"Upset? How so?" Emily Hill was about to say that since their daughter-in-law’s second child was born, and they were boy-girl twins, it was only right for them to buy some gifts and visit. However, she was confused by Carolline Ruiz’s mention of someone being upset. What did it mean?

Both of them were stunned, as they never expected Bryan Hawkins to be so childish. After a moment of silence, they couldn’t help but laugh.

"Let’s all go visit them together tomorrow. After all, it’s a big happy event for our families," Emily Hill planned their schedule for the next day.

"Sure," Carolline agreed without objection.

"It seems that for your next child, Bryan Cooper is looking forward to having a girl," Emily Hill understood some of Bryan Hawkins’ thoughts from Caroline’s description.

"We can’t decide whether to have a boy or a girl," Carolline hesitated for a moment, feeling that her mother’s analysis made sense.

"It’s true that we can’t determine the gender of our child, but parents always have their expectations before the child is born," Emily Hill said.

"... " So, was someone really looking forward to having his own daughter?

Were they so resentful of others having daughters? That’s just bizarre.

"Alright, don’t say anymore. You should go back to your room and rest now. You must be tired from going back and forth like this," Emily Hill said.

Carolline nodded and yawned. She was truly exhausted and since it was already late, she could not go to the hospital.

Meanwhile, Bryan Hawkins helped Axel take a bath, and the father and son lay in bed together. Bryan told less than two stories before Axel fell asleep.

Bryan Hawkins stayed in Axel’s room for a while longer. After hearing no movement outside, he went out, took a shower, and returned to his room quietly.

Carolline had already fallen asleep, leaving a light on for Bryan Hawkins. After washing up briefly, he lay down beside Carolline, whose breathing had already become steady. However, Bryan Hawkins could not sleep despite lying flat on his back.

After tossing and turning for a while, he took out his phone, opened Google’s search bar, and typed several words: how to have a girl.

He researched on this topic until midnight. Carolline was woken up by her need to urinate – she had finished the cup of water her mother had poured for her before going to bed.

When Carolline woke up, she saw that Bryan Hawkins was still awake at midnight, concentrating on his phone. Occasionally, he would silently recite something like memorizing a book.

Carolline went to the restroom, and he was still focused when she returned. She was sleepy, but his silly appearance made her incredibly curious. She wanted to see what he was looking at so intently and seriously.

She went over and saw a whole article about what foods expecting parents should eat if they wanted a girl.

This was a new revelation for Carolline. It seemed that her mother’s analysis was accurate – this man was indeed obsessed with having a daughter.

If Axel knew about this, he might be jealous.

"You’ve been researching this all night?" Carolline suddenly asked, surprising Bryan Hawkins, who was still very focused.
