Secret Wealthy Marriage
Chapter 84 - 84 84 Must Drink

Chapter 84: Chapter 84: Must Drink Chapter 84: Chapter 84: Must Drink Lucy quickly noticed Carolline’s gaze, and she could tell at a glance what was going on between the two. She wasn’t sure if they liked each other, but Carolline’s look had given it away.

It turned out that the man was Carolline’s secret crush from elementary school. Thinking of Matilda’s despicable behavior, Lucy decided on the spot to help Carolline win over this man.

At the time, she boldly declared that she would “steal” Bryan Hawkins from Matilda. Of course, the man she was interested in wasn’t someone like him, but she just couldn’t stand Matilda’s character.

“Mr. Hawkins, it’s been a long time since Carolline and I have seen each other. We want to catch up, so can we stay? Pretty please?” Lucy brazenly asked.

She’s not the kind of person who can’t read the situation, but since she made up her mind to help Carolline, she was determined to stay.

“I don’t mind,” Bryan glanced at Carolline, who had the same expectant look on her face as Lucy, and then walked towards the private room he had reserved. He only hoped that Lucy’s disturbance would last until the end of their meal.

Carolline then smiled and said to Lucy, “You’re still so shameless, just like when we were kids. Most people hide their cosmetic surgeries, but not you. You want everyone to know.”

“So what? I’m still a natural beauty, and my surgery was just a minor touch-up, not a major operation. Besides, I’m not ashamed or afraid of other people’s opinions. I’m not like Matilda Ferguson, that shameless woman,” Lucy said, bringing up Matilda. She thought Carolline would know her too.

If it weren’t for the news that morning, Lucy wouldn’t have known about the previous relationship between Matilda and Bryan. She couldn’t believe how bad his judgment had been back then.

“What’s your problem with her?” Carolline asked nonchalantly. She didn’t expect their old classmate to share her dislike for Matilda.

“We both participated in the Apricoom Building celebrity endorsement. I had the highest chance of winning, but after she slept with a certain manager, she snatched the first place from me. I know Mr. Hawkins let it slide, so I didn’t make a scene with him. After all, even the most upright leader has a few bad apples in their ranks,” Lucy explained.

Because of Matilda, Lucy had looked into Bryan and learned about his past with her. She couldn’t believe how shameless Matilda could be, trying to exploit their previous relationship for her advantage.

Now, seeing Carolline gazing tenderly at the man, Lucy’s affection for him grew. Of course, most of it was because she had always trusted Carolline’s choices.

Carolline had wisely chosen Lucy as her friend back in the day.

“…” Carolline remained silent after Lucy’s explanation. She was still somewhat surprised, but given what happened with George Morris before, she thought Matilda could probably do anything, “That’s enough. Let’s go eat. Weren’t you still hungry?”

“Mmm, you go ahead. I need to use the restroom first. I drank too much water earlier,” Lucy said, her eyes rolled, and an idea formed in her mind. If Matilda wanted to use the news to win Bryan back, Lucy would make sure her hopes were crushed tonight.

Carolline had no idea what Lucy was planning, so she went into the private room first.

After Carolline entered the room, Lucy took out her phone and called a friend, asking them to quickly bring her what she needed.

Carolline and Bryan waited for nearly 20 minutes, almost half an hour.

“Are you really good friends with Lucy?” Bryan asked skeptically. The two women had such dissimilar personalities, so how could they be good friends?

Additionally, he didn’t really like women in the entertainment circle, and Carolline didn’t pay attention to it either. So, he genuinely doubted how the two could become friends.

Thinking about how Lucy confronted Matilda the night before, he felt uneasy.

“Lucy? Her real name is Celia Wade,” Carolline corrected oblivious of Celia’s stage name, to her, Celia was her dear friend from elementary school and someone she missed dearly.

She always thought they would never have a chance to reunite since the Wade family immigrated abroad and assumed Celia would stay overseas.

“…So, you really are friends.” Bryan didn’t say much more. The dishes he ordered had arrived, but Celia still hadn’t shown up. Somewhat annoyed, he asked, “Did she fall into the restroom or something?”

“Why don’t we start eating and wait for her at the same time? Aren’t you hungry?” Carolline guessed that Bryan might not like Lucy very much.

“Let’s wait a bit more,” Bryan conceded. Despite not liking Lucy much, he had to respect their friendship.

“Sorry for keeping you two waiting. Bryan, since you invited me to dinner, let me invite you to drink some wine. I asked someone to open a bottle of red wine, and it’s been decanting,” Lucy said as she placed the wine glass on the table and poured red wine for Bryan and Carolline, one glass each.

“Sorry, Miss Wade, I can’t drink. I have to drive later,” Bryan flatly refused.

“Don’t worry, I’ve already arranged a designated driver for you,” Lucy said cheerfully, her intentions clear to Carolline, but the girl just couldn’t understand why Bryan had to drink with her.

“Please, Mr. Hawkins, humor me,” Lucy pleaded, resting her hand casually on Carolline’s shoulder. She didn’t need Bryan to give her face for her own sake, she just wanted him to indulge Carolline.

“Alright, I’ll toast to you, Miss Wade,” Bryan conceded, raising his glass of red wine and finishing it off.

Lucy also drank the wine in her hand bravely, her smile could not be contained.

Carolline knew Celia quite well from the past, and whenever she saw that smile, she knew that some scheme was at play. However, she never imagined that this time, it would involve her.
