"Alright, let’s go then." Bryan Hawkins was looking for an excuse to leave, and Carolline Ruiz just provided him with a perfect one.

It’s better to leave now so he doesn’t have to see William Hawkins’ smug face. Bryan thought what’s so great about it? Wait until he has a daughter, then he’ll make William envious.

"Are you guys leaving?" Grandma Hawkins asked, looking at the two of them.

"No, grandma, we’re going to pick up Axel. He’s also looking forward to seeing his new siblings." Carolline explained.

"Oh, alright, bring Axel here. Tell him he has a little sister Avery and a little brother Aiden Axon. Let him be happy too. I haven’t seen him in a couple of days, I miss him. When Avery and Aiden Axon have their one-month celebration, we’ll have a big celebration." Grandma Hawkins nodded.

Bryan Hawkins then took Carolline away.

Carolline looked at the man who was sitting in the driving cabin with a depressed look on his face, not planning on starting the car. She asked after a while, "What’s wrong? Are you envious and resentful of someone having a daughter?"

"Wife, isn’t that Avery name actually our daughter’s name that you gave them? The name Avery is so good." William Hawkins had a daughter before he did, and he has been smug about it, which has been depressing him. Now his wife gave away the name that was supposed to be their daughter’s, how can he not be depressed?

This has nothing to do with envy nor rage. William Hawkins’ ability to have a daughter is his own, and Bryan Hawkins can do it too, maybe even having two daughters. But of course, it is a bit frustrating since he can’t decide if his child is going to be a boy or a girl.

"There are plenty of good names other than Avery. It’s okay, don’t be upset, let’s go. We’ll call home first." Carolline tried to comfort him, and then thought about picking up Axel.

"..." The man finally started the car driving towards the Ruiz Family’s home.

By this time, the Ruiz family’s gathering should be over, so they drove straight to the Hospital staff dormitory building.

When they got home, Axel was still awake, seemingly waiting for them. He ran excitedly over to his parents when he saw them return, holding one hand each, "Dad, Mom, you’re back?"

"Yeah, why haven’t you slept at this late hour?" Carolline replied, while tousling Axel’s hair. Noticing his round belly, she added, "You had so much for dinner? Your belly is still so round and full."

"He did eat a lot, mostly because he drank too much water and ate a lot of fruits too. He’ll be fine after peeing a couple of times. Why are you here so late? I thought you were going to pick him up tomorrow," Emily Hill poured them each a glass of water as she spoke.

"Yeah, it’s so late today. Why don’t you just stay the night at our house?" Henry Ruiz also suggested.

"Right, we have clean sheets here. You guys must be tired from going back and forth." Emily Hill nodded in agreement.

"That’s fine. Mom and Dad, then we’ll be imposing on you for the night. Axel, have you taken a bath? Let Dad take you for a bath, then I’ll tell you a bedtime story and we can sleep, okay?" Bryan Hawkins replied to Henry Ruiz and Emily Hill’s words, and then without waiting for Carolline’s input, took Axel’s hand and went towards his room.

Axel didn’t notice anything odd about his father, but Emily Hill and Henry Ruiz did. They looked at Bryan Hawkins, and then directed their puzzled gazes to Carolline.

After hearing Bryan Hawkins take Axel into his room and close the door, Carolline finally explained, "A lot of things happened there today - all good things. William had boy-girl twins, which are really beautiful. So, someone is a bit depressed."
