Chapter 752: Chapter 752: Surviving the Disaster (5)
After preparing the medications, Carolline Ruiz followed Edward Clark.
"Aren’t you the head nurse? Do you really have to do this personally?" As they walked towards the ward, Edward asked.
"When each department becomes busy, there’s always a shortage of hands. Wherever there’s a shortage, I step in." Carolline explained to Edward, "Have you really divorced Briella Edwards?"
Carolline thought it was quite pitiful for children when their parents got divorced, moreover, if people could completely change their past behavior, then they should be given a chance for a fresh start.
If Cole Duncan could’ve changed his ways sooner, Elena Duncan wouldn’t have become a child without both parents now.
"Yes, I see Ruth every weekend." Edward Clark nodded. Briella Edwards was still reasonable. If it were other women, they wouldn’t have been so understanding.
Thinking about his past behavior, he really owed a lot to this woman.
"That’s good." Carolline nodded, doing it this way, the child would not miss out on the love of both parents.
As they opened the door to the ward, Charlotte Clark’s father was sitting by the bed. Her mother had already woken up, but her face was still pale. When they looked back at Carolline, they weren’t as hostile as before.
"Edward, how many more bottles? Can we be discharged today?" They would set off for Kyoto the day after tomorrow to receive Charlotte Clark’s remains, and her mother didn’t want to delay the trip because of herself.
"There’s one last bottle. After it’s done, we can be discharged. Don’t worry, Mom, you’ll definitely make it." Edward comforted her.
Carolline came over and skillfully changed the IV bag without saying much and prepared to leave.
"You’re Charlotte Clark’s leader, right? I don’t know if your hospital will send someone with us at that time. We don’t quite understand many procedures." Carolline hadn’t reached the door when Charlotte’s mother suddenly spoke up, asking her.
"Yes, they should send someone. Charlotte Clark is not just a martyr to the Clark Family but also a hero in our hospital. Auntie, Uncle, you must restrain your grief. Charlotte is the pride of your family, as well as the pride of all of us, and even more so the pride of the entire nation." Carolline nodded, Gary Skate hadn’t told her yet, but she thought they would probably send someone to accompany the Clark family.
"That’s good, thank you for your comfort. Don’t worry, we can bear it." Charlotte’s mother held back her tears, not allowing them to fall. Their daughter was gone, and as Carolline had said, she left in a way that made them all proud.
Though it was heartbreaking for them and would be painful for the rest of their lives, she really was their pride. They had cherished her from a young age, and she didn’t disappoint their expectations, even adding glory to the Clark Family’s ancestors.
There was no disgrace, only increased respect.
It’s just a pity for such a young life to have been taken.
"Let me walk you out." Edward said to Carolline.
Carolline nodded, and as Edward escorted her to the door, she turned to him and said, "Take good care of Auntie and Uncle. They will need you for the rest of their lives. If you can, plead with your wife. It’s better for a family to be together."
With Charlotte gone, the two elders needed the company of their children and grandchildren. If Briella Edwards and Ruth Clark could return, it might be able to make up for the regret of Charlotte’s absence for the Clark Family.
Edward nodded. He would try his best. After going through so much, he had become much more open-minded and realized many things that he had ignored before. He wanted to make up for them now.
Even if Carolline hadn’t mentioned it, after the matter was over, he would go to find Briella Edwards and Ruth Clark, to bring the mother and daughter back home.
