.

After Bryan and Xavier left, there was no point for Joyce to stay any longer. She knew the two wouldn’t wait for her. As such, her work was done for the day, and the remaining time was her personal time.

She came over to where Lucy stood. “Miss Wade, Mr. Hawkins is not interested in you.”

“I know. I am also not interested in him. However, Mr. Hawkins is also not interested in Miss Joyce. So, it’s better not to be stubborn.” Lucy smirked, responding very frankly, then strutted away from Joyce.

Left standing there, Joyce was stunned. This was the first time anyone had left her speechless.
