Axel agreed with Sophia Lawson, and Sophia warned the driver to drive slowly before returning to her own car.

Carolline held Axel in her arms and sat in the back seat. She fell asleep before they arrived home, contrasting significantly with the person in the other car who was staring out the window with a melancholic gaze.

A week seemed to pass fast for Carolline. Plus, she stayed home and had something planned for every day, so she was living a fulfilling life.

She didn’t really need to wake up early to take Axel to the kindergarten, Emily Hill could do that.

The first two days after quitting her job, she was spending time with Celia, and visited Jordy Wade as well.

She spent two whole days with Celia.

Jordy had been moved home from the Hospital thanks to Celia and the caretaker’s efforts, and Celia had started an Amazon store selling unique items such as food.

All handmade. She explained that despite her father refusing to acknowledge her and the money he had previously given her, plus the investments that Jordy Wade once helped her with, she could live comfortably without working.

She worked merely to pass the time rather than out of necessity.

Indeed, even though she spent most of her time taking care of Jordy - bathing him, turning him in bed, doing his exercises, recounting stories from their childhood - there were still hours left in her day to do something else.

Moreover, Celia worried that if she didn’t keep up with the world via the internet, she would be lost if Jordy woke up and needed help understanding the current affairs.

So she had to do something. Additionally, she was quite interested in what she was doing now. Plus, whenever she got stuck, she could always ask Avery Graham for help.

"You quit your job too?" Celia was genuinely surprised when she heard Carolline had as well.

She had always thought Carolline would never give up her career for the sake of a man or family. After all, being a nurse had always been Carolline’s dream.

"Yes, there are too many things coming up - the wedding, honeymoon, second child, all these can’t be managed without resigning. Plus, I want to try something new, just like you have - being a celebrity and a shop owner, right?" Carolline pointed at the items Celia was working on, "I’m also interested in what you’re doing now."

"Really? Then you should invest, and we can be partners." Celia stretched out her hand, asking for the money from Carolline.

"Let me rest for a while before deciding." Carolline didn’t refuse directly.

"Okay. Since you have time, can you help me fill out those express delivery forms. Later, you can take a few bottles of homemade fermented yogurt home to your Aunt and Uncle, and Axel to taste. If they like it, I’ll make some every day and send them over to you." Celia gave her instructions right away.

"Okay, sure." Carolline got to work.

Observing Celia’s increasingly involved daily life, Carolline felt great comfort. Before leaving, she moved to Jordy Wade’s bedside "Big Brother Jordy, we’re all waiting for you to wake up. Once you have had enough rest, wake up soon. Celia needs you heavily. She’s not as brave as you imagine."

Celia happened to hear what Carolline said to Jordy when she was at the door. Unable to hold back her tears, they began to fall.
