That day, Ryan Parker and Ellie Wilton confirmed the date and Photography Studio for the wedding photoshoot. Upon returning home, they found Marcus Parker sitting on the sofa looking unhappy.

Ellie Wilton frowned. It was his own decision not to join them in running errands; why was he upset now? She had called for him that morning when they left.

Ryan Parker, used to his father’s occasional pettiness, said to Ellie, "Mom, I’ll leave that to you; I’m going upstairs to rest."

"Mhm," Ellie Wilton nodded. With the wedding dress photoshoot arranged, Ryan didn’t have much else to do in Kyoto. He was going upstairs to book a flight to G City to bring Celia back.

As days passed, there wasn’t much time left until the May Day holiday, and Ryan was even thinking about moving the date forward, so they were really pressed for time.

"Ryan, come here for a moment, your dad wants to talk to you about something," Marcus Parker called his son directly.

Ellie Wilton gave Ryan a look, feeling sympathy for her son, but this was a situation she couldn’t help with.

"Dad, what’s up?" Ryan walked over as a servant brought him a cup of chrysanthemum tea.

"When are you planning to take over the company?" Marcus Parker got straight to the point. He was getting on in years and had long wanted to unload the burden of managing the group. Finally, having his best son return, he could let go of the reins. Yet, since his return, his son had not even mentioned taking over the company.

While the prospect of his son getting married was delightful, it was a settled matter; what was left was wedding preparations, something that could be left to Ellie Wilton to handle.

In his view, the details of the wedding were something for Ellie Wilton to worry about, as she loved doing it, while Ryan should save time to seriously consider how to develop the group.

After all, for a man, career was the key. He had also heard that Ryan had given all his money to Celia; he didn’t disapprove of a man doting on his wife and even supported his action. Now, being without money, Ryan should be a man with ambition.

This ambition naturally meant taking on his mantle and running his group.

"Have you talked to your four siblings about it?" Ryan wasn’t against taking over the company, but he had two conditions: he would only do so after the honeymoon was over, and he had no interest in fighting with the four Parker siblings. Even if they couldn’t beat him when they teamed up, they were still Marcus Parker’s children.

"Only your Big Brother and second sister are against it. Your third and fourth siblings said they don’t care who takes over as long as they get their annual dividends." He knew his third and fourth children lacked greater ambitions.

"It’s still the same then. Since there are objections, I just can’t take over. Mom says, ’A harmonious family prospers in everything.’" Ryan outright refused his father. To be honest, he didn’t feel like fighting with his blood relatives; it seemed too exhausting.
