Chapter 893: 017 Smoke Disperses, Clouds Disappear_6

"..." Marcus Parker didn’t know what to say anymore. Meeting Ellie Wilton, he knew that his heart, for the rest of his life, would be devoted to her, and no one else.

"Anna, I have wronged you." So many words, all boiled down to this single sentence in the end.

Ellie Wilton shook her head.

Just then, a servant came up to report that the young masters and ladies had arrived, saying they had come to visit the lady of the house.

"Tell them to go back." Marcus Parker didn’t even think before he sent the servant to relay the message.

"Don’t." Ellie Wilton stopped him, remembering that it had been arranged for both families to have dinner together that evening, "Let them in. For dinner, let’s still go out. We should get together, and right now the most important thing is Ryan’s wedding."

She had almost selfishly ruined Ryan’s wedding. If she really took revenge on Hannah Browman, if she hurt her and Marcus’s child, she thought that surely Ryan and Celia Wade would be hurt as well.

After all the trials they had faced, they were finally leading a stable life. She really shouldn’t dwell on the past. Thinking about it, Ryan hadn’t perished in the fire, and had even been adopted by the Wade family. The Wades had been so kind to him, and he had found Celia, a wonderful girl to share his life with.

"Alright, then let them in." Marcus Parker nodded. Now, he naturally followed whatever she and their son wanted.

"Thanks, mom and dad." Ryan Parker finally breathed a sigh of relief.

He really did not wish for any issues to arise between him and Celia now, selfish as that might be.

Called upon, Celia, along with the four of them, appeared in the living room dressed to the nines. They were originally dressed for the dinner, and even though it was canceled at the last moment, upon hearing that Ellie Wilton was unwell, they hadn’t taken time to change. Instead, they bought some nourishing items and fruit and came over.

"Dad, Auntie. We heard Auntie was sick, so we came to visit." The four of them sat on the living room couch, and upon seeing them coming down, Zoey Parker stood up.

"Yes, your thoughtfulness is appreciated." Marcus Parker nodded, noticing the premium gift boxes on the table.

"Auntie, how are you feeling now?" Zoey Parker walked over to Ellie Wilton, her eyes red as if she had just been crying.

"Well, much better, don’t worry." Ellie Wilton said with pursed lips, "Let’s stick to the plan and go out for dinner tonight."

"Auntie, your health is the most important." The children said unanimously.

"..." Ellie Wilton nodded in satisfaction, "Yes, Auntie knows her own body. It’s just that an old friend of mine passed away suddenly, so I was feeling a bit sentimental. Other than that, I’m fine."

"That’s a relief, no problem then." Zoey Parker smiled, then turned to Ryan and Celia, "Ryan, Celia, as your older siblings, we didn’t know what you’d like. After thinking it over, we still thought money was the most practical. Take this to buy whatever you like, okay?"

As she spoke, Zoey Parker handed over four large, thick money envelopes, placing them right in front of Celia.

Celia glanced at Ryan Parker who gave her a slight nod, and then she accepted the money, "Thank you, Zoey."

"Hmm, ’second sister’ would be nicer to hear." Zoey Parker suggested.

"Second sister." Celia was straightforward and changed her expression right away.

"Good. Our family’s most precious fifth brother is now in your care." Zoey Parker said with a smile.

Everyone in the room laughed, and just like that, let go of the past. Ellie Wilton thought so, at least. The harmony right now was truly wonderful.
