Chapter 751: Chapter 751: Surviving the Disaster (4)

Bryan Hawkins parked the car in front of Axel’s kindergarten. After watching Axel safely cross the road and enter the kindergarten, Bryan drove Carolline Ruiz to the Hospital.

"I’ll go back to the company first. Call me if you need anything or contact Gary Skate. Don’t be afraid of anything; I’m here for you." Bryan was also worried that Clark Family might react crazily.

Carolline nodded, but she didn’t think there would be any issues.

Even if there were, she could understand. When a person encounters a problem and feels stifled, they need an outlet to vent, and it’ll be fine afterward.

What’s most frightening is the kind of person who hides everything in their heart without saying anything. Those people sometimes do extreme things, hurting others and themselves.

As Carolline walked towards the Inpatient Department building, she met Edward Clark, who had just come out to buy breakfast. The two looked at each other for two seconds, and Carolline didn’t feel guilty, facing Edward directly.

Edward looked at her and stopped her three steps away, "Nurse Carolline, are you on duty?"

"Yes, what are you doing here?" Yesterday, Carolline didn’t ask about the situation with Gary, and Gary didn’t volunteer the information, so she was surprised to see Edward here.

Was he really unreasonable and wanted to blame her for everything?

"My mother was hospitalized yesterday due to excessive grief." Edward appeared calm and had no strong hatred towards Carolline. The government has given their family highest honor for Charlotte Clark, and both the government and the hospital provided material and spiritual consolation. Although these things couldn’t bring Charlotte back to life, their family was not the only one facing such a situation. Other families also had grief, and so did the whole nation.

"Auntie is in the hospital?" Carolline naturally understood the grief of Charlotte’s sacrifice for Clark Family. Gavin Campbell returned home safely, but the two old people were in so much pain, let alone Charlotte being gone.

"Yes, she’s fine now. She was just too sad. She’ll be discharged after receiving another infusion this afternoon. The day after tomorrow, we’re going to Kyoto to collect Charlotte’s remains." Edward spoke calmly.

"I understand, my condolences." Carolline didn’t have any more words to say. She wanted to say she would visit Auntie later, but worried the Clark Family might not accept it.

"Then I’ll leave first to get some breakfast." Edward nodded. At this point, even if he was deeply saddened, his sister wouldn’t come back.

He had no wife or children. His sister was gone. The only people left in his life were his parents. If he didn’t calmly face everything and if he collapsed, his parents would probably lose their only support in their lives.

"Alright." Carolline nodded.

Edward went towards the hospital gate, and Carolline watched his calm back. For a moment, it was hard to associate him with the image of him and Chen’s mother causing a commotion in Henry Lawson’s office.

She was mentally prepared to face the Clark Family’s difficulties at any time but had not expected this face-to-face confrontation. Edward didn’t speak harshly, and he could answer calmly when asked questions.

It goes to say that people need to experience some things to grow up more quickly.

Maturity sometimes seems unrelated to age, but more about experience.

Carolline returned to the office room, changed, and went to help in different departments. After a busy morning, Edward came to the nurse station near noon, saying that the medication was almost finished and asking them to change it.
